  • none of these kids need mind bending drugs. period.

  • so much fail.

  • Louis Theroux has a kind and patient approach. Very likeable.

  • People trust their doctors way too much. Physicians, Psychiatrists, Counselors, Dentists even - way too much respect and authority.

  • Fuck those kind of parents.

  • lol@everyone here. they claim to know exactly how to handle these kids and how to take the necessary measures to "fix" them.

  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder. After reading the article on that, I was aghast at how ridiculous it sounds. They might as well diagnose these kids with Oxygen Inhalation Disorder, and hey, while they're at it (for a few extra bucks) lets tag in Carbon Exhalation Syndrome, JUST TO BE SAFE.

  • Jack @16:00 is Dewey from Malcolm in the Middle

  • He still forgot his book behind the door....

  • Tv,preservatives, sugars etc.All these things add up to over stimulated minds that will overreact/ explode at some stage. School systems of today has completely gone academic prone and is ignoring childrens artistic/ diverse thinking and physical requirement, it is straight out boring and only some children can exell in such enviroment. There are other school options like Rudolph steiner, montesorri schools that respect that everyone is different. Be a parent not a freind, do your job guide them

  • These kids are just brats. Hating your mom because she made you take a shower? lol. Annoying brat and he's a dirt ass on top of it.

  • I don't know why they put Jack on medication just because he hates losing. Look at Bob Knight, John McEnroe and a host of other people who are sore losers. I think you need to teach them social skills and not just pop pills into them and have them draw thermometers. What a crock of shit.

  • Wut he's not annoying. He's hot. So hot.

  • 50:28 holy shit he's right. google it. this kid is a genious

  • @fdalkjfdsalkj It is "dugong" not "dungong" I think that kid is smart but he thinks he is alot smarter than he is. but then again most all kids think they know more than they do.

  • 24:15 hugh always rooted for the bad guy in disney movies. that is awesome.

  • Anti-psychotic's are going to turn that kids brain to mash.. Tardive akathisia before your teens, yay

  • meds are the lazy parents solution...honestly if a kid is antisocial they MUST have autism, if a kid is a bit hyper or cant concentrate in school its not cause school is boring its cause they MUST have ADHD. *eyeroll*

  • @chocchipcookiegirl I totally agree with you. the schools now don't really teach, they indoctrinate. they don't test your knowledge or your skills they just make sure you can regurgitate all the bs they feed you, and they make sure you "act" the way the want you to. If school was not more akin to a prison system I think kids could enjoy it much more. the parent's never stop to think that maybe, just maybe school is not the same as it was for them when they went to school.

  • hughs parents make me sick. they wont even try to get him off his meds? try parenting you lazy assholes

  • fucking big pharma

  • Okay...the aspergers kid doesent have aspergers. Hes a highly intelligent sociopath. That kid is fucking scary. I feel sorry for his little sister, ive been on the recieving end of abusive sibling rivalry and i get the feeling shes got it even worse than i did and i had it really bad. Maves living with a monster.

  • @susanstormborn Oh wow you were being kinda judgemental in your statement. The kid were upppset on his sister because she know's he's different and in that perspecive she using it against him. It's his way to "protect himself".

  • jesus you cant medicate children like this. Its just lack of parenting. Also aspergers is a high functioning form of autism, medication does nothing, you have to drill the kid repetivaley to reconize facial expressions and teach them good manners with repetition. On another note when kids dont focus in school its because school is boring. Thats not a disorder, its just a normal reaction. Kids today are overworked and overscheduled, just leave them alone and let them daydream some, its healthy.

  • Hugh is going to end up killing someone, he seems more like a sociopath!

  • Anyone noticed how that kid at the beginning has supressed emotions. No facial expression. When he tries to get emotional his throat constricts...

Btw. human body is fully complete at the age of 25. If one gives prozac to a kid, one will effectively create a retard, just because of the tri-fluoride molecule. Fluoride was so fun when I tested its effect on the neurons :-D after seeing its effect i never brushed teeth with fluoride paste.

  • @AnarkiCZ

Hugh did express degrees of emotion and also fidgeted and did other distracting things while being confronted with something emotional, a perfectly natural thing that most of us do.

I'm surprised people have branded him a psychopath or sociopath in other comments.

  • @AnarkiCZ Yeah because you are one of the few that realize what's up with these "medicines". You saw the fluoride just utterly destroy neurons right? Why and How could you ever do that to your children!? You give them to the state when they are born, You let the state "educate" them, you let the "system" drug your children when the state school brings it up, and the whole while you stupidly but honestly believe it is for their benefit!! WTF is wrong with people. Wake the fuck up to what's real..

  • No kid needs meds, all they need is attention, freedom and love. Get it or condemn your own children. If you dont love them, obvious think is to drug them. Good job, just w8 till the same thing happens to you!

  • I don't think meds are the ultimate problem solvers. Parents should just devote more time in raising them and giving them love especially if they are more problematic than their peers. Not drugging them because they don't behave according to their concepts. Meds are easy, but who said parenting must be also? Mental illness is very questionable in kids, it usually evolves later in proportions of social abnormality. Not to mention the harm they do to the brain of not yet developed kids.

  • @DeyaGrey I agree 100% Nobody said being a parent would be easy. I also have a problem with defining what is "normal" behavior for kids. Kids do everything & try everything & it's really hard to tell when something is really wrong vs a phase they will get over. There are indicators but I'm not a child expert. Nonetheless, it's still hard to identify & we have no idea what these meds may do to them long term. We don't even have long term data on adults, much less children who are still developing

  • @DeyaGrey Some of these new anti psychotics are less than 10 yrs old & have a similar action to meds that caused tardive dyskinesia in adults. They expect fewer side effects but that's far from a guarantee. Especially in someone who is still developing. Mylenation (insulating layer on nerve cells) isn't complete until the early 20s. That's kinda scary. IMO Meds, especially heavy duty meds should be viewed as a last option but so often parents want a quick easy fix & don't research it much.

  • Some kids really do need meds but they are not a magic pill to fix everything & are way overused nowadays. Parents & psychs need to realize how these meds will effect their kids long term. Aside from physical aspects it will stigmatize them. It can effect opportunities in their future like jobs that need security clearances, gun ownership etc. Is it worth it for something like hyperactivity that they may outgrow. Basically meds are a big deal & the big picture needs to looked at before deciding

  • @shananagans5 who wants to wear guns anyway!? in the states maybe, yeah.

  • @DeyaGrey You would be amazed how many jobs need a security clearance & given the % of people that own guns & enjoy target shooting, hunting or need one for work risking that is an issue. Especially if it is a parent trying to medicate normal child behavior away. I see parents all the time that expect their children to act like little adults. They are not little adults and what was considered normal 30 yrs ago is often viewed as pathological nowadays.

  • @shananagans5 Well all I can say is that your system that allows almost everyone to wear a gun makes you one of the countries with highest criminal rate. And I'm happy I don't need to live in a constant fear as you do. That's freedom to me.

  • @DeyaGrey Well, actually, the murder rates in the US are misleading. We have lots of gangs killing each other. If you are not involved in criminal activity yourself, your chance of being murdered is a bit less than most of Europe & the chances of being seriously assaulted but not killed is notably less. If you are female like me, and not a criminal you are much safer in the US. Our rates of murder & sexual assault on women is 1/5 of the UK rate. Basically we have lots of gangs killing each other

  • @shananagans5 Is that what your goverment is telling to comfort you? I have a lot of friends from the states, and everyone is talking about violence and fear of going outside especially in the night. Our cities are so safe nothing ever happens to you, even if you take a long walk at 2 am. You should probably come around and see it for yourself. :)

  • @DeyaGrey Depends on which city & area you are in. There are bad areas I would never go out in. Other areas you are perfectly safe. lol Yea, the media here it trying to scare the pants off of people but I study crime for a living so I know whats rational fear & whats not. We are actually at a 40 yr low overall & gangs are killing each other at record rates, Basically violent crime is very focused on small groups. It's fascinating in that it is a very unusual pattern compared internationally

  • @shananagans5 Nice talking to you :)

  • @DeyaGrey Nice talking to you too. Have a great day. :) Well, evening for you I guess.

  • @DeyaGrey LOL How did we get on guns? The film is on medicating children. I mentioned putting a child on meds could limit their future opportunities but the mention of guns was a minor point. The main point, or my intended main point, was limiting job opportunities that require security clearance which is an awful lot of the good jobs out there.

  • @DeyaGrey I was hyper as a child. I needed to get outside & run & work it out. I am now a criminologist/forensic psychologist & I would not have been able to have the career I have now if my parents wanted to put me on meds instead of letting me run around & be a kid. Yes, some kids do need meds but there are lots of parents that want their kids to act like little adults & turn to meds in an attempt to make them act like little adults.

  • those parents are worth shit, with all due resepct.

  • The kid doesn't like losing? :|

  • Dog on medication? Oh dear...

  • Tamra = hot.

  • The parents don't want to blame themselves for bad parenting so they can just blame it on mental illness to take that feeling of guilt or responsibility for raising the child

most of these parents seem content when the kid is obeying them and not bothering them

  • 28.50 "his taking it really well" hahahaha

  • @07dowlingj P.s. I'm a Englishman so most Americans are weird to me aniways

  • @proni1 I spose most colored folk just beat there kids into submission. But of course in most cases that ain't trust me m8 these are just as weird to me as they are to you...

  • i cant be good in school because of my ocd. get the fuck outta here, half these kids need a swift backhand, instant cure

  • white folks are crazy.

  • Very good, very fair presentation.

  • It seems irresponsible to only focus on the "after" picture. They ought to include footage of violent or suicidal six year olds who haven't yet been treated. A teenage girl who goes off her adhd medications for a morning and feels funny is an insufficient insight into the needs for medication.

  • @markycrady they do show one of the kids off meds

  • Thanks! Jack's Mom is so even-keel. She's awesome!

  • Enjoy!

  • @TheRaspyshoes thx!

  • @TheRaspyshoes Thanks.
