For a captain, he sure acts like a noob, fumbling with mags like that. This came out the year the M9 became the standard US military sidearm, replacing the M1911. A savvy zombie fighter would have forgone low-capacity pistols and revolvers and would have carried an M-16 and an Uzi and as many mags as possible for both. Just an Uzi alone would have been perfect since these are Romero zombies. Set it on semi-auto and aim properly like Roger with his M-16 in 'Dawn of the Dead' (1978).

Also I like how it's always the biggest asshole in the movie that get's the worse death, proven in this scene.

Fun Fact: The freezer holding the pig guts for this scene broke, and since they couldnt get replacements in time they had to film the scene using room-temp meat. Notice that they dont show any zombies eating it. Rhodes said the smell was nauseating.

@NomnomJawsnomnom I'll do you one better-- rumor has it that the *instant* they finished filming that scene, everyone and their mother present --cast and crew both-- ran for it, yelling about the smell and not stopping until they got outside, Probably just an exaggeration of actual events, but still really funny to imagine. And you're right, when they do show them actually eating is when they cut back to the zombies who killed him after the shot of them dragging his legs off.

He tested this out with Tapes, an unloaded gun in a specific scene, a razor, etc. So when Dr. Logan died, thanks to him Bub knew enough to hold a gun and fire.

Even shorter version, Smart zombie got mad and shot a bitch.

...wow. For a professional soldier who was tough and/or good enough to survive this long into a zombie apocalypse, he sort of completely out of the blue decides to suck at...well, everything. He can't load a gun while a friggin' ZOMBIE is standing still some thirty feet off with a handgun, he apparently works his legs with his right shoulder from the way he runs like he's been kneecapped after getting shot in his shoulder...
