Actually, she is doing classical belly dance but from what I hear, she just doesn't care to dance to the more traditional music or costumes, she likes the more modern belly dance music and creating her own style. Which she obviously has done! LOL, I like her dancing but this outfit is a bit on the strange side but she carries it well. lol. I think they call this modern oriental. The only thing I see different in it is clothes and music but I like the classic look better. ;)

Right on jhonelliej...I've bellydanced for the past six years, performing with a small "troupe", in my second year, I danced for a party when I was five months' pregnant. I didn't have much of a bump yet, but I would dance even at 9 months! Talk about feeling feminine!!
u have to be patience Lynda, it takes time, 2 years at least to start dancing and more than 4 to really dance. So, just keep on practicing as much as u can and u will see the results! Good dancing!

her technique is flawless but somehow there is something missing, sensuality...I don't know. Not sure it's because she's a bit too skinny, cause most of the best dancers are very slim. But Ansuya for example brings something far more sensual
It's the jerkiness of her movements. There was a lot of pops and locks, not as much fluidity that she has on the Luscious belly dance video. I think this was a nice song, but the flowing softness mixed with techno beat may have been a little difficult to extend for 5 minutes, especially since she tries to even out the jerky movements with a bunch of spinning around. Also, she doesn't use a lot of arm movements which could've added to the flowing softness and detract from the hip action.

This is a very nice Cabaret performance with a more Tribal style twist. I like the combination. I tend to perform Tribal Fusion with a Cabaret twist, so I can completely relate to this dance, I like it :-)

Tho Maymonk I do beleive she shows very simple and slow ways of learning the little moves without hurting urself like some others do. She shows how to do her moves in an easy understanding matter.

good dancer,I find that feet generally distract from the dancing and her's are covered by her costume most of the time. It's a beautiful costume. I'm not a fan of the song but I've heard worse (heavy metal + belly dancing = yucky!)

music is by Knossos, it is Middle Eastern oud music fused with industrial club beats. She's doing American bellydance. To those saying it's not real bellydance, nonsense. No-it's not authentic Egyptian, authentic Turkish, Lebanese or what have you, it is a fusion of all of those plus a little Gothic Cabaret mixed in for good measure. Takes skill and years of study to be able to fuse this many styles into one dance so GO NEON!

Neon is a phenominal dancer, but I truly believe that she was once a man. She looks extremely masculine through her bone structure and her voice seems wierd. But I love her extraordinary technique.
I love Neon, not only as a dancer but a great person as well. I've seen great improvement in her skills over the years and I am very proud to say that I know her as a friend and fellow artist.
As for the music, because of the high expense of ASCAP rights many of us are forced to use non copyrighted music or buy the rights to it when we do comercial videos. Very expensive. This is why I haven't released one yet
Gorgeous! This to me looks like Gothic Cabaret fusion, and the music is not hip hop, it is more New Age with some Middle Eastern drumming. I think fusion is a good thing, keeps things from getting old and stale! Good job Neon!

I've had students that were total "naturals.they just needed a brush up on technique...every person is different. and well, I don't think the music is annoying at all..it is perfect and steady...allowing lots of rooom for creativity, if you focus on the DANCER (which IS the object of performing) you'll see LOTS of cool moves instead of focusing on the song.

She can move well, but her routine doesn't show off her skill, but maybe that's just me

Wow! She's a beautiful dancer! Her moves are well-controlled. Bravo! About the music -- well, people do have different tastes and preferences. You can hate the music but you definitely gotta love the dancer! I mean, she's extraordinary!

music is by Knossos, it is Middle Eastern oud music fused with industrial club beats. She's doing American bellydance. To those saying it's not real bellydance, nonsense. No-it's not authentic Egyptian, authentic Turkish, Lebanese or what have you, it is a fusion of all of those plus a little Gothic Cabaret mixed in for good measure. Takes skill and years of study to be able to fuse this many styles into one dance so GO NEON!

I think not, Neon is a very talented dancer, she does it beautifully, and her style is American Caberet, SO WHAT?!!? she's great, Whoever reads my comment, and belly dances, more power to you, continue enjoying the dance no matter WHAT anyone says! Neon is a phenominal dancer, but I truly believe that she was once a man. She looks extremely masculine through her bone structure and her voice seems wierd. But I love her extraordinary technique.

I love Neon, not only as a dancer but a great person as well. I've seen great improvement in her skills over the years and I am very proud to say that I know her as a friend and fellow artist.
As for the music, because of the high expense of ASCAP rights many of us are forced to use non copyrighted music or buy the rights to it when we do comercial videos. Very expensive. This is why I haven't released one yet

Gorgeous! This to me looks like Gothic Cabaret fusion, and the music is not hip hop, it is more New Age with some Middle Eastern drumming. I think fusion is a good thing, keeps things from getting old and stale! Good job Neon!

I've had students that were total "naturals.they just needed a brush up on technique...every person is different. and well, I don't think the music is annoying at all..it is perfect and steady...allowing lots of rooom for creativity, if you focus on the DANCER (which IS the object of performing) you'll see LOTS of cool moves instead of focusing on the song.
