  • Boudicca led the Iceni tribes in Norfolk against the Romans, In the second battle she killed herself rather than be captured. The remnants of the Iceni tribes fled west into the swampland Fens ( now Cambridgshire/ S. Lincolnshire). Cumbraic was spoken from the Firth of the Forth to S. England until as late as 600AD by all these tribes. The culture lingered longer in the hills, hence the names "Penrith" in Cumbria & the peak "Pen-Y-Ghent" in Yorkshire for instance.

  • These people were not Celts as the Celt's were central European decent. These people descended from what is now Iberia. They were not even Indo-European. At the start of the last Ice Age they retreated to the Basque shelter, all the other tribes migrated east, until the Ice Age receded. 90% + of British people are of Iberian origin & did not all run west as some think. The Saxons invaded, ruled & brought the dominant Germanic language with them, but represented max 10% dna in what is now England

  • what she needed in the end was slingers and javelin squads in the front ranks! and strong cavalry creeping the long way around, up behind Seutonius's army! he would have been decimated!!

  • she burned tree setlments that had olmost no soldiers buth in her first and final batle she lost cuz she was a politician not a general she joined the peoples buth in battle she needed someone else

  • @IWANAROCKYEEEAAAA That is partly true. Yes, at least one of the cities she demolished was simply left to fend for itself. That was London with decision made by Suetonius who wanted to marshal everything together for one final battle to put down the Celts. Colchester had at least 200 troops that were sent by the Governor. They were no match. Along the way Boudica met and crushed the Roman IX Hispania legion, only the cavalry surviving by being able to flee. So she was a bit of a field leader too

  • Wow,two of my heroines together in one video !!

    Hail Boudicca,great queen!

    Hail Tarja,great lady!

  • Hail The Wolf Queen!

  • William 'Mel Gibson' Wallace meets Zena warrior princes, GRRROOOAAANNNN.

  • Seutonius can still eat shit! we dont forget. we wont do anything. but we wont forget!

  • @ PalemoonSun, there are some Jews who claim to be a Race. Others are converts.

All I know is Ireland was an Independent country from the stone age, right upto the end of anglo Saxon England. Then the Normans invaded & with them came Zionist Jews. They caused a lot of trouble for the Normans based in England too. That is why King Edward 1st fell out with them & then 15.000 went to Ireland & caused trouble there too, by playing one Tribe off against the other. Then Normans took over Ireland

  • These Norman/Jews Hate our White Celtic & Saxon Race. They are jealous of us, that is why these Zionists promote Race mixing. They flooded Europe with Blacks because they want to make our Pure White Race extinct. They want to turn us into a bunch of mised Race degenerates, so that Zionists like Eddie Izzard can turn around & call us a "mongrel nation".

  • I see your rant and raise you a truth. The way I see it, Judaism is a religion, it is not and never has been a race of people. That destroys your credibility.

Normans are as much a gaelic peoples as are the Britons, Bretons and Iberians. Considering how Normandy borders Brittany and both were a Gallic/Briton mix.

I find it amusing you claim Saxons and Celts lived in peace with each other. What ignorance. Saxons are Germanic, not Celtic. Also, the only "pure" Britons left are the Welsh.

  • These Norman/Jerws were & are war mongers & have been ever sence they came here. The pitted Saxon against Saxon, Celt against Celt & Saxon against Celt. They used both as cannon fodder to fight their wars abroad. Their Norman/Jew cousins in mainlad Europe did the same thing. They started World war 1 & World war 2 & they funded both sides, These Wars were all about makeing money for themselves. The losers were the cream of the White Saxon & Celtic Race were wiped out & replaced be Black Africans.

  • @222288884444 Please stop frothing at the mouth and worrying about how the world runs (or ran). People are just people, good and bad. Try to worry about making positive thinking a part of your life and heal what is around you.

  • The English Saxons & Irish Celts lived in peace with each other. Sadly a thousand years ago another bunch of multi Race shit invaded, they were called Normans. The Jews were moneylenders to the Normans. They cross bred & formed an alliance. They displaced the Celtic & Saxon Royal families & they apointed themselves Royalty. They started a war between Ireland & England that lasted a thousand years. These. are the parasites which Rule our Western World today. They Hate the Celts & Saxons.

  • The Romans were the first to introduce multi Race shit into this country. They brought Black legions with them. They commited Genocite against the Native Celts. The Tribes were wiped out. What was left was rounded up but in irons & shipped of the places like Africa.

But the Celts & Saxons along with other White European Tribes joined forces & brought the sick Roman Empire crashing to the ground. The reclaimed England for the White Race.

  • By the way, if anyone knows of any good movie footages of other warrior woman who actually participated in the battles, often fighting on the frontlines, such as was the case with women like Princess Gwenllian ap Cynan of Wales and who is a woman closely associated with Boudica tho they lived a thousand years apart, there's also Queen Cartamandua I believe it's spelled, alive at the same time as Boudica, sold out by Rome and treated the same. Also Queen Zenobia in the Middle East, let me know.

  • Blue woad dye: worn in battle. The men wore no armor or shirts. Inaccurate: queen without cloak or gold torc that Roman eyewitnesses put her in. Romans did not recognize prerogatives

of Celtic women. They made error of flogging a tribal queen or raping her daughters, and three Roman settlements in Britain burnt to the ground.

  • You are right, and you are not the first person to point out possible inaccuracies in the video. However, allow me to explain a few things. The video I made from the 2 hour movie is primarily focused only on the final battle. Most likely the battle happened in late summer. I doubt anyone would fight wearing a heavy cloak in blistering heat. In other areas of the movie, she is in fact wearing a cloak with gold brooch just as Tacitus describes in the Annals. More....

  • Tacitus and Cassius Dio are the only 2 that wrote about her. Dio would embellish history, Tacitus was more credible. Yet, both describe her in the same fashion. Having long red hair, intelligent, wearing a gold torc around her neck, often a clock with brooch and otherwise only a tunic. What's a tunic? Sort of a long shirt, often without sleeves. Many variations of tunics. What's Charlotte Comer wearing in the video? A 2 peice tunic. By the way, Boudica never wore pants or a dress.

  • Angela Gossow would play Boudicca well if she dyed her hair.

  • You know, that's a pretty good idea to have Angela Gossow portray Boudica, lol. She would definitely have the long wild hair and harsh voice that historians of her time said she had. Course, Ms. Gossow could have probably won the battle single handedly with one mighty roar. ;o)

  • She'd blow the romans ears out :)

  • Splendid stuff !

    Norfolk UK

  • Thanks for this posting. I'm making my own Boudicca costume, so I appreciate all the clips to use as reference. But, wow, there are a lot of different ideas our there of how Queen Boudicca would have been dressed!

  • Just a tip: she didn't dress like this. She was a tribal chieftainess and a Celt, an original native of Britain, not England. Look up Dio Cassio's description of her:

tall, imposing, quick witted, long red hair to her hips, a gold torc around her neck, a plaid tunic, a fur mantle with a brooch. She didn't dress like a circus acrobat, but she probably wore woad dye on her face and arms. She drove a light chariot into battle, and knew how to handle a spear and short sword.

  • Many thanks. I will definitely look up Dio Cassio's description. I have a celtic cloak brooch for the mantle, and I located one of the plaids associated with my family lineage. My grandfather traced our geneology back centuries directly along the Attawoad line (now Atwood). I hope I can do justice to the great queen.

(P.S. I guess the filmmakers wanted to show some skin. The climate would have inhibited such clothing.)

  • That's fascinating about your own family: is Atwood a Scot name? It was really the Scottish who organized plaids with clan names. Boudicca's territory is now East Anglia, so you're right about the climate.

  • but the interesting part is that the celts were warrirs that never wore armor, and in some cases clothing in battle, it had to do with agility, the felt more agile without so much stuff on, so there is a probability boudicca did dress like this to battle

  • There's no evidence to back up Boudica being Celtic, in all probability she was descended from the indigenous people, not some johnny come lately celt.

  • Are you kidding? The Celts WERE the indigenous people of Britain. After them, came the Angles, Jutes, and Germanic Saxons. In the Iron Age, you had Celts living in Britain.

  • You don't know much about the subject do you? the first people crossed the land-bridge from mainland Europe about seven thousand years before "the celts" these are the people who built Stonehenge, etc., my DNA says i'm descended from the indigenous people, if your grandfather was born in England you have a 75% chance of being descended from the indigenous people.

  • It's well documented that the Celts built Stonehenge. What indigenous people are you descended from? Do they have a name? Mongolian people crossed the land bridge that was in place where the Bering Strait is now, into North America, and their descendants were the American Indians. Where is/was the land bridge you refer to?

  • The Celts never built stonehenge, where are you learning your history? if you have no knowledge of the land-bridge from mainland Europe to the British Isles (i'm not being funny) your not capable of debating the subject without it becoming long and laborious.

  • Just name the "indigenous people" you are descended from, according to your DNA, and I'll go away.

  • Just after the last ice-age people crossed the land-bridge from mainland Europe to what is now Britain, the Celts hadn't yet come out of Asia and settled on the banks of the danube, other than the first Brits, culturally they're known as the "Beaker People" will that do?

  • @bookkeeper57 .The first peoples of Britain crossed over from mainland Europe about 10,000 years ago, using a now vanished land bridge. Neolithic farmers arrived by sea a few thousand years later. These are the ancestors of a huge majority of British people. They left no name, they had no writing. By their skull shapes/culture sometimes they are referred to as 'Iberians'. Beaker people were another group of the later bronze age.

  • @bookkeeper57 .Um, celts were a central European people opf the Iron Age. The people of the British isles had a celtic culture but didn't originate from central Europe but mainly from the west.. They never called themselves celts, nor did the Romans. Stonehenge is a neolithic annd bronze age monument.

  • The indigenous people as you call them were Celts. No doubt at all about that ! They were Brittons and many of them moved centuries later to Wales, Cornwall and Brittany after King Arthur's defeat. The main kinds of celts in Britain were the Brittonic I just talked about, and the Gaelic (scots, Picts and Irish).

  • Our DNA shows in England and France that we still are undoubtedly mainly Celts because the germanic barbarians who settled in those countries, were very few comparatively to the celts. In the army of Charles Martel (a frank chief) who smashed the arabs in 732 in Poitiers, most of the soldiers were gaulois and a minority was germanic (Franks, Burgonds, Alamans...)

  • Nonsense, the indigenous people came here just after the last ice age about 15,000 years ago, the "celts hadn't even left Asia at this point and settled along the Danube or broken away from there Germanic origins, DNA research (see "Blood of the Isles") says if you grandfather was born in England you have a 75% chance of being descended from the original hunter-gatherers.

  • @tortue2008 .You do know that the term celts wasn't used till the 1700's for people in the British Isles/Ireland? And that the Romans did not ever call these people 'celts'?

  • Its a matter of record: look up Dio Cassius the Roman historian. He describes her in detail.

  • oh one other thing somone said savages sure i wouldnt change the past but how would you like sum1 to enslave ur family or do bad things to ur daughters rob u disgrace you that doesnt make them savages that makes them pissed.

  • from the comments at the start id like to say no one knows the true facts how can we say 100,000 or 200,000 because seriously if only 10,000 il put my odds on the 200,00 why simple could any1 in the army today say1 guy against 10/20 i dont think so no matter if you have a sword thay have pens in there hands thay will still win, yeh thay lost but i think number were over exaduated and romans write evidance y=eh thay won there gonna make it sound like a massacre.

  • This woman marshalled a huge Celtic army to oust the Romans from Britains; because her ancestral lands were annexed. When she protested, she was flogged and her teen daughters raped by the Romans. She burned three major Roman settlements to the ground, but lost the battle.

  • Good on her, she did what all mothers would do in those circumstances.

  • May the great Queen live for ever in our hearth,

  • Very good vid. I liked song and clips you chose. Boudicca is interesting character of history and I respect her.

Sorry, but what was the year, when this movie came? And who was director?

  • good song we had this song tuesday 10 march 2009. over 1000 against 4000 people strenth and honor wins allways in the end. done by shoaib shaban

  • over 100000 against 40000? strength and honor will always win in the end, these ungrateful people deserved what they got

  • The Celts were not "ungrateful"; they were hostile at being occupied. Read your history. The Celts' numbers did not prevail against Roman strategy and organization.

  • Teutatis!!! >:O Hail Boadicea! :)

  • i would have split her army into small fast cavalry and mobile ambush units. hitting only at night and in bad weather. especially in winter!! Seutonius's army could a have been eaten alive bit by bloody bit!

  • Celtic belief?? wiped out?? ...i think not me laddys!! watch this vid:"Eluveitie-Inis Mona" ....we're baaaaack!!! hehe!!! :)

  • I can see it from here :D

  • That is some great sounding music, thanks for letting me know about that band!

  • The Romans came and took what they wanted, Boudicca and her people were fighting back against invaders who treated them with utter distain and often cruelty. Women were equal in the world of the Celts and what the Romans did to Boudicca and her daughters, was even to some of the Romans, unacceptable and barbarious.

The ending of this brings me to tears.

However, I agree with the comments regarding Boudicca's odd outfit, however and her hair was past her waist.

  • The gold torc around her neck and the red hair are accurate: not the circus performer's outfit. She was queen; and she dressed like a

    Celt.

  • The Britons lost a battle they had won because they fell for a Roman tactical ploy. Boudicca had her justifications but this is all a bit too "Braveheart" for my historical tastes.

The greatest Celtic leader was Caradoc, Caratacus.

What you are dealing with is "bronze age" culture heroically being slaughtered by an "iron age" culture. The Britons had more in common with Homeric Greeks than the Romans- they still didn't like iron but used it for necessity.

  • boudicca shave her arm pit..lol!!

  • hahahah indeed lol

  • great job!

I love Queen Boudicca! she is my hero!

  • Thankyou for this.Once again, thanks for the share, irishoforiel.

  • What does the Koran have to do with Celtic British history anyway? Also if the Romans had me publicly flogged and my daughters gang-raped I'd be pissed off too!

  • I can't figure out how or why people bring up christianity vs islam based on this video about a time in which neither religion existed.

As far as the Koran comment. In 2006 Congressman Keith Ellison (not Obama) was sworn in using a Koran that was loaned to him by the Library of Congress and was owned by Thomas Jefferson. Food for thought about our forefathers.

Back to the video, we should all ask why the genocide was carried out against the Celts, and why their religion was wiped out.

  • @Destin65 .There was no genocide. After the hostilities ceased the Britons became Romanised. The Romans weren't there to replace them, they were there to rule them. The druids were wiped out because they were a strong political force.People went on worshopping their own gods such as Nodens and Sulis, sometimes with just a little Roman tag such as Neptune or Minerva added behind their names.

  • @sonofherne Well, true, I suppose it was assimilation after the genocide. The genocide to which I was referring to was that which happened on Anglesey, which was the home to the druids and culturally very significant to the Celts. Suetonius literally razed it all to the ground so as to attempt to bring the Celts under the boot heel of Rome. Now true, they did not try to kill every last Celt in Britain. So technically it was not a genocide of the entire Celtic peoples. They need their slaves.

  • cano, the point is we need all our politicians to look at the koran, might just be the biggest terrorist in the world today might just be a book, give em an inch n they take a mile, appeasement or liberalism will not work this time

  • By the way, how do people feel about the way her name is spelled? And which should be the correct form? I caught some flak about the name I gave this video, because it has the extra C.

Also, I keep seeing her name spelled as Boadicea. Is that a gaelic spelling? I would think it would be spelled Boadicae, which would be roughly the same pronounciation as Boudica/Boudicca.

    Any thoughts?

  • Isnt Boadicea the way roman called her? I think so, because the diphthong ea came from Latin. I couldent find any reference about her in Monmouth... Do you fould it? Maybe he used another name... No offense to welsh people, but Buddug dond souds good to me LOL

  • canto r u in context? u call fact hate??

  • Sure I am in context, i am seeing both sides. But you are seeing only one!!! You said muslim are violent, i keep asking: arent christian violent? Camon, man! You are from Ireland, where cahtolic and protestant use to kill each other; European, man, Europe: wwi and wwii, nazism, genocides, imperialism! Has no autocriticism? I have no religion, I am from Brazil - bigest catholic population, I dont think crhistian are peaceful...

  • canto its 2008, have u not noticed, also have u asked urself how many were slaughtered today yesterday and will be tomorrow n the last thing they ever hear will be 'allahuakbar' islams violent history can be traced back 14 centuries, and it continues today

  • Ok, you won. Lets bomb the muslim, kill them all in the name of God, peace and civilization LOL.

  • Interestingly, lol, the most definitive proof we have of her existance is "The Annals" by Tacitus.

Yet in his writings, he spells her name Boudicea. Sort of a hybrid of Boudica and Boadicea.

So now we have a 4th variation of her name. I do remember in the documentary from which I made this, they did say her name meant "Victory", perhaps in gaelic or some other language? I suppose that's my next angel of research. :)

  • Errr, that should say "angle", lol. Anyways, I have the documentary movie recorded, so I'll watch again soon and find that spot.

  • You can find interesting information in Wikipedia: "Boudica" - 2.1-Boudica´s name. There are good information about Iceni and external links too.

  • Now that I'm getting my life back in order, internet, vcr and tv card all working again. I'm hoping to somehow make another version of a Boudica/Boudicca/Boadicea video using the other movie starring Alex Kingston as Boudica. Not sure if I can top the music choice used in this one, but hopefully I can find a way to use another epic song without too much hassle.

  • canto if ur muslim u have never lived without enemies islams violent history can be traced back 14 centuries, daily we see koran condoned slaughter, might just be the biggest terrorist on this planet is a book, politicians globally should be looking into this, peace to all

  • My ancestors came from the Iberian, they certainly fought against Muslims. But you are became too much xenophobian and islamophobic, cause chritians arent less violent than muslim, this is bullshit, just look last 14 centuries... christian almost exterminated american indian people and enslaved black people from Africa. Dont you realieze that is a poor way to see the world: we a so niiiiice and good-good, they are evil? Camon you are backing to Middle Age.

  • Hail Btittania!

    Fight On!

islam, IS THE ENEMY, OF US ALL!

  • If "US" means United Stats, I am with Slam LOL.

  • Roma Invicta!

  • fuck the briton barbarians, romans all the way

  • the romans are disgusting rapist who made people have sex with animals on stage your pathetic

  • If people like women warriors, they should also check out the YouTube video "Gwenllian The Brave". The story of Princess Gwenllian ap Cynan of Wales. Very compelling story she has too.

  • What the hell does Islam have to do with Queen Boudica? Neither Islam nor Christianity existed in her day. Matter of fact, according to Tacitus, she was alive at the same time as Christus was. And by her manner, and Celtic way of life, she'd have slaughtered the Christians or Islamic forces just as well as she did the Romans.

Maybe I'll splice a video now of Queen Zenobia, the Boudica of the Middle East who took on the Romans too. Check her out on Wikipedia. She's called a "Warrior Queen" too.

  • yep the Romans were inclusive, they not only believed in their Gods they would believe in yours too, islams not inclusive it don't include its own ppl even, half of islam thinks the other half r Infidels, if u dont believe the muslim way u might find ur head away, great vid Sturm, big ty for the share

  • what you are saying about islam, we can say about christians and hebraics too. The monoteheist civilization dont believe or even allow another gods. Consider that the 3 monotheist civilization believes in the same god. There are actually fundamentalists in those 3 civilizations. You guys are really became slamophobic, cause the vid is about Britons LOL

  • You cant live without enemies, now that communismy is dead you are obsessed about muslims LOL. Very funny. But I think you are the Romans here, cause your realations with Islam is imperilist and expansionist: you are invanding them and they are trying to resist.

  • canto who indoctrinated u in hate? get out of deludedland canto, the world is waking up

  • You are hating, not me!!!!! and the world isnt waking up, it is about to blowing up xD.

  • Bit of a parallel coming up again in England. This time it's the creeping threat of islam, not the Romans. I know which one I would prefer to fight. The Romans were upfront and military, the muslims, well...

  • Interesting that this film shows Boudica dressed like an acrobat and her daughters in modified Roman dress; not right on either score. Celtic style for women described by

Roman historians who witnessed this revolt.

Tunics, often plaid, split for riding, and

belted at the waist; fur or animal hide cloaks

fastened with pendular brooches. The warriors fought without body armor and wore blue dye.

  • 3:03 is what happens when you recklessly charge into a disciplined Roman infantry =[

  • Long live to the Keltoi

  • See this is what happens when the Husband dies and the woman goes into a PMS rage =P

  • This is what happens when your client king splits his legacy between his family and an occupying force. Boudicca went into a PMS rage when she protested the annexation of her lands, and the Romans responded by flogging her, and raping her teen daughters.

  • Ha Ha Ha Boudicca has a PMS rage !!!

The Romans were a stoic people and even with their initial losses to Boudicca's rebellion, they took it in stride and lured her into a pitch battle that crushed the Britons massively.

    Brittania delenda est !!!

  • briton woman had more rigths than roman woman, that is the reason she did rebellion against Rome: empire Law dint supported woman inheritage and she was supposed to lose queen status when her husband died.

  • after all the deaths on both sides the romans empire evetually crumbeled and broke down. She stood up to a mighty empire and saked roman londinium.Died with honour fighting for freedom rather than being a Roman slave. She is our hero.

  • The most important factor leading to her defeat was she had no way to flank the Romans - The 300 Spartans lost as soon as they were flanked.

  • cant believe they actualy lost the battle 200,000 vs 10,000 -.- and u dont charge into roman infantry head on with light infantry

  • man you could have show something more from the battle.

  • I tried, I agree it could have been better, lol. But wanted the visuals to match up with the music as well. And plus, didn't wanna spoil too much. Basically wanted a 3 piece movement of the story. The build up, battle, aftermath. It's compacted way too much, but then, that was a 2 hour movie documentary. Hard to squeeze so much into 5 minutes song. :)

  • The Iceni were Brythonic tribe.there speaking English, that the History channel for you. Insular Celts spook a form of old Welsh. even the word Brython is old welsh for native man. one day they may get it rigth.

    The music is good thou

  • There's no evidence to support what you claim? recent DNA research shows the majority of English people originate from hunter-gatherers who crossed the land bridge from mainland Europe to think an invading force of celts killed off all the indigenous people is erroneous, "the Iceni" were descended from these hunter-gatherers, it's probable many of these tribes spoke different languages some being Germanic.

  • The Brythonic languages (or Brittonic languages or British languages) form one of the two branches of the Insular Celtic language family, the other being Goidelic. The name Brythonic was derived by Sir John Rhys from the Welsh word Brython, meaning an indigenous Briton as opposed to an Anglo-Saxon or Gael. The name Brittonic derives ultimately from the name Prettanic recorded by Greek authors for the British Isles.

  • I can't believe your quoting Sir John Rhys this research was considered ancient 50 years ago, you need to get up to speed, don't bother with the so called "Celtic" sites most are full of nonsense, see if this link works

  • Link didn't work, do a search for Myths of British ancestry by Stephen Oppenheimer

  • AND! point is, like the man say! Quot "The earliest Celtic inscriptions, in Gaulish, Celtiberian and Lepontic (Celtic languages), have been found in these same regions, dating from well before Caesar and showing a clear linguistic relationship with insular-celtic languages.

  • Barry Cunliffe, professor of archaeology at Oxford, suggests that Celtic language developed along the Atlantic fringe of western Europe during the first four millennia of maritime trade, and was carried north into Ireland and Wales by metal prospectors from 4,400 years ago.

  • I agree, this could have happened with a "celtic" language spreading among the indigenous population, but not spoken by all, but surely metal prospectors would have gone to Cornwall, there's little evidence of "celts in Ireland, and i don't think any celtic coins have ever been found in wales whereas they are very common in Southern England

  • first check llandudno the Great Orme for the trade in copper axes and then Anglesey Parys Mountain Once the biggest copper mine in the world for gold and tin, then type druid island and read Philip coppens article. and finish with David crystal page an languages. DNA is not the only foot print

  • Regarding on your statement about the celtic warriors were better than romans in a one to one fighting, where is the proof of this? How many legionaries did you see fighting against celts? What kind of statistical method you used to state this ?

  • Celts in comparison to Romans were a warrior based society focusing on individual strength, that would require extensive knowledge and skill in single combat. Also, a Roman legionare would have been trained to fight in formation rather than alone, it was simple, lock shields, wait for the attack, stab the unsuspecting enemy from below. And I would think in one on one Celt vs. Roman the Celt would have the advantage of not just experience but also weight no bulky shield or armor to weigh him down

  • A roman legionair spent his life training to use his weapons, he wasn't a easy man to bit.

  • Well I didn't say that a Roman Legionare wasn't well trained but I simply consider the style of combat ineffective if it was one on one with a celtic warrior, in the Roman army uniformity in tactics were critical, the soldiers were trained to act together, their fighting tactic you could compare to a dance routine 1,2,3, stab and they repeat this over and over again. Now if it was an experienced Legionaire against a Celtic warrior in single combat then I think it would be a hard match to call

  • search about Titus Manlius Torquatus and Marcus Valerius Corvus.

  • Centomila chilometri di strade, città, terme, leggi, amministrazione. I romani unificarono l'Europa ben prima dell'EU.

  • Hey irishoforiel, the reason most pre-Celtic and even Celtic languages died out is because people stoped living in tribes and clans, the only folks who retained their language and coulture were the folks who managed to stay with their own type and marry within their own comunity.

  • Hi irishoforiel, Shelta has nothing to do with the Shetland isles LOL, Shelta is a word used to describe the two branches of our ancient secret language Cant and Gamon used by the two branches of our Irish Traveller comunity, we are pre-Celtic which means we are the original Celts of Ireland, by the way our cousins the Scottish Travellers who not many folks have ever herd of speak a secret language too.

  • Those in Ireland were Pictish and Ivernian! However some of their words do live on in Gaelic!

  • Oh by the way Shelta is not ancient! Its a mix of Gaidhlig(Scots Gaelic)and English!Spoken on the Shetland Islands north of Scotland! The orginal languages of all the pre-Gaelic Celts have for the most part gone extinct!

  • And the Germanics and Romans may have beaten The Celtic peoples for a time but our languages are still in existence as are our people!Where is Latin nowdays or the ancient Germanic languages! The Celts are still here buddy!

  • The language makes no difference the grmanic people and latin people still exist, they didn't lose there language cause they were beaten, they lost it for other languages that were more widely spoken.

  • Well looking at my skin color I may have of that very early pre-Gaelic Celtic blood in me!As in the Pictish tribes!

  • Hi irishoforiel, have you ever herd of a people called the 'Irish Travellers' they are direct descendents of the bronze age and iron age Celtic tribes of Ireland, infact they pre-date what history calles the Celtic period in Ireland, they speak a secret language called 'Cant', 'Gamon' aka 'Shelta', they are the worlds thoughest bare knuckle fighters and Traveller women can give birth into their 50s naturaly, to say Travellers are hardy would be an understatement

  • On and by the way Boudicca fought until the very end! She was no coward!

  • Well said Natural! And Boudicca had every right to be enraged! They had her flogged and her daughters raped right in in front of her!History has shown us dont piss of a Celt!

  • history has shown us that the Celts got owned by the Romans and the Germanic people!

  • Hey xilpix, the only savages were the Romans fags and pedophiles thats all they were did you know they use to fuck little babies while they watched Gladiators fight 'sick cunts' did you know that all pedophiles in the world carry the Roman geen in their DNA.

Man to man single combat a Celt would have destroyed a Roman, belive me we put it to the test more then once, LOL.

  • You have a strange view of history, lol.

  • wow Naturalspur you sure are ignorant and stupid!

  • Studiata, grazie.

  • By the way, I like Charlotte Comer...Is a Boudica very sexy

  • Always beautiful ladies are welcome (-:

  • (Britain) is a small island. Cold, damp...The food's appalling, the wine's undrinkable, it's always raining.

The people have always been incurably warlike

and now, under Boudica, they're ten times worse.

General Suetonius, Commanding Roman general in Britain during Boudica's reign

  • Romans adopted for their legions the Gladius Hispaniense or Gladius Hispaniensis, the best weapon in the ancient world, well-known among the experts as the ancient spanish sword that was able to break to a Celtic since the head until the feet

  • Boudicca (who took poison) also ordered the wagon train to be put behind her own forces, so she escaped whilst everyone, including the rest of the iceni women and children (who stayed to fight) got slotted.

Don't buy into this spear chucking spice girl nonsense.

  • The Romans were nothing but pedophiles thats where the word "pedophile" came from. the Romans were cowerds who would only fight huddled togather from behind their shields. In single combat Man to Man, a Celt would destroy a Roman thats a fact.

  • Pedophile is a Greek word. This is enough to understand that you say only nonsense.

  • Boudicca was a moron - 250,000 troops and she orders the Celts to just charges the romans (10,000) as one solid mass, into a dale only 1.5 miles wide. Celts did not allow their own, at the front to rest or use their weapons so just go stabbed down. The romans moved up in wedge corridoring their ranks, so each trooper was fighting for a few minutes and then moved to the back to the back of the ranks.

  • The romans killed over 140,000 of the celts 250,000 on one day, if they had any sense the celts could have starved them out or at least attacked in waves.

  • The Anglo-Saxons beat the Romans and Celts, thats a fact.

Shield wall = combined arms team

  • she's kinda dumb charging into roman infantry in the front she should have shot arrows then charge

  • SOMETIMES I WISH ROME NEVER EXISTED

  • do you like to be a savage?

  • boudicca shoudo of beat in total war

  • If you want to see direct decendents of the bronze and iron age Irish celts then do a serch here on youtube umnder "Irish Traveller bare knuckle fighting" and you will see that there are still some of us real Irish Celts around, today we live in mobile homes instead of round houses.

  • The Irish and Scottish Traveller comunities are direct decendents of the ancient Celtic tribes of Ireland and Brittan, many of the Irish and Scottish traveller's have lived in the USA for nearly 200 years, the Irish/Scottish Travellers even in the USA speak a language that no other people can in the world can speak, its called cant/gammon 'shelta'thers is some Welch Travellers too but they are very rare.

  • wat u mean overwheming odds? the romans were outnumbered 20 to 1 and they still won!

  • Boudicca was one of the greatest women in British history along with Elizabeth I and Queen Victoria. Boudicca's courage in the face of overwhleming odds is to be honoured.
