Should you ever do another tribute to 'Her Nibs' please consider beginning it with her version of 'Get Out Those Old Records', the most perfect intro song to any oldie play, especially one honoring her.
Georgia Gibbs was Patsy Cline's favorite singer. She copid some of her singing technique from her. I can see it in her Patsy's style. Georgi gibbs is so unappreciated. She really is good.
Zembrazzz, I agree, I just discovered her about 10 years ago. I love to hear most of the female vocalist of the 40's and 50's. I play this genre of music for my kids, so that they can appreciate the Standards.
What an excellent trip back in time, and a wonderful tribute to a fantastic singer!! I was searching for "Kiss of Fire" when I came across your tribute to Miss Georgia Gibbs. Simply winderful thanks for taking the time to share this piece of nostalgia.
Thank you for posting this gorgeous video of the great Georgia Gibbs and all of the very informative text as well. She is one of my all time favorite singers. My two favorite numbers (along with "Kiss of Fire") of hers are "Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White" and "Talk of the Town".

Georgia's been my favorite female vocalist since I was an adolescent. Her voice literally sends tremors up and down my spine.

What a talent, El Choclo (kiss of fire) was her best.

I agree. She was not accorded the respect she deserved. She had a range that few other sings could attain.
