This segment was pure genious. The acting, the setting, the music all worked together in one harmonious unit of excellence. I loved this when I first saw it as a child and it still holds up as one the best moments in cinema.
Poor guy just getting over a nervous breakdown. Well in the END they find out something was out there tearing the plane apart BUT they probly kept him in the nut house cause they most likely thought that the wind caused the damage OMG that dummy looks like Bill Clinton
Ah, nowadays all he would need to do is take a picture of the beast on his mobile and show everyone what he saw, that way nobody would think he was just having a mental breakdown.
John Lithgow made this movie. You can snooze through the first three segments and just watch this last one and it still ends up being worth the rental price.
John Lithgow should have gotten an Oscar for this. He's one of the most underappreciated, powerhouse actors I've ever seen. He made every episode of 3rd Rock/Sun worth watching.
@daustin8888 Her name is Abbe Lane and she was probably about 51 when she did this role. Based on what I've read, she started out as a nightclub singer and was once described as "the swingingest sexpot in show business".
This movie as a whole was very well done and was ahead of its time. Its unfortunate that it will always be associated with the tragic deaths of Vic Morrow and the two children because, on its own, it has the same feel of more modern versions of the spirit of the original series. Each story has its own identity, even the ones that were remakes.
John Lithgow was in the sitcom 3rd rock from the sun.. William Shatnerm, who played this exact same role as litthgow in this movie, was a guest on 3rd rock. The funny thing about it was that in that episode both of these actors made a joke about
@1dosucol1 ha ha i watched 3rd rock from the sun! and it had him and Will on the show.. said "There was something on there, they wont believe me..." "They said the same for me.."

John Lithgow should have been nominated for and won the Oscar for his utterly amazing performance here.

what the hell?! they can't do this with out William Shatner in it. That would've made this movie the best if they had Shatner.

Shatner was better in the Original.'
