I googled for a list of the 81 members of Congress in Israel, but couldn't find one. There aren't many news reports on it either. I did find, however, suggestions to call representatives and ask them if they went. If they're on the gov't-gone-wild list, might as well ask about that too.

I guess to be fair you'd have to take in consideration the rules for what they are supposed to report. This may be a case of congressmen moving assets from areas that they have no legal obligation to report to areas that they do have to report. For all I know, John Conyers Jr. is a millionaire with a tricky accountant as opposed to being practically broke. Either way it's a pretty strong indicator for greater transparency of the finances of elected officials.

86 out of 535 Congressman and Senators who increased their public wealth is still a pretty small majority. So it seems like to me that this guy is cherrypicking data. How many congressmen and Senator lose money between 2004-8? He doesn't talk about does he?

@SergeantAlvarez Last time I checked 16% is a large number considering it's our CONGRESS and they're not supposed to engage in insider trading and profit off of the losses of the American people. By the way that number is only the politicians who profitted when life savings and 401ks were destroyed. If you listened, you would have heard him say that 223 out of 535, which is half in case the math is too hard, saw their net worths increase. That's not a small number my friend.
