actually when there itsn't a theocracy there is no morals, that is why there needs to be theocracy, not democracy. otherwise immoral things will start appearing like gays/lesbians and same-sex marriage, abortions, insult of religion, adultery etc. - its not even freedom its a prison itself and a one-way ticket to hell

Islam isn't incompatible with democracy. Iran's problems do not come from its religious government, it's the hijacking of authority by ultra conservative clerics and their velayat faqih establishment. The reformists and conservatives have their own ideas, but it's ultimately up to Iranian ppl to decide who they want to lead them. And they should be given their chance. This is why they fought for their revolution against the Shah.

the revolution was led by the clerics and the revolution only occured because the iranian people were religious, in their religion it says to fight oppression and overthrow tyrants, that is why they were able to overthrow the shah and end his oppresive rule. that is also why the secularists/communists will never be able to convince people to overthrow an islamic government without the help through invasions by external powers (i.e th u.s.), because their ideology is not the same as the muslims
