  • Is a 4wd drivetrain necessary to drift?

  • @Metallica0912 yes, more control

  • my nikko has drift tires and spiners

  • @sad8181 which nikkio? the panther?

  • Can you drift if you make only the back tires hard and smooth? and front are rubber with grip?

  • @T4nm4y Hell no. The cars are 4WD. That would be a disaster.

  • @killersushi99 lol, 4WD?!!? WOW! what about on a RWD?

  • @T4nm4y Regular drift tires have enough grip on carpet so there isnt a need to use rubber tires on only the front. You want to the front to have a little slip to make the drift long and smooth not jerky.

  • wat transmitter do u run?

  • wat transmitter do u run

  • lame

  • Great stuff, Im just learning too and have just purchased the same Sprint 2 as you!! good going putting a vid up :-)

  • Do you think a losi micro rally car with a brushless motor would work

  • nice video medic , do you know if the hpi e10 is good for drift (yeah old model) , i read mixed fillings on the net i cant afford a better one for now i am 16 , i would apriciate it if you answered

  • hey medic nice video...I was wondering if i baught an hpi e10-quite old model will it still drift nice because i looked up on the net and am not sure....16 i cant afford a better one for now

  • I love this car...might get one real soon. That's for the detailed videos on it! But what happened to the video you did about changing its tires? There was a vid about how you bought after market and wasn't pleased so you went back to hpi.

  • Try a tennis court early morning or an indoor basketball gym floor, you will be glad :-)

Some outdoor basketball courts work great too. Stone floors in schools and in big malls are wild but be careful. Go weekdays late evening and pick an low traffic wing location. Run and gun. See some of my vids please.

  • @ledburnerss Thank you for your advice.. I appreciate it. This is an old video though.. and I have already launched 3 other drift videos.. including one today. Cheers, and howe your having fun :)

  • I just got my first drifter. Should be here Wed.! got the HPI sprint 2 off of a fellow on RCtech woth a bunch of alum. ups for it as well as 3 diff. bodies. Im excited!

  • Whats a Drift Box XD

  • why dont you buy an oil rc car?

  • I have the same car but diff body and I had never thought about drifting with it.till I saw this so I guess I'm saying thanks

  • Need more momentum to carry through the drifts. Looks awesome!

  • I must say great job for being new to the drift world

  • not bad for a first time

  • Will you do a video on how to replace the belts? I liked your tt-01 video and obviously belt driven will give better balance than shaft driven.

  • racing always helps with drifting. i race a b44 and my buddy let me try his drift rc car nd i did excellent for a first timer

  • the whole video i was like "is he gonna go in the gutter" :0

  • Was that full throttle?

  • aye dude can you tell you freind or rude boy to make me a trailer please ?

  • Looked prety good for a beginer. I'm into planes but this video makes me want to get a drift car!

  • Try playing a video game called forza motorsport 4 , you will learn quick

  • It's more fun to se your trail stunt's, but nice going for a green"err" :o)

  • for more realistic drifts you need to CS it. for example, the easiest way to CS a sprint2(which i own as well) you can buy a 10t pulley and swap it with the stock center-front 15t pulley. this will give you 50% underdrive CS. then you can play around with weights. it's better for more weight to be in front. i dont know why hpi still makes their drift chassis with a rear motor since its very easy to do the mod at home. all you need to do is drill a few holes and work out your steering. yep

  • Make a 8 formed track. Best thing ever.

  • i live in bc fort st john we i go up there i will ask for youre address

  • Ashphault ;)

  • CANADA FTW!!!!!!

  • welcome to drift man im going have to take a trip north sometime lol

  • Do you live in Alberta haha cause i recognize the neighbour hood

  • yo dont put a 1 way diff into it you will reck it i am 13 and have been drifting for 2 years i have a hot bodies cyclone and a hpi e10 and they are great fun but i also compete againstt grown men and in ma first year of comp drifting i got 3rd over all against people who had been doing it for year keep practicing and you will get good check out ma page man and check out my d1rc drift series foottage that is me drifting

  • are you running counter steer

  • it would have been funny if he feel in the gutter.

  • grip bad no grip good

  • Wahtup medic. We all started somewhere. It's assuring to know your not good at sumthin! Keep it up dude, nice ride.

  • where can you find a low turn motor like a 9 turn?

  • can you please race project overkill vs hpi sprint 2 just a straight long line

  • You might need a little more speed before you turn the wheel, that way you'll be able to keep that position of the rc car

  • how much life time does your battery have, and you should paint a new body

  • hey you really need to raise the body a touch cause the front bumper is really scraping

  • It sounds like its dying.

  • Hey Medic,,, just a suggestion,, get a battery powered leaf blower and clean off the pebbles and grit from the street? It might make it a bit easier to learn?? Keep up the good work

  • I wanted to see you drive into the drain on the side Of the curb

  • That would be funny if a real car drifted over the toy car crushing it

  • hay bro good videos what do you think is the best ele truck to use in snow ty

  • minge mobile

  • u want no snow i have no snow and it always snows come on at least the ;ast winter can be good

  • what is a drift box? and what does it do?

  • It took me a couple weeks to get the drifting down with the bone stock car, many crashes and burnouts later I have managed to drift rather easily, but still love putting the race tires back on and blasting along at 60mph. Great "noob" video bro

  • Are you from Winnipeg? o_O

  • I know what was wrong you were using a ford .... Nuff said. Great video I only kid

  • it would suck if u drove it in to the sewer. u would be out ur money

  • Heya medic. I recommend setting up half a tennis ball or an axial gate to go around. it really helps with learning the throttle control to keep them drifts going longer. I found once i was able to drift on a continuous controlled circle, linking came allot easier. :)

  • try getting a drift gyro it will help you learn to drift and they are great for off road racing to you can get them at nirtorcx form 26.00 to 38.00

  • best advise.....give the controls to Jem OHOHOHOOHOHHHOHOHO Oh NO HE DIDN"T

  • hey man nice vid keep up the good work and youll have it down in no time

  • nice bit of drifting i think ill get my car out now :)

  • @TYBONZ199 so you think a 45 turn would give me good speed and plenty of torque?

  • dude, this guy lives across from my relatives

  • Another good job medic love the videos a few days ago i was drifting my friends tmaxx on old plastic rims no rubber so we drifted

  • DRIFTING IS ULTRA MEGA SUPER SEXY! lloll

  • Nice first time! But how is it that you're out in the cold in a t shirt?

  • @BashMonkeyRC :-) I live in the cold. if you cant see my breath.. then I dont need a Jacket. Can-a-duh

  • @djmedic2008 calgary? i saw your huge air vid

  • @djmedic2008 Nice! Didn't know you were Canadian! Eastern? Western?

  • @djmedic2008 Can-a-duh :(

  • Comment removed

  • @djmedic2008 medic your awesome #1 cuz your from canadia ;) like me an #2 cuz your a rc driver

  • @djmedic2008 lol i love your video's i live in Canada well i live in Saskatchewan and trust me you have not seen cold till you have been to Saskatchewan!!!

  • @reaperisdeadonroblox Lol.. I used to live in Meadow Lake! North Sask :)

  • need to cycle the tires, had the same thing happen to my slash with the back tires

  • does it have the drift gyro in it?

  • you know what would SUCK. if you accidentally drove the car into the storm drain:)

  • when i first started drifting i just went in circles in the garage tell i could start doin figure 8s without spinning out or crashing then it was easy after that

  • @austinyoung300ex and also dbox makes it harder and borring i thought.

  • I wish I had these kind of RC cars

  • Hey first check out my channel ok it looks like your motor gear is not fully ingaged with the drive train cog thing so if u get the gears lined up u should be pro in no time

  • i don't think we grow up we just get better toys hehehe

  • i find adding some negitive (by that i mean like 5 to 8 degrees) helps alot

  • hey medic nice vid!!!

    keep up the good work...

i think u should raise your body a litle because it always hits the ground.

by the way whats up with project overkill?

i cant wait to see an update.

  • looks pretty sick i have this crappy baja beast from walmart pretty good for toy grade but soon gonn try to get the hpi drift camaro.

  • just cuz theres sno on the ground dont mean its overly cold, specially alberta and BC, when u start to see ur breath floating in the air u need a coat

  • hey medic , not bad drifting check out my slash drift vid

  • hey medic, I know this is off the subject, but do you reccomend 3the tekin hd 35, 45, or 55 turn motor for my scx 10. which one would give me more speed?

  • @DrummerBoy746 35 turn gives more wheel speed less torque high turn motor is more of rock crawler torque motor

  • @djmedic2008 you need to lift your cars body up at the front mate. ps what turn or kv is your brushless motor, myne is a 5.5t brushless 6000kv

  • Hey medic. With all that power you need tires with more grip! I have the same HPI car with a brushed motor and NiCAD batts. On asphalt, the stock HPI tires give me the best combination of a little grip so I can get some speed and a little slip so I can drift. They do wear out fast though. You can also lock the rear diff but I prefer a stock setup for the challenge!

  • Put a coat on, you'll catch a cold! lol

  • Me want.

  • Hey medic. Ik you have x box 360 and I was wondering what your username is. Thanks hope to be able to play some COD with u. A

  • Have you locked your diffs here? I'm currently doing the same with a TT-01. Locked my rear diff whihc really helped but haven't done my front yet, not sure if its worth it??

  • Set the camber to 0 degrees. That car has enough power that you don't need to camber in the wheels. And you will have better control

  • arnt you freezing?

  • Medic , put some track markers, anything just to mark out a track. Otherwise it will be pointless spining around in the open. Drifting requries a opponent or competitor to play with. You will soon get bored if you drift alone.

  • i dont like electric rc cars...the ones with the gazoline are awesome ..

  • Check out the HPI drift tutorial, there are some good tips there.

  • Just lock the rear and you will be sweet bro

  • Good stuff Medic, made me want to get my drift car out again as I have been concentrating on crawlers and short course for the last few months. You must have been freezing in just a T shirt with ice still on the ground!! I know real Men in Canada etc etc. Life is good!!!! :)

  • awsome first try ,man better than i would of done lol :-)

  • lol bro your better then i am already ,i havent gotten to run mine much as of yet had a bad cold not wanting to go away lol but impressive for first runs looking good .

  • I do wonder if your neighbours think you're some kind of freak, a grown up kid playing with toys or if they are aware you have over 25mln viewers on You Tube. Just wondering.

  • @MrSouthgarden You never know who lives right beside you!

  • @djmedic2008 i am very young and i am in finland i am ten so where i can buy cheap rc truck :)

  • @djmedic2008 wow, comment deleted?

  • @MrSouthgarden might be even his neighbors watch his vids

  • Dude u live in Calgary Alberta Canada in new brightion or copperfield I live so close to u

  • Comment removed

  • not bad your drifting style Aaron

  • When u going into a drift try and go back and forth with the throttle so the car does not spin out. But don't push breaks

    That's how I drift.

    Great videos, keep on rcing!

  • Nice! Im learning how to drift with a nitro I got fir free! Its hard to learn hot to be a drift king!

  • To start stay light on the throttle the car will still drift but not to much it takes a bit to get the hang

  • Haha liked like me web I drift but it's fun and soon ull get the hang of it

  • that looks tough. I thought that ole driffting thing was easy. Maybr turn down your steering throw.

  • Glad you started drifting. It took me 2 months before i appreciate those graceful turns. I'm sure you'll be enjoying the art of drifting.

  • Over kill I want over kill

  • Medic I have to admit I'm a plane guy that really enjoys watching your vids, I respect someone that isn't perfect at everything keep up the good work

  • how does this video have 302 views and 386 likes?

  • @UP9drummer 415/10 two hours later... for 2007 views. Medic's Calgary boys spread the word fast. Keep up the good work Medic.... though funny to see how small your video set is in the past vid. Looked a lot larger untill you see the basement.

  • @UP9drummer youtube stops counting after ~300 views. Now it has 4031 views

  • whats a drift box? im more of a truck guy than a car guy, so please respond someone :)

  • @quadguy112895 it is a box the helps you counter-steer, mainly it helps so you dont spin out.

  • hey medic. me and bro are wanting to learn to drift rc cars to, only problem is that we dont have hardly where to run them. once we find a good place, we're gonna try drifting. love the vids and im registared on RCSparks! keep up the great work bro

  • LiKE CLiCK up for posting NOOB vids when your already established - making yourself look like a greenhorn! If your a crusty RC bum, thats miserable all the time, click the DISLIKE!

  • @djmedic2008 this is an awesome vid! also do you know what a good small rock crawler is?

  • @djmedic2008 If im a crusty miserable bum can i still click like?

  • Nice video as always, looks to me like your really need to lock your rear diff. This will keep both rear wheels going at the same speed and make breaking loose a lot easier. It also sounds like you're overpowering it, I run a Novak 8.5 in my sprint 2 and barely ever go past 75% throttle.

  • Awesome vid as always!

  • Sweet vid man! Don't worry about it, ur ready for the track! HA It sure looks like it takes a lot of practice. Keep it up! Break out the old "FF Tokoyo Drift" DVD! Hans will teach u!

  • It appears that you are over steering into the corner then over correcting and i would run a bit less camber in the back ;about 2 degrees. but other than that your doing great.

  • put lights in it

  • man u guys r lucky here in deleware it hasnt snowed at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Medic it might help you if you turn down your sterring to 50% on the transmitter , if that is possible .

  • Looks like it would get old fast, fun though huh?

  • hey, looks like you're learning pretty quick, nice man

  • what do you think buyng a go pro hd to make fpv films? I think it's a good idea!

  • hay mr medic what does one way diff mean? im a newb too hehe

  • @juz4lolz its means it only can have power put into it in one direction. like so if you going forward and you can hit the brake to make just the rear tires of the car stop and the front can still turn its kinda like an e brake in a real car

  • with the brushless motor u r not only wasting power but u can't get the right amount of power to keep a consistant drift going. my advise is since u r still learning put a brushed motor in it (like a 15t) and practice with that and it is much easier. then u can fully use most of the power of the brushless system and drift all day...

or atleast until ur destroy the tires

  • hay i know a small device you can use to make it easyer to drifft you can get a d box you blug into the steering survo and it makes it easyer to drifft

  • sounds like the body's rubbin with them plastics tyres. oh lookie i identified my country of origin by sayin Tyres

  • lol "noob learning to drift"

  • don't counter steer to much

  • kool video!!!!!

  • great show your doing a good job. those tyres are just as hard to get off the rim as putting them on. nice twilight drifting

  • i dont get why there 4 wheel drive

  • @bluegumproductions drift cars are 4wd because 2wd spin out of controll to easy and the wheels of a 4x4 in the front help steer it a bit to drift. sorry if you dont understand i am really really bad at explaning

  • some advice is take off the front drive belt and have it rear wheel drive only yes it is a bit harder to get use to but in the end you will drift like a boss

  • it's a flux so what happens when it hit's 88mpg

  • nice video man, i like to see im not the only one that has to do some learning lol.i have 2 drift cars one is brushless and one is brushed, believe it or not the brushed one drifts better for me. i think the lower power of a brushed motor improves the handling some. just thought id share my experiance

  • DJmedic, make it a donk and put 2.2 super swampers on it, then you really could do circles around your project overkill truck. :P

  • @djmedic2008 - Sick looks like abit of fun. You should rig up some led's and underglo on your body for night drifts, it would look really bad ass

  • Really good first time drift sesh, man! Just a helpful hint, you may want to sweep the area that your going to drift on before you start drifting, it really helps to have a nice, smooth street to drive on.

  • hey medic your videos are great. i have watched every one and you've inspired me to start in the hobby. My forum name is MNMC be prepared to see some builds soon. Now that you have a drift car you can make some more amazing videos , you should use the topkick dually to tow that thing around to different drift spots and stuff that would be cool. keep up the great work and keep the videos comeing please. more top kick! THANKE YOU!
