all kirtan is amzing and everyone has their own style. The point is to chant guru's bani. Im raagi style tabla player and but i like AKJ too because it brings the whole sangat into singing. Jagpal singhs kirtans awesome too. I just can't bare people screaming waheguru though, i feels its rude, almost like screaming at waheguru, the shabd waheguru is a gift and shoud be chanted respectfully but this is just my opinion, not a fact.

the fact is a lot of ppl like the AKJ kirtan style, as long as ppl are listning y is it so important what style it is.

One style was meticulously prescribed by the Guru's, one was not.

I'm sure your not arguing that the Guru's did things that were unimportant, like telling the raagi at the beginning of every shabad what raag it is supposed to be sung in, even the Ghar/taal in some cases is prescribed.

Raag is so important that it is even credited before the Author of the Shabad.

Ex. Ramkali, Mehla 3, Anand...

Raag/Author/Name of Bani.

A Shabad sung in the correct way is more potent to elevate the spirit...

You are obviously knowledgable about music measure, but you completely misunderstand, akj has an open aproach to all music, sangat and all reverence to Guru Granth Sahib. Guru says we do not believe in 'Kon rass', but I suppose when you have your own guru you have your own ideology, so never condemn another!

@sticksingh AKJ Completely Ignore Raag and Taal. Have you ever read a ShabadPaath? If not you should, and pay particular attention to what the 1st FOUR words are.

They might be something like

Raag Asa, Mehla (1) ..

or

raag dhanasri, Mehla (5) ect....

If you haven't noticed, the Guru's explained the Raaga of their shabad before even the their own names and the words of it. AKJ just ignore that part.

Do you think the Guru's didn't care what raag their poetry was in? Why's raag in the bani?

You first of all triggiring the wrong people why aren't you attacking the so called baba pewhoa etc. why aren't you attacking the ragis the shabads in a diiferent raag but they sing it in a diiferent one and second of all the guru of akj is the same as all other sikhs and if you have ever gone to an akj smagaam you would see that the singhs and singhnia all don't defiy themselves as akj frist but as sikhs. Last of all why does it say in gurbani that raags and naads are no use
