I have a boyfriend and I'm a college student studying HNC Health Care, so can someone explain to me why I'm watching this at 11:22pm on a Sunday night? What am I doing with my life? -.-
@AllTimeJedLife don't worry I have an applied maths exam tomorrow as part of my Maths degree and here I am at 00:40 watching this, this is clearly useful revision for my exam
HOLY SHIT we used to go into the 'tv room' at school at watch this. and that weird cartoon about a mouse.. i think it was a mouse? a math mouse. el numbre? somehing like that.
I'm on what I'm calling a 'schools tv nostalgia vibe' at the moment. Now to find a clip of 'Badger Girl', and a white screen where words would come on to the screen, and we as kids would have to read aloud what was shown!!!!!!!!
GOD DAMNIT thats gunna be stuck in my head all day now driving me insane, .....all the way around, down and around all the way around, down and around all the way around, down and around all the way around, down and around all the way around, down and around all the way around, down and around
I used to love watching this when I was ill, but then I got bored and had to wait until like 3pm until my favourite programmes like Scooby Doo and Arthur came on!
Amazing how the presenter maintains a perky tone whilst repeating the same words over and over, when she's really thinking 'I spent three years at drama school for THIS!?'
same whith me when i was at school in yer 1 we ust to wach this in the class room whith all the ufer children and do the movments and rite it in the air
15 years ago to this day, I was a school kid amongst others in an assembly being instructed by our teacher to copy the movements of the magic pencil with our hands. It would play on a video tape on the roll along TV. We'd all raise our hands and write in thin air.
I got a slap for asking my teacher for a pen like this one - even though it is now 28 years ago, still think of pens and pencils as turbo Jets that do the jobs that humans can't be bothered. I'm now cross-eyed and have coordination issues, but all worth it for that magic-moon-glowing mission!
@beagles32 Did you overdo the 'and flick' bit and hit the person next to you in the face? No matter how many times the teachers told us off, we still did it XD
I have a proper memory, like fully formed from being 4 years old (1993) and of me watching it on school floor in class which had these. hard spiky black things in it and i rememebr looking at the clock it was 11:30 and hoping it ran to 12 for lunch. Even trying to avoid doing work at that age.
As a kid at school, if we were lucky, we got to watch the video tape of this in classroom or the assemble hall. And when the magic pencil used to appear, teacher asked us to copy the pencil movements with our hand in the air.
It was such good fun, makes me wish I was a kid again :'(
@efccik Shame it couldn't teach you correct grammar. You don't need to put a capital letter at the start of every word! Ironic considering you put "Tv" instead of the correct "TV".
@pufferfishish I thought I reckonised her when I watched it once, I saw her on this once when I was ill, and I saw a Documentary on Dr Who previously, and I said "I'm sure that's Ace off Doctor Who!" GO SOPHIE!
@MrComedy01 Yeah, she used to present 'Corners'; a programme that answered kids' questions- as well as 'Melvin and Maureen's Music-A-Grams' where she showed off her singing voice. She's great :)
The sad thing is that I remember this. Even back then I was confused why shehad to tell us EIGHT times. It took about a year for her to get through the whole alphabet
i really wanted a 'magic pencil' when i was about 4 and remember having a full blown tantrum when my mum wanted me to do some english and i couldn't have one!
I remember this was about 4-5 when I first saw this, the FLICK annoyed me as who writes a letter with a flick at the end!?!
