I remember how long it took me to sing and play at the same time. The moment one can do it in a synchronized way is the beginn of being a musician. The next step - doing this in front of an audience on the spot is something completely different! Go on - you will become better and better. The band-thing is much overrated i.m.O., but is a good school for life to deal with various kinds of people whilst aiming for one common composition.
