thanks for the vid. the truth is these tractors can do a much better job that Yard Machines...and when they break...they are much easier to fix. God Bless......rock on Farmall.
Nice setup, did you get a chance to blow snow with it and if so how did it work? I'm thinking about buying a 1947 ih cub and putting a 3 ft blower on it. Does it have enough power to operate a blower off the pto?
Hi allan. Yes I did get a chance to blow some pretty good drifts with plenty of power to do so. I think having it mounted to the front with an auxiliary motor would work better though. This way I can have the blower still operate at maximum rpm and slow the speed of the tractor down to keep up. Easier on your neck as well :)
So you are going to do this by mounting two bars on the back like a mowerdeck/plow, and then attaching the snowblower on the front with AUX motor? Raising and loweing with hydraulic? Or in your case a 49 would have hand lift?
Pretty much like you said...the bars are already attached to the blower, I'll just extend them to reach the mower mount bars already on the tractor. Aux. motor mounted to the blower frame. Thanks for asking!
Hi Mccarronm04, Yes it's a Cub Cadet snowblower. Model 190-350-100. In July of 2000, MTD acquired Ryobi Limited's outdoor products business in North, Central and South America. MTD brand names include Yard-Man, Cub Cadet and White Outdoor, that's why there are similarities...
I should get around to it this summer. I'll run it off the PTO like it is now and see how well it works. Depending on how slow I can run the tractor through the snow will determine whether or not I'll have to mount an auxiliary motor on the blower frame. We'll see how it goes :)
I take my comment back about '45 super its '48 so not to get IH people up in a fit.
Yeah going in reverse might be interesting. I would think once that its mounted forward 1st should be good enough. Once you get it mounted forward we'd be interesed in knowing how hard it was to mount. Dad has a snow plow on his and its not a one person job or one that mom can help. Living now 300 miles from home it can be interesting to drive home to help mount a plow. :)
That's a great setup. I would like to see it blowing some snow. That cardboard in front brought back memories. My dad did that in the winter on his '66 Ford truck because it would never heat up! Thanks
beatuiful machine, and great job on the snowblower installation. hope to see it blowing snow shortly. Really shows how these machines just keep living and working.
Thanks! I'm eagerly waiting for some more snow...not much of it flying around here yet. I'll be sure to post once it does. You also have some great videos, keep em coming!

Yeah, people dont realize that, or that the speed is wrong on these early A's and Cubs.

i have a little question. woulden't it be better if the snow blower was on the front? By the way it look's it's a rear mount, but still, puzzling.

Are you sure thats a Cub Snowblower?
I have a white (MTD make) and the snowblower looked exactly the same. I can also tell by how long the darn hitch is.

Dads got a 1945 Super A, would love to see that when you get it mounted in the front and see how well it works.

Thanks jeffr890! Forecast calls for 3-5 inches in a few days, so hopefully I'll get a new clip of it in action. Stay tuned!
