I had a Structo washer back in the early 60's. It was just like this, but in pink, and the dial was on the center-front of the machine. You should add more water for turnover, mine did a great job!
@JSneaker Back in the 1950's when Speed Queen was built by McGraw Edison, the fins came all the way up to the cap on the non-commercial models. If you check out the videos of the early speed queens and the ones from the seventies you can see the difference. The 1950's agitators were made out of Bakelite, the newer ones were bade out of polypropylene. The drives were different as well. They had a fluid drive much like the torque converters on an automatic transmission. They were much better.
@themaytagrepairman I know that-also the agitators were made of aluminum! My aunt had a 1957(?) Speed Queen washer & electric dryer. I used to watch them in action a lot!
@JSneaker yea they were made of aluminum as well now that you mention it. LOL It's amazing. All these new jane jetson machines out there with the "advanced design" agitators. when speed queen's agitator was as simple as could be and those machines got the clothes CLEAN!!!
You can try on ebay.com. Alessio Monini.
