  • If I had a time machine, I'd go there an say to the guy, "Hey, I saw you on YouTube!"

  • heey, the dident have colur cameras in 1926 :O whats this then ?

  • @derangedslayer1 digital restoration.

  • And just look at poor London now. What a heartbreak.

  • @freethoughtmusic will be alot of skyscrapers to come!!

  • Looks like a beautiful Summer day, at around 3/4 pm by the Coppers shadow.

  • THANKS!...First and last time this year i will see a bobby on the beat lol! ;)

  • "Evenin` all. Ahm afraid ahm goin to av to arrest you sir on account that you are filmin the `ouses of parliament. Such actions as described under the prevention of terrorism act 1903 may result in the use of the aforesaid film for the plannin` an perpetration of violent acts by the Boers against Is Majestys government. Please accompany me down to the Lambef nick.

  • @chanctonbury63 Hahahaha.. Oh dear..

  • If you pay VERY close attention, you will notice that as the bobby approaches the camera, he gives a warm smile.

  • @einetutterauchen I think he was intrigued by the 'modern technology."

  • Ye and you try filming now they are on you like a ton of bricks, and all in the name of keeping you safe,MMMM...whatever!!!!

  • the friendly bobby, nice and friendly towards the public, the devil towards the thugs and criminals. It makes me sad to even describe our situation today.

  • WOW! crazy to think that this video is EXACTLY what people saw during the reign of King George V - usually it's not in color so it doesn't seem as real. so much has changed... and yet it's still much the same. only ever spent 8 days in London but i'm desperate to go back!

  • Perishing loiterers

  • this is awesome

  • where u get all this,,,

  • This is pretty amazing to watch!

  • Did the camera man get stopped & searched under Section 44 or 58a..?? LoL!!!

  • and 85 years later its still the same its amazing how little london has changed since 100 years

  • @charlieiscool1000 Cleaner now ;-)

  • Reference the remark about filming the British Police. I was in London January 2009 watching the protesters against the bombing of the Gaza strip and the Police told me I was not allowed to take any image of them for security reasons.

  • Im brazilian and im in love with those videos. I think that english and brazilians have much in commom, thats why soccer is very popular in Brazil and it was invented in England. I can see that popular things in England are popular in Brazil at the same period

  • Just wish we'd won five World Cups, lol

If only Pele was English... ;)

  • There's not really anything in this film you couldn't see in 2009.

  • @kipps2

i know. These old films always annoy me because they too often focus on the most timeless things possible: A penguin at Edinburgh zoo, or a shot of an old church.

  • 'Ello, 'ello 'ello! A rozzer nearly breaking into jaunty walk, it must be 1926!

  • amazing footage, right your nicked!!

  • Nowadays you'd be arrested for filming a policeman. Bring back 1926!

  • simpler times...

  • i refer you to previous entries.

  • still looks just the same.. (:

    <3

    God save the queen.. x

  • Very good insight.

  • Wonderful! A policeman dressed in black! The sort of friendly looking Bobby you'd want to stop and have a little chat with as you're strolling down the Thames . . .

Eighty years on, and they're strutting around Westminster in bright yellow "hi-res" jackets and shoulder holsters . . . no quite so approachable!

  • Not true, Policemen and Women have moved with the times and are utterly professional, especially the ones in the Capital and by Westminster. Their brief would make sure of it.

  • @TheTriumphTR2 But of course! A smart tunic is too constraining for modern policing don't you know, what with all that desk work. The fact that it was fit for purpose and a source of pride up until the 90s is negligible, or some guff.

  • @TheTriumphTR2 I am soo with you on that one

  • Beautiful!!

  • u wont get a copper walkin the streets these days

  • "Evening All" !

  • First thought in my head when I saw the rozzer walking on the Embankment was Dixon of Dock Green!

  • You almost got the sense Britain was a decent, law abiding place fora minute there!

  • Allo Allo, whats all this then?

  • @twoslices..... Evenin' all.

  • Love the Policeman walking towards the camera man - bet he isn't gonna try and arrest the Photographer on Terrorist charges!

  • @Y55MAC I get the feeling he is walking around the back of the camera, so as not to interrupt the shot.

  • Fantastic.
