The point is that the military yields to the civilian government. MacArthur got fired precisely because he overstepped his bounds. Otherwise, you get warlords and military juntas.

Um, actually Chris the guy said Congress shouldn't set policy, not politicians in general. And he's right, the constitution vests the power to run military affairs in the president as Commander in Chief. The election was stolen twice. Read Harper's Bazaar article "dare not call it stolen" they lay out many questions about the last election. But these things were laughed down by the media and goverment. But mayb you're right. Matthews tries to intimidate in a style different frrom O'Reilly. Matthews will toss out a named he looked up previously like MacArthur. The response should have been that MacArthur did make policy and should have been allowed to make wider ranging policy and thus prevent the Korean War.

I spent more than half of my time overseas (Middle East and Central America), and I have seen - first hand - the actions of the state department and our so called "foreign policy" filtered through the hopper of media.
