It's funny because Paul's character has no idea how to train someone, so he tries to over compensate for his incompetence with confidence and he is trying to get his customer in the mood with a song that he just realized did not reflect the climate, so he changed the words, and it sounded ridiculously funny, especially since the customer was insecure, depressed, and looking for guidance, and he meets a confident idiot.
