  • Hey B. Just noticed that you thought I was Gerald. It's kind of a compliment. G. is a bad boy. Besides, we both dig Kangol. Rick is an incredible man in my book. Plays the trumpet pretty well too.

  • god thats awesome XDXD

  • if you were to list this by the name of the tune,"cadillac slim" it would get more hits.

  • Dang, I'm a metal head but this is freakin' awesome!

  • 5 stars for Rick Braun!

  • Great version of Cadillac Slim. Braun is awesome.

  • Just another love letter..love ya man.JC

  • Dang...I wish he would play like that on his albums!

  • i love the fact that everybody on this page likes jazz music

  • This is a great song-- what is the name of it? I love to add it to my jazz collection.

  • Hey pal! This song's called "Cadillac Slim" and appears on Rick Braun's Sessions Volume I released in 2006. I truly recommend this album. You've got to listen to "Notorious," "Nightwalk," and "Missing in Venice," too. Have a nice day. God bless!!!

  • Originally on his CD "Beat Street", his best studio CD IMHO!!!

I've seen Rick live about 6-7 times since 1997...get a ticket, buckle up and enjoy the ride!

  • @SLObeachman Beat Street was great, but I have to say, "Shake it Up with Boney James is an album I listen to allll the time.

  • Stan Sargent is one of the funkiest bassist in the smooth jazz industry! Keep funkin Bruh!

  • You think this song is good, try

"Missing In Venice" actually all that CD is good, worth alot without a price.

Great job, Rick! I hope you tour alone next year.

  • Contued ...... Yeah, Chris Botti is just as good as Rick Braun. They just R different flavors. Rick could do as Chris B. he proves it with Emma's Song but Rick to me is like a spicy dish with alot of flavor.

Chris Botti is more of kick back moments type of music but can still be very effective.

Did you ever try different ways of eating "Roast" and loved them both & couldn't decide which of the two were best?

Well, I have & thats how it is with two great artist like Rick & Chris. Fan of both

  • U want to just MOVE along with the great vibes, the cool soul music he plays. The band guys he always manages 2 have the best artist with him.

However their is a Chris Botti touch to him or side. Try listening to "EMMA'S SONG" it is on the CD of Kisses In The Rain. Rick, in that song is so smooth, calm & alot of smooth energy comes out in that song & he hardly will play it in concert. When I go I usually requet it & try 2 get my way. That song is nothing but beautiful & pretty.

    As 4 C. Botti

  • Saw rick LIVE doing this concert without Richard Elliot and he can grove, jazz it up whatever you want to call it and it was so amazing the preformance and the sounds of all the insrtuments were at it's best!

I like going to Rick's concerts when preforming alone. That way you take him in all to yourself one on one.

Your partly right about Rick being full of energy. he is what is all soul, jazzy, with style & the beat he comes up with is so making you move to the beat. At live concert u want

  • Rick blows Chris away when it comes to improvisation. Chris is not even in the same league as Rick Braun. Chris is about being and sounding pretty. Rick Braun is about JAZZ!

  • that's right, I went to a jazz festival in here in San Diego- where Rick played. He is definitely full of energy and funk!!

THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTING MY VIDEO-

  • you are right man I give you that ..

  • what...jamming! I need to see Mr. Braun live!

  • Bass player is Stan Sargeant.

  • yes!!

    you are rigth

  • Gerald Veasley is on bass

  • im pretty sure its wayman tisdale... if this was the concert i was at it was... but i could be mistaken

  • it's not wayman tisdale

on bass i don't know his name but hi is good playing bass and is the 32nd anniversary of smooth jazz in san diego ca. down town

  • You wont mistake Wayman on stage..hes 6'9

  • then you truely don't know old school. when you use the term old school when it comes to jazz it dates all the way back to doo bop which is like the 1930's roy eldridge has a stlye that'll be hard for people to touch. jazz musicians nowadays don't have an old school flow. but don't get me wrong there are still good artist that's around like kirk whalum, wynton marsalis, chris botti, kenny g, sean jones, james morton, etc but none of these guys really have that old school flow.

  • thats what its all about!!!what can i say? the trumpet says it all!

  • is that gerald veasley? ( i probably spelled his name wrong)

  • Rick Braun kicks much ass

  • yes he does man

  • anybody know who the bass player is?

  • word guitarkaley this is my favorite artist

  • ramal90421...I can understand why this is your favorite artist. What I can't understand are the old school snobs that say there aren't any more great musicians like in the "old days" I was bummed when youtube took down Notorious.

  • thats friggen awesome
