this is one thing that's been bugging me since i saw this, it's one thing i never got, in the star trek movie why the heck do they shoot spock out of what is apparently a torpedo tube. i mean i get it's supposed to be an emulation of a funeral at sea. but in all my years in the service i have never fired a corpse out of anything weapon like, we just ceremoniously drop the body and casket overboard. it just seemed disrespectful to me.

@gunsniper0018 i think its more of similar to a funeral at undersea via submarine, at least from watching ncis where they had to get rid of a body quickly as it was full of serrin gas which is let out when the body reached a certain temperature, so they threw it in the torpedo tube and fired it out to sea

and i dont think they would open up the ship in mid-space for a funeral since theres no air in space
