I think Scott Chesner is a great weatherman and I stopped watching channel 5 news when he was no longer there. He worked with one of the pioneers of TV weather reporting, Harold Taft. Wish Scott was back in the DFW market.

I am the guy that got fired...here is the story...

I was the supervisor of the master control when the incident happened. I had a trainee on my board(master control). We were doing voice over, Scott decided he wanted facetime. We were trying to accommodate him. I the voice you here first am not(was not) a director so was not practiced with that particular station. My new guy gave us control, Scott walked into the control room(mike on) and the rest is history. Bad timing is all this was.

The FCC leavied a HUGE fine on KETK56, but reduced it when KETK56 offered to fire the director on staff that night, my friend Paul. So Chesner keeps his job, and Paul gets FUCKED.

Whats really funny is, I work at this newstation KETK channel 56 in Tyler Texas and this sounds JUST LIKE SOMETIHNG SCOTT WOULD DO. I am curious why neither the director nor the master control alerted him he was live.
