  • Miraculously wonderful!

  • UFFFFFFFFFF

    TODO MI AMORRRRRRRRRRRRRR POR SIEMPRE!!!

  • its beautiful what is your interpretation of this dance?

  • ★★★★★★★★★ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

  • Is there a hotter man in this world than Baryshnikov? I don't think so

  • Having it sped up detracts from his elevation and hang-time, not mention the superb balances! Was really distracting and upsetting :/

  • why is the music off time? it's so much more powerful when it's exactly to the music

  • The song is the Passacaglia portion of the Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor by Bach.

  • Type this text into the search bar and watch the entire ballet. It is so beautiful. The ballet is about an artist that is seduced by the devil and made to kill himself.

Use this in the search bar:

Le Jeune Homme et la Mort - Marie-Agnès Gillot, Nicolas Le Riche 1

  • What song is this? This is such an amazing piece.

  • Holy Moly!

  • wonderful

  • i love him! there i said it, even if he is like, as old as my dad now :)

  • lol

  • will someone tell me who the female dancer is? :] what's her name?

  • @shahoney

I think the ballerina is Florence Faure.

  • I have a huge crush on Baryshnikov!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Marypopsful ...don't we all? lol

  • @Marypopsful I have had a huge crush on hom for 30 years!!!

  • FANTASTYCZNY...!!!

  • Mikhail Baryshnikov reprsents the US, we are puppets, told to move and do, and behave, to the government. Nothing is independant anymore.

  • Who is that woman?

  • good very good ...five stars

  • Love this... even Baryshnikov was no match for her... she's amazing...

  • Is he moving in real time? or was the footage sped up for affect?

  • @carnivoroussquirrel that's all him

  • @carnivoroussquirrel but this upload is faster than the original movie

  • @TXejas19 ah. thanks. either way it's amazing.

  • @carnivoroussquirrel I think It was sped up

  • @FranciKZ Some parts were sped up, but not the whole thing

  • @Applebutter799 I guess otherwise It would have been too long

  • @FranciKZ Not too long, but it adds a more dramatic effect, switching between the actual speed, sped up and slightly slowed down. But in the end it doesn't matter lol he's amazing now matter what the speed

  • @Applebutter799 Oh, Well... 15 minutes on a 2 hours movie is quite much, however no one is denying B. amazingness, it's just a technical annotation ;)

  • Beautiful. I'm so glad that this piece has been captured on film with such wonderful artistry. And to Roland Petit for his beautiful work. RIP, dear sir.

  • i wake up this way every morning; doesn't everyone!

  • Does anyone know where can i find the music score used in this film by Michel Colombier, all the intrumental themes in the film, actually i'm looking for the piano theme played as background of the scene where he dances alone for the last time in the Kirov Ballet theater, please it's a very sad and beautiful music, i'd like to have it!

  • @nikitaxs1 the same question=(

    I'm looking for it everywhere

  • Why art is life.

  • This is just a beautiful piece. Such feeling and that I am in a state of awe at witnessing what the human body is capable of within this wondrous form of dance.

  • @thedeeliciousplum Bach's Passacgalia in C Minor, originally for Pipe Organ - obviously its been re-arranged here for Orchestra :)

  • @tasmandavids Oh, thank you for the info. Best wishes.

  • alguien tiene la musica original de este ballet ??

  • @dom81182 It is the Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor by Johann Sebastian Bach, a masterpiece.

  • movie goes way too fast according to the music;/

  • Am I the only one feeling that the music is not synchronized? :s

  • @JoaoDinisPinho

I read that originally there was another track accompanied. But at the last moment Bach was chosen.

  • @Inua09 yes, Petit had the dancers rehearse to a modern piece of music and then switched it before the performance. I guess so they would get the contemporary movement "feel" and move out of their classical comfort zone. A brilliant move if you ask me. This is one of the few ballets I wish I had gotten the chance to dance.

  • Yo digo que baryshnikov es mucho mas expresivo que Nicolás le riche

  • Yo siento

  • Misza is greate and ecstatic but Nicolas le Riche is much more sincere and moving, more contemporary in interpretation.

  • I bet Baryshnikov could really fight.

  • me sigue impactando!!!

  • who played death? could it be helen mirren or florence faure :) i just want to know:)

  • thank you for posting this! the other ones got removed!!

  • Thanks for posting - amazing quality! Baryshnikov is one of the best dancers in history.

  • thanks for the clip, super
