Yes, it took me over a week to do it, but I did it, proving modern tools are not needed. Actually, I used three hammer stones, but it is possible to do things like this without modern tools. Modern tools just help the job go faster (200 x faster - at least).

You could try to make the argument that the materials were left on the stone by later people, but the idea that in this day and age you could try to contest something so thoroughly proven and widely used makes you sound like one of those "The earth is 6000 years old" nuts.
@Omthiest They do? Where's your evidence? Carbon dating is not thoroughly proven, it's simply, as you said, widely used. Carbon dating can only go back 30k years max, and it is no exact science. There are HUGE margins of error to be made in the guesstimates which follow carbon dating techniques.

Estimates given by Carbon dating are highly accurate. They are also accounted for in the math.

The science is exact. carbon 14 has a constant half life. the proportion of carbon 12 to carbon 14 is also a constant. scientist dont dispute its validity if the margin of error is within the parameters of reasonability. It doesnt seem like anyone actually opposes carbon dating unless the results challenge their beliefs or proposed theory

Hancock has a point in dismissing carbon dating of stone monuments. I find it a little irritating that orthodox archaeology will use carbon dating to "establish" when a stone artifact or monument was made. There's no way to do that at all.
All carbon dating can do is establish when carbon, possibly from human habitation, was last deposited at the site. Any inference about the age of the stone structure itself from that is purely circumstantial. The structure could be millennia older.
I was there a couple weeks ago. Our guide said the precision cuts into the hard volcanic stone would have been very difficult to do without modern tools. The most accepted theory for how the Tihuanaco made the cuts is that they took even harder volcanic stones like gypsum and slowly ground the softer stone away until they had the shape they wanted.
I just watch a show last nit on History channel and alot of the stuff that the author theory about many of the worlds mystories including this vid, was strongly valid.

carbon dating is crap, logical thinking humans would come to that conclusion after hearing someone say "carbon dating is a method that has provided increasingly reliable dates", as if the process gets better with time and use. You might get to a point where you say, i can't convince others that God is real but there is nothing that can prove his non-existence; all signs point to that high probability of his, or it's, existence. @offyam logical thinking humans actually use evidence to back up claims instead of just making inferences that benefit their own point of view. Carbon dating is certainly not crap. You could try to make the argument that the materials were left on the stone by later people, but the idea that in this day and age you could try to contest something so thoroughly proven and widely used makes you sound like one of those "The earth is 6000 years old" nuts.

@Omthiest They do? Where's your evidence? Carbon dating is not thoroughly proven, it's simply, as you said, widely used. Carbon dating can only go back 30k years max, and it is no exact science. There are HUGE margins of error to be made in the guesstimates which follow carbon dating techniques.

@offyam The rate of decay of radio active carbon isotopes can be measured extremely accurately by various formulas and the rate of error is accounted for within the equation. Estimates given by Carbon dating are highly accurate. However, hydrocarbon emissions and nuclear detonations have caused an increase in carbon 12 and carbon 14 in the general atmosphere, these are the loopholes bible thumpers use to somehow dispute its validity. They are also accounted for in the math.

If one lifts a stone that is in it's original position and one collects biological remains from underneath, one can establish with certainty and accuracy the period the stone was placed. (That's how it was proven that there are no original Buddha sites like it was claimed). This video refutes all silly ideas that this site is 12000 years old and one archeologist claim to fame with bad wishful calculations wont change that. Get real.

@offyam carbon dating results are always reported WITH their margin of error and if it exceeds a certain finite mean then they are discounted and re-evaluated. The science is exact. carbon 14 has a constant half life. the proportion of carbon 12 to carbon 14 is also a constant. scientist dont dispute its validity if the margin of error is within the parameters of reasonability. It doesnt seem like anyone actually opposes carbon dating unless the results challenge their beliefs or proposed theory

If, like you claim, "No Spanish Conquistadors even budged these 200-600 ton rocks." than how did the original builders, (long before the Spanish invaders went there by the way), construct it, if the 200 to 600 ton stones could not be even budged in the first place? The Spanish, (in theory) could have dismantled it, given the fact that the builders, built it. Tearing down is easier than building up.

I hate to revise that viewpoint but Stonehenge was built much earlier than any druid communities can be traced. Stonehenge is stoneage, there were no druid communities around at that time. We still did cavedrawings. I am kinda a self appointed expert at those things. Remarkable at Stonehenge is it actually needs a whole lot of math to build it. The problem is back then there was not even writing. The earliest known civilization is Sumerian, long after Stonehenge.

The Aegyptians are supposed to have cut a trench and its guessed they ferried the blocks from the quarry (over a mountain range).
No evidence for such a trench (wich has to be cut through the mountains) was ever found. The Gizeh Pyramids use blocks in excess of a 1000 tons.

The greatest weight we lift today is 200 tons. They beat us by the factor four. And we do it from truck to boat. Its not a mobile crane. If we want to lift something like that TODAY we HAVE to cut it into pieces.
And they are supposed to do this by hand? Rolling on logs? These are the highlands of Bolivia! There are no Trees! and the Gizeh Pyramids are in a desert.
Lets assume they imported the logs. How much weight can a log take till it is simply crushed to fine plant fiber?

And for the theory on getting those stones worked out like that with copper drills using sand or harder stone (diamond tools): No chance in. This video unfortunately fails to present the precise drills in the stone wich could never have been achvied if you use a chopper drill with sand. Its only doable by a diamond tipped drill and precision equipment. And even that is difficult.

Spanish Conquistadores are supposed to have destroyed the structure? Well, they conquered the area between 16 and 17th century. Some of those stones weight 800 tons. Dynamite was invented 1866 by Alfred Nobel. They were not ABLE to destroy such a structure. It was simply beyond their capabilities.

The Ponce Stella in the first shot is holding in it's second left hand an object I have. It is a carved piece of Mammoth tusk. I found it in the Mojave desert, in a place covered with lakes 13,000 yrs ago. Hancock has a point in dismissing carbon dating of stone monuments. I find it a little irritating that orthodox archaeology will use carbon dating to "establish" when a stone artifact or monument was made. There's no way to do that at all.
All carbon dating can do is establish when carbon, possibly from human habitation, was last deposited at the site. Any inference about the age of the stone structure itself from that is purely circumstantial. The structure could be millennia older.

I was there a couple weeks ago. Our guide said the precision cuts into the hard volcanic stone would have been very difficult to do without modern tools. The most accepted theory for how the Tihuanaco made the cuts is that they took even harder volcanic stones like gypsum and slowly ground the softer stone away until they had the shape they wanted.

Daniken really outlines many important factors about this theory and its a theory I strongly believe in. Im not one for believing in ghosts and ufo sightings, but the belief religion is a misconception perpetuated by astronauts from other worlds with technology far superior to ours is logical. All over the world people depict crashes on their cave walls. It could make sense that ancient astronauts came here to rebuild damaged ships. Who knows?
