My slightly uneducated viewpoint is that it's arrogant of us as humans to think that we can do so much as to destroy the entire ecosystems of the earth that have been along for so long and endured several mass extinctions, etc. and rebounded to be better than before. @luckyjinxer Why shouldn't emitting gargantuan amounts of poisonous gasses into the air, trapping radiation, and thus warming the planet cause some deviation from such a natural cycle? 99 percent of all species that ever lived are now extinct; their demise by competition, those said cycles, virus, asteroids etc. So we take it that adaptation must a little ineffectual in the short term.This cause of warming is surely distinct from those previous, since none before us did that.

life's little game. Living in a large city creates more polution and carbon emitions by idling between lights and for dump trucks to sit and pick up all the trash that builds up. In that trash is plastics made from petroleum. So to live in the suburbs and drive all over the place may be less polluted rather than cramming everyone together.

And yes, if you zoom out humanity is insignificant, and the earth will recover long after we're gone. But that argument also justifes murder and suicide. There's just so much smoke - so many vested interests in both ways that we can never be sure of any truth. The green economy is certainly a joke - all this endless junk repackaged with an 'eco' label because it's made from recycled plastic.
But all that crap aside - if we were to start looking after our environment properly, the benefits would be huge. Our ecosystems deserve it. Thanks
