Dear lady, thank you for your replay!!!. I like so much your rendition of this piece. I will hear you on other posts.... . Regarding to Mr Kern i love so much his music and i remenber, as a teen ager, that i have been impressed of "the way you look Tonight" by Ray Conniff. I love so much American composers, expecially those which have realized music for movies (.... Mancini, Hermann, Newman, Tiomkin , ...) . Wishes from Italy, Como Lake, Bellagio
I love Morris & Bolcom in these!! Folks didn't get as enthused for this as for All the Things You Are. Hmmm .. ya' can't win 'em all! Thanks for commenting :)
i am enthused as you perform my favorite song. great voice great arrangement love it. did not hear all the things you are but i love that song too!!! great performance*********you are incorrect you won with me i am a tough self styled uneducated music critic and you get 100%. i know and appreciate quality and this performance has quality!!! how do i find all the things you are? i have the thomas hampson version on my favorites in youtube.
To have a dream come true! Perhaps that will happen if I listen to this performance often enough. "Dream" in this context is restrictive, meaning No Nightmares. I don't want to dream that Dick Cheney is beside me. What a horror! Thank you for posting this, Barbara. The image is a serene choice of soothing, gentle reassurance.
Wow, Jerome Kern's wonderful music beautifullysung and played! Many Thx!

I love the Maureen McGovern version in which she coupled this song with "All the Things You Are" and made them just the most gorgeous ever.
Soprano Sylvia McNair also did it beautifully, too.

They sure knew how to write lyrics back then. Music's not bad either. :) Nice to hear Joan Morris again. I wonder if I still have those LPs...

No better combination than Kern and
Gershwin, as this lovely song proves.

Nothing like the good old american song book to banish the headache! We put those dictionaries away and the tablets - and don't we feel good!
Looking to the right of the screen it seems that everyone and his sister has had a stab at this one.

Haha!! Yup - regular family affair. I got rid of the headache with Aladdin's lamp ;)
