  • I used to take a piece of cardboard and fold it over 4-5 times. Tape that to a tree and punch it until I dug through to the bark. My knuckles would bleed every time. I did that once a week for nearly 2 years.

  • @bamboo4tameshigiri

Didn't people ask about your beat-up knuckles?

Would you really consider that worth it? :s

  • @FBIRyan A couple times, but not really. Yeah, it was worth it. I'm not exceptionally strong, but I can strike full force and not break my hands.

  • wouldnt u get a hole in ur wall eventually?

  • @DrunkenSamurai18 what is in the bag takes alot of the impact

  • Its always funny to see keyboard warriors commenting on videos. Anyways bro good video.

  • Well, I guess if there is no drum-kit.

    .

Just don't wake your sister in the next room; she has a job to go to tomorrow morning, you know.

    Cheers.

  • apart from all the criticism.. this is not that bad.. i am a very humble wing chun student .. its easy to crticize when sitting in your room and typing all kinds of shit..when you will take just a few of these on your jaw (or worst on your ribs) bare knuckle.. then please type and let everyone know how you feel.. ok?? wing chun punches are fast. it basically means that when an expert attacks you.. you dont get time to HIT BACK>> you just pick a couple of your fucking teeth from the floor.

  • @tarybb2009

there is a lot of ways to train...this could be one way as I train in wing chun myself...it annoys me when random people just say whatever the F they want to say and not really think of how a simple video like this might benefit you or others, though punching these sand bags against the wall is a good way to put a hole in there someday I would suggest you hang them against a concrete wall...

  • whats that equipment on the wall that youre hitting?? exact name please....im going to be a master :)

  • that is not the right way to do chain punches. you're relying on your shoulder too much for power. remove the shoulder and rely only on your structure and elbow. if someone somehow got a hold on your arm and pull you during your strike you'll lose balance.

  • @AttackoftheAsian agree, and u should be more relaxed, when ur fists are still in the air, tauten ur fists first, when u reach ur target, ur punches will be more faster and it hurts more ;)

  • I done wing chun I know the good and the bad.. but it always depends.. just sayin this man.. do you realy think this would work against a hardened criminal.. who faced multiple attackers in the yard.. or survived riots or survived to be stabbed...what I learned as a Martial artist is to never underestimate the nature of thugs... because somtimes the most simple and dummest brute attack is the best...

  • i bet your neigbors are annoyed as hell, but too afraid to do anything!

  • dammit honey, i think that asshole is punching the wall again....

  • @BobDoleNSatanRmyniGz

Hey Bob, imagine if the asshole (litterally) was yours?

Could you get used to it?

  • @FriendLondonFriend Europeans are hairy, gaggle-toothed pieces of human trash. Kill yourself and then maybe I'll take you seriously.

  • i wanna see him punshing with boxing gloves

  • where did you get the bags

  • I have seen much worse punches! The term `iron fist´ is a little misunderstandable yet senseless - who cares.

  • its silly to say that training on things that dont hit back eg wall bag and wooden dummy is useless because you learn so much from wooden dummy and wall bags are good strengthening of the knuckles and help correcting punching technique.

  • @timmulholland If anythin I think both wooden dummy/wall bags which corrects punching technique & a sparring partner 2 practice Chi sao exercise with are both essential in becoming a good Wing Chun student.

  • @HipHopHead187 exactly :)

  • @timmulholland That's right, in fact you can get so much by just hitting the air!

You can learn from any punch, from any training, and every thing you do with real intent. The only thing you don't learn anything from, is watching videos on youtube :P

  • @zsoujiro haha, i agree completely

  • Use plenty of jow.

  • dude not hating yes that will work but like 3x longer, start of on sand then go to trees then to rock, hope this helps

  • @TheCalumjackson you shouldnt hit anything that has no give in it, e.g. sand will compact so much that it will be like hitting something solid, this is very bad for your joints in your wrist and arm as the impact of the punch goes straight into them. you should start off on rice, then move to chickpeas then ball bearings, something like that, all those ave give in them so you are not damaging but still strengthening.

  • @timmulholland very helpful

  • @MrEvilslashy :) glad to help

  • no technique...

  • LOL

  • where did u get that?

  • Not so gay if you're on the receiving end of those punches.

  • Mother downstairs, "John! are you masturbating again!."

  • well i hit beans in a bag to get my fist skin tougher this looks cool im not an amataur i dont this thing that u have friend :P

  • where can i get the target thing?

  • @brewstersmillions123 you just randomly attacked a skaterboarder O.O

  • gay

  • y' know...anyone who doesn't know about wing tsun would look at those punches and be like meh...but if you imagine getting hit in the nose, throat, or nuts/ovaries with those...man, that would suck

  • @SOCOMSoldier01 Yeah, the punches all seem to hit the exact same spot, right in the body as well. One takes the air out of you, 5 a second pretty much drops you. Of course you drop and now your face is being punched instead.

  • Excellent Job, only bit of advice is to work more on your forearm strength, build those up a bit and you will blast through the wall!

  • @DoctorS8n Wing Chun doesn't use much forearm strength

  • @monkeywatcher Depends on if you want to be weak at it or not.

  • @monkeywatcher watch this video and tell me if forearm strength does not matter! Wing Chun - Superior blocking pt 1

  • just punch the pounds away lol

  • why does he open his fist at the end of the punch?

  • @badmunkey420 because after you hit, you relax,

it's same for every technique, you must be explosive, and then relaxed, explosive, relaxed..

  • I'm 16 my knuckles are unusually dense/strong whatever you call it and i punch the wall like him without no mat and stuff for ages but my tiny finger doesn't go as red as the rest... is that normal?

I moisturise alot after so my hands arn't dry :)

  • @a3har101 it shows that you have good punching technique. due to the bone structure of the hand, the two fingers and knuckles farthest away from the thumb break and shatter very easily, that's why you're supposed to strike with the the first two knuckles, cause they are much stronger. the weaker two knuckles can be made stronger, but will never be as strong as the stronger two. so if your little finger isnt red, that means your stronger knuckles are taking most of the impact

  • wow people always compare fighting styles and say why one doesnt work and why ones better. different styles are just that: different styles! using T.Hawk against Zangief might be a hard match but a very skilled Ryu/Ken can fuck his shit up bad. Intended purposes for various martial arts isn't always fighting,

  • @noJutsu1000 Sorry dude, but the intended purpose for ANY martial arts IS ALWAYS FIGHTING

  • Because Wing Chun is not made for ring fights, its designed for street fighting, self defence, you can't really make Wing Chun work in a ring, its near to impossible, only if they are really good then they can make it work.

Plus MMA is not all that, I've seen MMA fighters, most of them don't even have solid techniques, they just get into a brawl which shows that all their professional training is useless. They don't have no fluid movements, its very static.

  • you should try punching yourself in the balls... they recover and become more dense. in no time you will become king of iron balls.

  • just hit the wall, don't need a pad

  • @ThomasWinkworth Yeah you do that :) do a full set hitting the wall every day and cripple your hands thats the way to go :)

  • @1stAprilMCR I do... My hands are not crippled in anyway

  • @ThomasWinkworth Well 90% of people say that if you do sets like that on a solid wall regularly after a few years or when you are much older your hands will be destroyed

  • @1stAprilMCR you just have denser bones within your knuckles, if you do them properly, they will be fine.

  • @ThomasWinkworth I am only going by what my sifu said and what if have read that masters and grandmasters have said. If it works for you happy days but i think i'll stick to the wall bag :)

  • @1stAprilMCR Like i said as long as you do them properly, don't smack the shit out of the wall, you can chip the bones of the knuckles, which is bad, you want to bruise the bone so it repairs back more dense

  • @ThomasWinkworth Even so i would be wary of problems in later life, even if it takes longer to condition on a bag

  • @ThomasWinkworth I think he is renting the room so he would have to pay for damages.

  • @SagaciousMartialArts lol, u dnt damage the wall, maybe stain it a little bit

  • @ThomasWinkworth Either way guessing on how much he does this practice. Eventually it would show wear and tear signs.

  • @SagaciousMartialArts True, it would take yeeeaaarrrs.

  • damn very bad form...

    1) his back isn't straight

    2) he leaning into the punch

    3) the punch aren't really coming from the centre

    4) he is all tense throughout the punch, you should be loose until the point of contact

    5) he is rotating his shoulders for the strike

    6) he doesn't have his guard up when he strikes

    7) he also twist his waist when he strikes which is wrong

  • @myfunkychannel Dude it's not about the form or the way of a technique to punch. He is conditioning the hands to with stands blows he gives in fights. Normally this exercise would be done by placing 5 sheets of paper against a nice strong tree and hitting it for hours. But this can also work.

  • @SagaciousMartialArts lol not about form!!!! wing chun is all about form, even if you conditioning your hands you still focus on your form, you don't do this and forget the other. not about form, massive LOL.

  • @myfunkychannel I didn't say Wing Chun isn't about form. I said this Drill is not about form, he is only conditioning his hands. Wether he keeps good form while doing this drill matters not at all. Of course its always good to practice the way you will need to do it but on this drill he is mearly conditioning and strengthening the skin around his fingers.

Why else would they call it the "Iron Fist"?

  • Whats the name of this Punch Board! I need 1?

  • SON STOP BEATING YOUR MEAT!

  • power isnt everything, i would choose speed and accuracy over power

  • @SOCerberus94 well this isnt really power.. this is making your fist as strong as iron so each punch is like an iron hit,,, u still have the speed too with iron fist training

  • Good vid man and please don't pay any attention to another foolish comments. Its said that youtube is filled with negative comments from people who have never practice martial arts a day in their life or for a short period of time. Fools that give negative comments don't know anything about martial arts.

  • @Arealmartialartist1 These so called negative commentators on Youtube are called Armchair Martial artists, they also own a PS3 and Xbox and probably play Tekken or Virtua Fighter everyday to train their body, well one part of their body, lol.

  • Speed is good but power is low.

  • @Rammstein8814 ?? your serious?? you don't know speed = energy = power, beside that physic backs this up...ke=m*a

  • 37 people were once a canvas bag in another life time.

  • pussy

  • Bruce Lee says that "The Board doesn't hit back." Sammo Hung says "The Wooded Dummy doesn't hit back." I say "If they could, this guy would murder them!"

  • @AceOfJon

I say '' if Bruce Lee had hit people, people wouldn't hit back either.

  • @lolomfgroflmao LOL well said my friend!

  • @AceOfJon I've always hated that saying. The air doesn't hit back when you swing at it either, that doesn't mean you shouldn't practice.

  • @artistmacd I never stated that because items cannot hit you back that practice was useless, I was making fun of the absurdity of the idea that if they could that the fine young gentleman in the video would make "short work" of them. There is nothing wrong with katas, how else are you going to learn forms?

  • @AceOfJon yeah i know what you were saying, lol. I was just throwing that out there.

  • @AceOfJon

If Sammo Hung says `The wooden dummy doesnt hit back´, I say `You should use a flexible dummy than!´

  • speed & accuracy > brute force

  • fast hands... it's a shame they couldn't hurt a fly.

try getting kicked in the head by a muay thai fighter instead.

  • @rosslegend uhh yea they would one of those punches im sure would do nuthin more then sting but that many would put any1 out and once the 1st hits u, theres nuthin u can do

  • @rosslegend yea well a kick is only good if it hits u. ive never been kicked in the head but i sure have been punched. im not saying if a muy thai fighter gets a good kick in on you it wont most likely knock you out all im saying is that u need really fast legs or a slow opponent for that to happen.

  • @rosslegend actually the concept of wing chun is for your hands not to have 1 solid punch but you wear your opponent down like chinese water torture/erode something, its like a rat, give them time an they can chew through anything so his hands would just rip through your stomach at supreme speed before you even thought about kicking

  • @rosslegend U say there's no power? Idiot do u know that this is just training. In Wing Chun you use the whole body for power, if a good Wing Chun fighter hits you full force then you wouldn't be saying that theres no power.

Believe me, I can generate power even from 2 inches by using my whole body force, and I'm a beginner in Wing Chun.

  • @aminul1984 your opinion... but to me it sounds like a load of crap.

explain to me why no wing chun practioners are sucesful in mma if they are so powerful and good?

i'd sooner get bumped 5 times a second by a wing chun master than kicked in the face by a muay thai champion.

    JUST SAYIN

  • @rosslegend

1st, thats kinda dumb, kicks are always gonna be stronger than punches, so of course you'd rather be punched :P

2nd, wing chun, like all martial arts, is a system developed over many year that's designed to KILL PEOPLE, so what makes you think you have the right to talk down?

3rd, there is "better" or "best" style, they're all just different methods to achieve the same goal. and any individual fight determines only the strength of the fighters, not the style

    have a nice day :)

  • @rnmsly 3rd -> wing chun isn't rly based on your own power. It's based on taking the enemie's power and returning it to him

  • @GenieMusikChannel DEFLECT.

  • @rnmsly I think to your first point that depends on the circumstances of that particular fight.

  • @rosslegend Wing Chun is an art designed to kill people, not to win a match.

  • @AceOfJon If you kill someone havent you won lol.Im not saying its a good think im just saying havent you won?

  • @florenmage absolutely! lol, let's pray we never have to actually use a martial art to kill someone... LOL, you know... all my time spent practicing I've always imagined, only having to knock somebody out or break/dislocate something. Unfortunately there are people out there that mean to kill you.

  • @AceOfJon Yeah i know what you mean. But if u have to kill to survive thats another story.

  • wow man, nice!! :)

  • nice nice

  • Hate to be his neighbour, banging at all hours of night on the walls.....LOL

  • Good vid. To maybe help for those that don't get it. In Kung Fu it's not the "normal" piston type of punch you might be used to seeing, but imagine more of a conveyor belt. This would not be the full movement, but is called "setting" the punch. To practice the full move and punch with the body and hip involved it would have to be a target with some "give" to it. What he is doing here is just toughing up the hands.

  • good speed!nouse movments!

  • this is cool,nice speed.

  • No power! Try this on a heavy bag ... it will not fly.

  • @MegaSmud but i bet it will break nosees xD

  • @macedmatt Sure! But even a child can break my nose. There are other parts of the body, and many people can take a lot.

  • @MegaSmud true. but not all styles are based on pure power

  • @MegaSmud obviously you're mind is more focused on western training. wing chun is about using ki or chi, your energy must flow along with yourself through the opponent, using not your muscles.

  • @truexgunnerxchronica Chi does not exist. This mysterious energy comes from the asiatic, religious philosophy. Strong punches and kicks come from economic muscle movements.

  • @MegaSmud Whatever you believe in my friend :) tell that to the shaolin.

  • @truexgunnerxchronica They would not listen to me :-)

  • @MegaSmud lol xD

  • @MegaSmud Chi does not exist you say? Well let me give u a basic exercise. Punch something with your normal training then punch it again but this time breathe in and as you punch let the air out, then see if it works or not.

  • @aminul1984 I punch with my muscles, not with my lung. It is physics, not esoteric. Mass x acceleration = strength. The combination of feet, hips and arms generate power. This was the technique

of Bruce Lee and also of each boxer. Your basic exercise is imagination, because you hit stronger and faster, if you let the air out.

  • @MegaSmud You have no ounce of clue what chi is and you are criticizing it? Chi is like balancing everything out so if you punch using only your arm then it won't be effective but if you use your entire body including your breathing then you are using chi because you are balancing everything out. What happens when you lift weights? You have to breathe in and out don't u? What would happen if you didn't do this?

And please don't bring Bruce Lee in this, he believed in Chi and ur not on his level

  • @aminul1984 Chi is an energetic force in the asian, esoteric philosophy. This has nothing to do with anatomy, Chi is not science, but esoteric. You can not compare weightlifting with martial arts. In Weight lifting it is necessary to pay attention to breathing, so that no one faints. Boxer, for example, do not think about Chi and they hit very hard. I don´t have do be on Bruce Lees level, to understand his Jeet kune do. Read his books, he was talking only about technique.

  • @MegaSmud I don't need to study books on Bruce Lee, I train with his students.

  • @aminul1984 Among the students there are different views, that is known. I am referring only to the testimony of Bruce Lee and he had nothing to do with the traditional concept of Chi. This is, what he said:

"Before I studied the art, a punch to me was just like a punch, a kick just like a kick. After I learned the art, a punch was no longer a punch, a kick no longer a kick. Now that I've understood the art, a punch is just like a punch, a kick just like a kick."

  • @MegaSmud A person that has never done a martial art like Tai Chi would never understand, you have to do it to understand it. I practice Tai Chi and from my experience I see that this art can help you control your body better, it improves balance, breathing and relaxation.

I also do JKD with my teacher and also do Wing Chun as well. Well Wing Chun is part of JKD but I have another teacher for Wing Chun because he is a much better teacher and understands it better than my JKD teacher.

  • @aminul1984 All I know is, that there are many fighters, who do not believe in chi and can punch and kick very hard. This is fakt.

  • @MegaSmud Well how did they get to that level? Obviously they got there by training and how does someone develop chi? Through training. I can say from my Tai Chi experience that after I do my Tai Chi exercises I can control my body better, I am more flexible and stronger.

If they can punch and kick hard then it cannot be a fact, a fact is something that has been scientifically proven, where did they get that power from?

  • @aminul1984 I also have a good balance and flexibility. It is scientifically proven: Mass x acceleration = strength A powerful punch needs: balance, speed, feet and hips.

  • @MegaSmud Yes exactly, what do you Wing Chun teaches? It teaches balance and support with your legs brings hips forward, this gives more power to the punch. You can call it whatever you want scientifically but chi is something that makes your body work more efficiently and more naturally how its meant to be worked. Try to learn it then u'll understand.

  • @MegaSmud What he is referring to is when you master something it becomes natural to you so a kick will feel just like a kick or a punch will feel just like a punch, but in the process of learning it won't feel that way because you are learning.

  • @FICKFEEanal that gay prick would knock you the fuck out

  • ur doing it wrong dummy, the idea is to hit with ur index and middle finger knuckles, not the pinky and ring finger knuckles.

  • @maloy4life That is not true with vertical fist strikes. Try to hit something at head level with those two knuckles using a vertical fist... You will notice that your wrists are extremely bent. You run a high risk of tearing something when you impact like that. The bottom 3 knuckles give a more neutral wrist angle. Now, to be fair it would be even smarter to just use a palm if possible, but this type of training works quite well.

The idea of this training is to harden/strengthen the bones.

  • Comment removed

  • @maloy4life In wing-chun you hit the bag with 8 knuckles per hand (you have 3 on each finger) so you strengthen all of them. This way if you make contact with a punch (like hitting a foul ball in baseball) that small contact still hurts and has power. Japanese Karate and many other martial arts only require you use your middle and index finger knuckles. Malo who is your wing-chun teacher?

  • @FICKFEEanal how?

  • it's fast !

  • Very nice speed. Where can you get these bags?

  • @24okay lol never mind, I gotta learn to read descriptions...

  • gay.

  • @CaptainNensho JUST DIE ALREADY

  • very nice

  • he is fast but the power of the blow comes from the elbow rather than hand

  • Comment removed

  • @Fupper16

It does sound a bit like semi-automatic ball slapping tbf! :D

  • usually i love training like this but i read a comment i loved.... IS THERE ANYTHING BEHIND THE WALL lol... and i ask that because i did something similar to that when i was young with my basement and after months of practice the concrete had broken up..... no im not that strong it just happens over time lol

  • is there anyone living behind that wall?

  • @DemonMakoto i dont hope so xD

  • I wonder what his parents think he's doing

  • @rolyatableagain they probably think hes doing his bullshit pea mushing again...

he would make a terrible neighbour lol

  • @rolyatableagain HAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAA

  • @rolyatableagain LOL! SEX!

  • damn i bet his parents n naybors hoped he'd take up hitting a phone book taped to a tree at least it'll be quiet-ier and toughen better

  • @bigwillakingkilla what the fuck is naybor

  • Ok...just need to sit more, getting down more the power comes from the legs, your elbows are coming out on your punches and your hands are coming back to far back, bring them to end of the forearm olny...dont punch so high either its opening you up and exposing your centerline...relax more, and push your hips forward, remeber power comes from the elbows, hips and ground...train hard fight easy

  • @ChynaVsPotato looks like your doing backs fists as well...cheers

  • maan, I want one of those too =/

  • good speed

  • could tell its made out of sand, dude just hit a heavy bag. trust me its better,

  • Sounds like Disturbes song 10 thousand fist haha

  • dude you will need a new wall there soon

  • Really awesome punches man :)

  • man,ur damn fast.........

  • There is no point in allowing comments everyone comes on here to take out their frustration of being total complete losers!

  • bel lavoro

  • noo my beans! tehy ran away!

  • dam got some speed

  • Very nice speed. May I ask where you got bag from?
