  • bro u back?

  • @MyWiiInYour360 I would like to be back. But, I'm mainly responding to videos now.

  • by pro life it means pro human life...not pro animals per say...I think limiting the amount of meat you eat, is important...also not torturing the animal...something animal or plant has to die for us to live each day...plants are alive, and they are killed for nourishment too...as fair as death penalty, depends on the facts of the case, I personally think a criminal learns lessons with life imprisonment, with no chance at parole, to think over the crime, as opposed to death...

  • @prettylyricsmarie Justifying the act of killing things as part of the circle of life weakens the main point that despite all that people claim, they are still living contradictions of an already flawed idea.

  • @BigBrotherWise Life will always have contradictions, sometimes we learn from it, sometimes it hinders us, depends on what it is. All of these things could be debated until the end of time, it's basically what a person thinks and does with their life, what he or she thinks is right or wrong, and what he or she sleeps well with at night.

  • @prettylyricsmarie Of course. Thus the value of life is only held in subjectivity.

  • I am pro-life and for me that used to just mean abortion and really not thinking about the rest. I now oppose aggressive wars and am opposed to the application of the death penalty. Now on the death penalty, we do need to make a distinction between innocent and guilty. Now my apprehension comes from the fact that innocent people are still executed.

  • @BenjaminWirtz You have to look at the overall factors on what constitutes being pro-life. Can you really say that when you're selective on what's considered something of intrinsic value?

  • @BigBrotherWise

Fine, I will say I am pro-human life. Now I have specified what I mean.

As for why I don't value animal life as highly as human is a number of reasons. One is that most species values their species over others. However, it doesn't take much to see that humans have been able to accomplish more than other species, through intelligence and technology that other species are incapable of. That being said, I don't think animals should be killed just for fun.

  • @BenjaminWirtz That's a fair enough statement. The hierarchy of animal supremacy is part of the Social Darwinist understanding. It's the circle of life. So of course we would regard other humans with near equal value as opposed to non-human animals. So, that's a reasonable statement. I think the last part is, as a person who values human life, would you oppose or support things like the death penalty? And furthermore, dictate how a woman should live their lives?

  • @BigBrotherWise

I am opposed to the death penalty due to the risk of killing an innocent person. I do see a distinction between innocent and guilty but as Gandalf says "even the very wise cannot see all ends". I won't dictate how a woman should live her life except that abortion is the taking of an innocent human life and that is why it should be opposed.

  • @BenjaminWirtz You're more than welcomed to hold that position to be true. BUT, the minute a woman's right is infringed upon, then it's a problem given the one's individual liberty is being hampered by someone who shouldn't get involved. Plus innocence is only relative.

Besides, with 10 billion people soon running amok, then population control would be more viable, otherwise...should we adhere to those who are pro-life, the human race will die out much quicker.

  • You can be prolife in all respects. I believe that we should show respect for every HUMAN life from the moment of natural conception, to natural death. I hold vigils against the death penalty, and I also work against human trafficking. But I am also against babies being ripped apart, limb from limb. I am against ALL human rights abuses, especially the killing of innocent human beings.

  • @peacefulvines That's fundamentally inconsistent in a way that ALL life, both human and non-human should be considered with intrinsic value if you want to call yourself pro-life. Selecting one only contradicts the idea that life is of high value at all.

  • @BigBrotherWise While all life has value, those with eternal souls are of higher value when it comes to purposely being part of an industry to kill them. Of course this is coming from someone who takes in stray animals, and lives out in the woods in a tiny barn house with my hubby. I am part Native American (Mohegan), and I love being a part of nature as well. I just view it appropriately. Nature and animal life is important, but humanity is more so. Human souls are irreplaceable.

  • @peacefulvines Fair enough and I can see where you're coming from. Native Americans still hold a great deal of respect for nature and what have you.

  • Problem with the Pro-Life crowd is they don't have moderates. They are made up largely of religious lunatics speaking the loudest and drown out the moderates.

Many people think in some cases abortion should be an option, but they are not the ones representing the Pro-Life movement is sort of an issue.

If you seen the bills that the Republican governors have tries to sign into law, incest, rape, or accidental fertilization is not treated as exceptions at all.

  • @Neosaigo Unfortunately, if the GOP base continues to marginalize themselves into a pure far-right, ultra-conservative wing, then for them, it would practically be the end of a possible major party. Though it's still a center-right country, there are individuals who often work on bipartisan manners. Sadly, as you stated, moderates in the GOP are being phased out.

  • Well as far as i see it, capitol punishment can be a very pro life stance. Like you said as a society we generaly value life, which is why as a society we view the unjustified taking of a life as the worst posible crime, and as such it is often met out with the harshest possible sentance.

  • @slsslc I wouldn't agree with that assessment much simply because if someone commits a murder, why execute the person in any way shape or form? That's an act of murder in the hands of those who find life to be incredibly valued. That goes against the concept of valuing life.

  • I can hear your ceiling fan. I'm anti-abortion in most cases. I feel there are many cases where it should be an option. I am also pro-death sentence. I see this as a good point. I bet there are VERY few people who are completely pro-life. Thank you for sharing.

  • @LadyeXo Well true. But we have to distinguish it beyond the scope of defining such things - personal and political. There are people who are politically pro-choice, yet anti-abortion on a personal level. Sadly, people often take the simpler, often less accurate route and claim they value life altogether. Selective defining is truly what we ache and desire.
