Look you can get away with a 4,6, or maybe a 8 row turning in the ground, but normally you just plant in circles like twice to set up your "turn around spot" for your headlands, then just create a straight (AB) line and keep going off that back and fourth AND LIFT THE PLANTER at the end, and don't turn with your disc in the ground either, thats REALLY bad for one, and one more thing ignore all these dicks on here putting you down, if you listen to them you'll never get anywhere keep your head up
You guys are being pricks. This is obviously a young dude. I didn't have a dad to show me how to farm, made some stupid mistakes, and still make some dumb mistakes. Cut him some slack and give some advice instead of taking cheap shots. Lay in there with it man, and think about some no-till next time.
What are the outriggers for? Are they just for support and ballance? Also why do you plant in circles going around the field? I thought you were suposed to go in rows makeing your way doin the field. Great video why didnt you use the 4555? just too much horses for this seeder? Loved it Keep more farming and equipment vid's comeing!
To all the negatives on here. How many people his age take the initiative to do things like this. You can probably count on one hand! Good for you Lipsman74
Hang in there man, it takes time to get this farming thing down. Disregard all the negative comments everyone has posted. They didn't know everything when they started... ;)
@blkeele No I sure didn't know everything, but my dad sure taught me fast! I turned around with the disks still in the ground 1 time, and by god I never did it again!
when he wonders why his presswheels keep falling off or he has skips in his rows from bad seed tubes, or has to buy another planter soon he will understand why he needs to take his time and do it right
Planting in a circle. That's an interesting stragegy, but why would you? That would require a headland creating dead time. It also looks as if you plant your endrows first. If you will plant them last you will get a much better stand.
