have you ever driven or owned one? the gxp has like 40 more hp for like 8 grand. you should say the gxp sucks cause you can magnacharge or procharge a gt and it would be a hell of a lot faster than a gxp and cheaper

with a 6.0, if your going to spend that much money, buy a used 05-06 GTO that comes stock with 400 hp for 5-6k less than the G8 GT and Supercharge that.

yes you can mod a gxp and it would be faster and make more but if you are not that well off and cant afford a 40k car from the get go and want a v8 you can go regular gt for about 10k less and get close to it.

gto is an australian design, and having owned several f-bodies, this platform is way better.

some easily corrected wheel hop issues but great ride quality,interior quality and great power.the camaro is a gto with a chevy badge. gto's never sold because of the bitter cry baby gto purists that get their asses kissed by the automotive press.fact is a stock ls2 gto will stomp a 69 RA-IV 400 GTO even the famous royal pontiac tuner GTO's.

I know Ed at Flowtech is really hush hush about specs but do you know what the LSA is on that cam? Sounds like a 114. I need to know soon as I am about to have mine custom ground and can't decide if I want the 112 lope or the smoother blower-friendly 114-115 LSA.

So where are the engines made? Ls1 in 2004 and ls2 since 2005 till 2006. Corvette had ls1, now it has ls2\3\7\9 . So maybe pontiac ships a car w\o the engine to Australia where they glue a piece of plastic, and ship it back to US where pontiac puts in the engine just to send it back to Australia where they sell the car as a Monaro.Eventually pontiac orders the car back to US to sell it as a GTO? ;) And You have a car which travels tousands of miles without scoring any on the odometer :D

They assemble holdens in australia, while GM assembles GTOs in the US. Pontiac just orders the body with a few parts on it.

engine is american, chassis is european (off some old opels) and the rest is aussie... cept the new commodores use an all australian made chassis and provide it for the rest of general motors rwd cars, including most of the american ones (as I pointed out before) but yes the engine is still america... Uhh, no. The only current US RWD product using Holden's platform is the Pontiac G8. The Camaro will also share it, as well as the G8 "ute". Other than that, the other US GM RWD cars use mostly US-designed platforms (CTS, STS, Vette, XLR, Solstice/Sky, and of course trucks).

Drivability is excellent, I drive it to work every day. Just a very slight shake at idle, but it's super smooth once you're on the gas and cruising, no surges, etc.
