  • @MrRoycam uh...

  • @MrRoycam No, Sir. it's nice, actually.

  • ... Paul Gauguin in music and sound ...

amazing lyric poetry in sound painting ...

just blown away by the depth and breadth of pure artistry of Bill Frisell AND Kermit Driscoil and Joey Baron. Artists all.

  • Forgot about this clip. Smoking freaking hot!

  • brilliant!!!! i wish bill was still using the klein.....incredible trio

  • @urheadonastick Love that analogy!! Since "Power Tools" I have been an never ending fan. This guy is like "music" with two arms and legs.

  • damn this is the fucken bomb

    Kermit and Joey right on

    thanks

  • back in the day .....

    right on

  • well stated.

  • does anybody know what kind of bass Kermit Driscoll is using?

  • looks like a sadowsky to me....

  • Yeah, thats what i was thinking

  • i love bill f kermit and joey they are the best

    wow

  • bill and joey are wizards!

  • that reminds me of drinking SPANADA

  • Frisell's doing a solo show in cambridge, ma in august - count me in

  • I saw them, over fifteen years ago, in a Spanish jazz festival ... I just LOVE those guys !!!

I have a thought for Kermit Driscoll, who's benn ill for 2 years ... Cheers up ...

  • Man. Wish I could buy an mp3 of this!!!

  • these three have a live CD

  • Part of the concert was on downloading sites a while ago. I like it even better than the CD.

  • I agree......

this is tight joey and kermit are the best line up....saw them several times at the vanguard and blue note...

  • Man I miss this; I used to see these guys maybe 3-4 times a year before Seattle's coolest venue changed into a health club; some of the hippest shows ever! My favorite Frisell lineup, and he always plays with great people. This group just had that once in a lifetime chemistry.

  • I effin' love this song, listen to it everyday

  • Joey Baron is as tight as a crabs ass at low tide

  • Kermit Driscoil is an amazing bass player, but his tone here is way to abrasive for my taste.

In my opinion, it detracts from the breezy groove of the song.

  • agreed

  • my goodness..whew

  • I agree about missing this band. He's been doing some gigs with Joey again I think. I loved the earlier version with Hank Roberts, too. I heard him not long ago with Tim Berne and it was just fantastic. Hank's been playing with Bill, too, just not with this band. Bill's my fav. Nobody else like him with all the different facets of his musicianship.

  • you can hear this trio too in his great pedagogic vidéo!

  • are there any frisell albums with just this trio?

  • There is one that I can think of off the top of my head and that is the "Live" album. Most of his earlier stuff were with these two, but they were often accompanied by others as well.

  • yer I have that live album. its great. thanks for the help. I'll pick up some of there older stuff

  • there is the " live" , for me the best trio group ever heard , and too 2 albums on buster keaton films , great but not so exciting than the live

  • Frisell is amazing. Really his own man...he marches to no one else's beat.

What's up with this guitar? W/ tele neck pickup? Gibson vol and tone knobs...weird shape.

Man of many guitars. You get the sense this guy could pick up a K-mart guitar and get the same tone.

    Phenomenal phrasing and fluidity.

Check the break on this tune at about 3:45.

He's got this patented way of splitting the head of a tune wide open and letting everything spill out in this screaming emotional way.

  • I think it's a Klein guitar..

  • sure is check out jody fisher

  • i know of him - he's killer!

  • more like steinberger but i might be wrong

  • Man thats nice stuff. Don't need a million notes--just the right ones. And those guys really feel like a band. Great communication, like Joey G was saying.

  • One of the great trios. Aspiring bass players listen to all the space that Kermit Driscoll uses and how he plays off of everything Joey and Bill do.

  • Is there anything better than this? Magical.

  • wondrous! thanks for sharing.

  • Really like the bass on this one.

  • I'm enraptured by Driscoll's playing on this one.

  • i have the 2disc bootleg of this show, which is great. it's nice to see some of the footage; it there more?

  • This is one of my favorite Frisell compositions, and I've never heard it in a trio setting. I kept checking the running time at the bottom, wondering what was going to happen as it went on, and then around four minutes -- BANG! I love it! Is his amazing version of "Live To Tell" online at all?

  • amazing musicians

  • Beautiful. After all these year this is still my favorite setting for Bill. The telepathy between Kermit and Joey is scary. I miss this band.

  • Nice tune!
