So Rastas, mostly, turn from Christianity's "version" of the Bible and the establishment of "The Church" in general bc of how they twist it to their own gain not the betterment of mankind. Haile Selassie did not revere himself as God. He was the head of the Ethiopian chuch, a church who accepted Jesus as the Messiah. Haile Selassie was a great man, but he was not divine.

i don't think that jesus ever said.. i'm god..neither did haile selassie I...i think and i'm quite sure selassie said that himself, that no man can make himself a god..if you believe what's said in the bible is exactly the same as if you believe in selassie...there is no proof that jesus was the son of god nore is there a proof that selassie was the son...because you believe in something that happened 2000 years ago and was writen down in a book doesn't make it more true than what rastas say

Of course in the hebrew religion, JESUS had 2 be the anointed one becaquse of the law of sacrifice given unto Abraham in symbolism of the sacrifice of the messiach. Selassiae is not a messhanic bc he did not come to redeem Israel from bondage, but he's considered by the rasta as a reedemer of the black Jews, or Ethiopians, so it pretty much depends what you beleive.
