I hate Armin now - since he is brutally destroying the genre's respectability these days for the extra $ it brings him...no Musician would do such a thing. And the dance "music" you hear today (which you don't actively hunt for) is utter, complete and total SHIT. End of.

if this version was the original from 1993,then why i was not for millijar with it and dit,nt even know about it to even exist, and why was the later verrsion we all know released in 2000???
is there something i,ve missed from the past, cuzz backthem i found this tune nowhere on no megadance 93 album or something.
anyway i prefer the 2000 version for wich i ,m formillijar with it.
Maybe its because you are to young or not into the electronic scene in 93??!! As i remember in those days everybody knew the tune, as it was played in nearly every club in germany!
And u really dont believe that megadance is a "benchmark" for classical electronic music like this, do you?!
if you had known the track since 93, this were your fave version, believe me! ;-)
@Suckz2002 I'll admit, I had heard the Rank 1 mix first...I enjoy both though. I wouldn't classify one as better than the other. They both have a different mood and are both great.
@johneymute I know the Rank 1 remix much longer than this version, but the minute I heard this, I didn't want to hear the Rank 1 remix again, but this is all about opinion of course. It's also sad most people only listen to music they're "familiar with", if this wasn't the case, music like this would be much more wide spread.
@magicmartin18 Ferry Corsten had nothing to do with this track. Cygnus X where Ralf Hildenbeutel (longtime production partner of Sven Väth) & Matthias Hoffmann (aka Brainchild) at the time of this release.
Ferry Corsten was producing Gabber back in 93 as far as I know.
lekker hoor. vind de rank 1 remix wel beter, ook qua kwaliteit. maar ja wat wil je...de periode 1993-2000 is er veel gebeurd en veranderd in de house scene

labelfree904 is right. Trance was born back in the 80s, then it slowly evolved into what we know today.
For the purists, Trance is long gone. Unfortunately people make a very wide generalization on EDM today, calling everything as Trance, even though most of it is not trance.
This "wide spectrum" of trance began in the late 90's, when producers like Rank 1 started experimenting with very chilled (happy) melodies and the near obsession with the superstring effect of the old JP8000 synthesizer.
@IseeUcopy it did, but not in the way that you may think. You might think of House as what it is today, or you know, the disco sound that it used to have back in the 80-90's. But this is not what Trance took from it. House was of the very first genres that used special sounds effects like synths and bass drum kicks on every beat.
In essence, Trance took those effects and the percussions sound, then developed from there. Like the 4on4 bass signature.
@Suckz2002 they don't downgrade video/audio quality because of copyrights, many of my videos that don't have anything copyrighted on them have been subject to losing quality. It looks like youtube is compressing many videos for memory efficiency reasons it seems.
@Kasparovia Kill yourself...dont you know youtube's compression method is shit? Get a life and stop with your sarcasm coments and enjoy this amazing tune, bitch..
Wow, now this is real tune! can't believe such good tune was created in 93! This is gold guys......awesome track! Wish I had the technology i have today to have listen to these kind of tunes back when i was a little kid!
I know some say this original style of trance is so much better than what we have today. I would actually tend to disagree, but I have a ton of respect for this. And this track in particular is about 10+ years ahead of it's time. I wish Armin would play some of these old school trance songs on his ASOT like he did at first back in 2001.
@Eksynyt Have you even bothered listening to the recent ASOT episodes? They are beyond terrible. Poppy cheese, it's like a pop production made every day. ASOT has fucked up the entire scene.
sorry let me rephrase that. Trance has its ROOTS from early HOUSE music developed in the late 1980's. Without it, trance wouldn't have existed due to the fact that it is an evolutionary genre. Today's electronic music has had a heavy influence from trance. Without such groups as bonzai (lightening records) and eye-q from the early 90's, we wouldn't have the music we have today. My point is, if it wasnt for house's gaining popularity in 89, we wouldn't have trance.
@labelfree904 Ah, yes that's certainly true. Trance is closely related to progressive house, which has existed since the early 90s. Most dance music today uses the standard house beat or something similar.
@labelfree904 i think you better check the history of how trance music came to life...Just check and that's all...don't want to make a big deal because of it. Just check. I think the easy way is to read about it on wikipedia. I got something that only few people have about Trance Music. It's a very intresting book. Take care.
@labelfree904 And i respect your opinion. The problem is that you point out your opinion based on untruth and other's who see your opinion may take it for granted , without checking themselvs. I know sometimes the two of them ( Trance and House ) can go along sometimes , it's tricky. All the best.
Think you need to take into consideration Kraftwerk in the 70's as a loose start to Trance...thats when i started the interest (When everyone said i was weird!! music from electronics???? lol)
@blackcountrykid Well, sort of, it was moroder's production of Donna Summer's I feel love, of course Kraftwerk started the whole german electro thing, but before them Raymond Scott was doing some cool stuff, and two dutch fellows were doing some pretty interesting stuff before him. To me, there are two genres of early electronic music, the type that imitated classical music, and the type that imitated disco, but there were others that fell in the middle, Kraftwerk was one of them.
Excellent tune! ;]
