Have you ever noticed that in the books Massie pretty much knows that everyone hates her but she just wants to be popular, while in the movie it seems like she doesn't know that and thinks that everyone actually likes her. The movie seems to have gotten the themes that are at the center of the story wrong.... Your thoughts?

@DariaBerstell - Maybe. But when u think about it I don't think people in the book really hate her. If they hated her they wouldn't wanna be JUST like her, which i think its evident they do the way everyone wanted her makeup when she worked for that company, how everyone wanted to have classes in the Tiffanys trailers that she was in and made, and how people are always wearing what she wears, like when everyone cut their shorts. idk just my opinion, I may be ttly wrong haha

Actually, Massie knows everyone wants to be her, not that they hate her, because they don't. They want to be her. You could tell because it Friends For Never, when she wears her costume, everyone else cuts their shirts like she did. It's harder to project in a movie what the characters might be thinking, because there so much the actors can actually make obvious with body language and no explicit thoughts.
