  • We learned this in school two years ago (when we were 13) :p

You don't necessarily have to use this method, though. You can also use something called "retrospect": Looking back at what happened.

Or you can use something called "in medias res": You start off with a "bom", as the teachers call it.

  • I think that structure is just telling of the sort of people we've become in Western civ. It's the perfect structure for a society adopting ADD as a world view. We need hooks, engaging build ups, climaxes, twists, and then mostly everything spelled out for us at the end because we were too busy zipping through the story to take anything in and consider it for ourselves. Just my POV.

    PS, LOVE your hair.

  • You just described everything I've ever written...

  • I like your Hair x3

And reading my own short stories, I notice that I often use the same structure you just presented. But we learned in school about this structure ´cause Goethe and co used it too and even Antigone etc are written in this way, so if it doesn´t come naturally, it at least developed over a long period of time.

    Greetings

  • I love you cat!!
