  • Masha'Allah. Allah reward you. amin.

  • Salamunalaikum,

I want to ask a question. The question is in the part were it say wayuqeemona alsalatta. I dont here the al in alsalatta. So can you please clarify on that

  • wa aleykum Selaam,

Thank you for the question - the reason is easier to understand if you know how to read Arabic - the letters are all there in Arabic alssalata - but if you notice there are two "s" - alssalata (see 0:49). The "double s" is represented in the arabic by a symbol called "shadda" on the top of the S - the Shadda means that the letter becomes "doubled" - that's because the L before it becomes silent for those letters. That's why you don't hear the L.

  • There are many letters like this in Arabic - whenever they are preceded by AL - (means "the"), the L becomes silent and the first letter of the word is then doubled (replacing the L).

The symbol on top of that letter looks like an English "w", and the symbol is called Shadda. The letter that has this Shadda on top of it is called mushaddad (and we have to prolong its pronunciation.

I hope you have the chance to learn more about reading in the Arabic & with tajweed (rules for recitation).

  • Oh ok. So if there is a a double letter like ww the letter in front is cancelled.

  • No, not always - because sometimes the double letter is part of the middle of a word, in which case the letter before it is still pronounced (it usually has a soft vowel in between anyways) - but when the word is "the something" and that is translated as "Al - Shay - the L gets dropped and the Shay is then doubled because the L is dropped. So the L is not dropped because of the double letter, the letter is doubled because the L is dropped. I know it's confusing, but I hope that makes sense.

  • I concentrated very hard on what u siad and this is what I understood. If there is a double letter such as alssatta the l is silent and the s is carried on longer. But thats only for the al when it is in front of a a shahda.

  • This almost made me cry, though I didnt. I am currently learning this Aiyah.

  • PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE REGARDING THE ARABIC PORTION OF THE VIDEOS!

*** The program that I am using to make these videos presents SHADDA-KASRAH with the KASRAH on TOP of the letter (not on the bottom as you would expect) - the Kasrah does lie on the BOTTOM OF THE SHADDA - so if you see a SHADDA, and the line is on top, then it is SHADDA-FAT'HAH بَّ but if you see a SHADDA AND THE LINE IS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SHADDA, THEN WHAT YOU ARE READING IS A SHADDA-KASRAH لِّ .

  • wow mashallah i love hearing the quran even just one ayat its so beautiful.......!!

  • The profit mohamed was first a christian man before he created his own strand called islam. There was a disagrement on aspects of christianity. He was angry and created his own strand called islam.

Shows how humans are competing for power.

    something to think about.

  • Thank you for commenting. We have a rich history about the life of Muhammed SAS and your belief that he was once a Christian is in error. He was always a believer in the one true God and knew that the God of Abraham was that God. The divine revelation given to him (Qur'an) was a gift and a blessing and a miracle. I hope you enjoyed listening to the recitation.

    Peace.

  • I realise that now.. definate era

  • Simply beautiful.

    JazakAllah
