  • Who made this? Just stumbled across it and thought it was sheer genius!

  • This is spot on. It would have been a nightmare if Microsoft had designed it.

    Thank goodness for Apple.

  • 9 Microsoft employees saw this video.

  • @gdea97 10 now

  • I've been in the industry for 35 years and I can attest to the stupidity of the average client and their idiotic needs. Microsoft is absolutely a typical client [on ACID]: no taste, no clue, no idea who the customer is or why they buy. This is brilliant work.

  • Haha . Good 1

  • Funniest thing is that this video was made my Microsoft itself... quick Google search should turn it up.

  • @Slitnozzle

Not really funny. Rather sad, actually, since the Microsoft executives have not learned from what the makers of the video tried to tell them.

  • @elgarak Yup, that's the worst part. The video WAS made internally to educate their packaging team. Clearly it did nothing.

  • @elgarak Yup, that's the worst part. The video WAS made internally to educate their packaging team. Clearly it did nothing. I'm actually going to guess people took it as a "this is how you're -supposed- to do it", instead of the joke it's meant to be.

  • If the Zune launched in 2001 like the iPod, it would have killed the iPod.

  • very good vdideo =)

  • Would have been funnier with Heavy Breakfast Machine instead :P

  • Yes the Zune is uniquely unlike this. But the Zune team does not make Microsoft Office, Microsoft mouse products, Microsoft keyboard products, and other products that even today are still very much exactly lke this video illustrates (although Microsoft is doing much better about this now than they did four or five years ago).

  • I just love the 3rd party endorsements! Napster and Good Housekeeping, genius!

  • アップルは不親切すぎる

    出たばかりのタッチを買うとき、PDFを見られるかどうかを店員に聞いたら、30分かかったぞ

    しかしMSの野暮ったさは同意せざるをえない

  • LOL it should be a must in a marketing / design class

  • mother fucker !

  • spot on!

  • Outstanding! Humorous and clever.

  • hilarious!

  • Someone obviously never seen a Zune package.

  • @MrBizak This video was made long before the Zune existed.

  • @MrBizak Someone obviously is jealous of the positive attention Apple gets whilst waiting for their PC to finish a system restore.

  • More proof that Apple slaves buy items on how 'cool looking' or 'shiny' they are.

  • fantastic!

  • What's the name of this music?

  • @jenatlax Music is "The Breakfast Machine" from "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure".

  • Comment removed

  • The scene with the music is on Youtube but I cannot post a comment linking to the video.

  • How dare they put information on the box to help us make a decision! Isn't knowing that it's made by Apple more than enough to warrant a purchase!?

    Isn't that right, apple fanboys?

  • @JaronHead

The only people who care about the specs are nerds, and nerds will look up the information before going to the store and buying it anyway. Everybody wins.

  • Not enough information on the box.

  • looooooooool

  • AHHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHA

  • To michalchik....perhaps look at the pics of the box as Apple designed it at the beginning. Then look at the box as MS would have made it. Apple...simple, straight to the point. No clutter. Clean.

Anything that Microsoft makes has so many feature tags and Now with tags and so much clutter, it's almost impossible to tell what you're actually buying. Vista was a clear example of that approach. It's called a parody. Sadly....closer to truth than fiction.

  • @lexicon5 it's true Apple puts less disclaimers and that sort of thing, but they also haven't been sued to hell and back in every nation on earth for not doing it because people got the ridiculous notion that Microsoft somehow owned everything computer. (despite the existence of Apple and the Linux OS) so a LOT of that stuff are things that MS has been forced to put on boxes including the various 'editions' of products.

  • @manny75586

"Apple has been the most-sued technology company since 2008, the year after the iPhone was introduced, topping Microsoft Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co. and Dell Inc., according to LegalMetric Inc., a compiler of litigation data based in St. Louis."

  • @laxalert interesting info thanks. If nothing else it just goes to show even more why Windows puts all the disclaimers and such on the packaging. I thought for sure they were still the kings of being sued. I forgot about iPhone and how often mobile tech is litigated for some reason.

  • I liked it, but who made this vid and why?

  • @michalchik a division within microsoft made this :)

  • <3333333 Dead on.

  • This is brilliant, whoever picked the music is a genius too!

  • @Aoifxxx I had the same thought!

  • pure truth...

  • so fucking microsoft!

  • I hate ipods and apple in general, but this spoof is fucking hillarious.

  • And very, very true, needless to say.

  • Looks better

  • nicely done

  • That is SO true. I love it! x
