if its on, turn it off & then hold the power button &it will beep when i hit it. u hold it til it beeps again then u should see a flicker on the screen & then the startup...thx it works for me...i swapped HDDs cuz mine broke & i was trying to do a hack on my formatted drive & apparently THAT drive was still in 1080p (tv lags some so it makes games more difficult) anyways thanks...this helped :D

It should work with any model PS3. Man you guys are just funny with some of these comments. The only difference with the PS3 slim is it is smaller. It works the same as later PS3 phat releases. Restart methods and etc are exactly the same!

I can tell you how to hook up a PS3 to a Standard Definition TV. I am out of town. Will be back home tomorrow or Sunday. Now the PS3 comes with composite plugs e.g. red,white, and yellow inputs. Plug all three of those into the back or front of your TV. Each input on the TV is colored, so you know where to put the plugs. If you need any further assitance in this matter feel free to ask. I will make a video on how to do this on Sunday or Monday for sure.

One thing I would like to know, I want you to look up Bad Company 2 (if you haven't already) and help me decide if I would be satisfied with it on SDTV because I'm getting a PS3 this Christmas. How big is the difference between your HDTV and SDTV sets? And my SDTV is 50" just for some extra info.

Any PS3 game is going to look better in HD. Doesn't matter what size your SDTV is. You will always get a more detailed, and brighter picture with HD. If you get and HDTV for for 26 inch and up. Remember the bigger the better picture quality.

Okay well there are CRT-TV's. Those have better picture quality than SDTV's. Pretty close to HD picture. Those are affordable too. Good luck to you.
