I am a pilot and that looked like a non event. Airplanes live with high winds over them. The problem is when it's not into wind or the wind shifts rapidly. Neither apply here.

That wind was insane! I live in Calgary and they shutdown the whole downtown core of the city because of windows being blown off buildings and debris all over, my neighbors trampoline was blown through my fence and also destroyed my fence! It was CRAZY!

@mizzLebanese The wind speed isn't a big issue as long as the crosswind component is in the aircrafts' limits. The wind in this case wasn't dangerous because it was nearly a direct headwind.

@goooober correct. I am not a pilot. I have, however, been subjected to more than a few aborted landings/takeoff in both military and civilian aircraft. Life is too short to take risks like this. I do not like taking off or landing in strong cross winds because it is statistically and significantly dangerous. But I am NOT a pilot. So, rather than attack me, why not refute my ideas with some kind of educated, rational response.

@nomadicone69 i agree 100 %. Many Pilots tend to think that they are capable to deal with some out of the ordinary weather conditions but the weather has proved them wrong many times. Winds like that are very unpredictable and should not be challenged... He is definitely challenging those winds
