  • Beautiful noise. Play loud!

  • * * * * *

  • This is when the Stones were the real deal. Not the corporate sponsored, arena darlings that bankers and executives buy tickets for today.

  • amor violento!!!

  • Big fave!

  • Great sound for 1964. The public albums was so bad at this time, even the

officials albums. N I had never be able to hear the first live of the stones on my old machine in the sixties

Sure the sound had be cleaned up, Good !

Never hear this version, Thanks for uploading the songs of the beginning.

the stones was themselves great fans of all kind of music, untill they

mixed all to do their own . thinks of the "shaker "on sympathy for the devil

A frenchy of 51 years old fan

  • I'm partial to the Love You Live version myself. This one's still pretty nice though.

  • bbc version cleaned up

    i know this anywhere

  • CHI HA UCCISO BRIAN JONES ?

  • I've never heard this early version of Crackin' Up--only their Reggae revamp of it on Black and Blue from '76. Thanks for uploading it.

  • This and Beatle Paul's versions o' this song're the same cool

  • That is gorgeous, thankyou.

  • Steaming! Keef was great on backing vocals - the imperfection is perfect.

  • Years ago when I was "on the air" I would intro a Stones record by never saying their name. I would just scream into the mike "THE GREATEST ROCK&ROLL BAND IN THE WORLD" !! I got a lot of CRAP for that from Program Directors and station managers BUT TURNED OUT I WAS RIGHT !!!

  • Years ago when I was ON THE AIR I quit intro-ing the STONES with their name I'd jus open the mike and SHOUT-OUT. "THE GREATEST ROCK&ROLL BAND IN THE WORLD" I got a lot of CRAP for that in those days. BUT I WAS RIGHT!!!

  • What a GREAT COMPLIMENT to "BO DIDDLEY" sounds good.

  • Bo Diddley once said that Brian Jones could really play his music and not just imitate it. The Rolling Stones version of Diddley's song "Mona" is further proof that Brian could authentically play Bo's great music. Thanks for posting this.

  • Bo Diddley once said that Brian Jones truly played his music and that he did not just imitate it. The Rolling Stones version of Diddley's song Mona is further evidence of Brian's ability to authentically play Bo's great music. Thanks for posting this.

  • @kodifeeder Unlike many other bands and performers and other record companies the Rolling Stones actually made sure that Bo got paid his royalties as composer. Diddley's version is far superior but the Stones do a competent job here in imitation of their hero.

  • This song has an undescribable rolling quality that just jells unlike any other early cover by the group. The bass and Brian's Diddley guitar way up top just make it.

  • Good one.

  • thats was the kind of music in thoses years

  • cheers

  • Truly The Greatest Rock And Roll Band in the world...

  • Great Song !!!!!!!! Who's assisting on the vocals ?? Brian??

  • Keith and Brian (:

  • keith and a little bit of Brian harmonizing

  • Thanks for posting stones are just the best ever

  • my sense of lifeRoLlInG*

  • Precious gem!

    mucha gracias rocker!

  • W-W-WHAT? in the 64????

  • Yes, live in 1964.

  • Precious gem

    thanks, gracias rocker!!!

    Fabio

  • ...where are you getting this from...????

  • awsome song

  • you can hear this on LOVE YOU LIVE -A LIVE ALBUM FROM 77

  • fucking awesome

  • I've been a Rolling Stones fan for more than 40 years, and thought I knew all their early stuff - but I've never heard this before, and I loved it. Where did it come from? It's not on any of the early singles, albums or E.P.s that I own. A site like this is great for exciting new surprises like this. Thanks for posting.

  • if you like this version, hear the love you live <(1976) version live... it's awesome with armonic guitar solo and piano too!

  • I just did, and I prefer this '64 version.

  • oh yeah the luv you live i prefer although this i awesome too but it sounds to

    50`s style or something!!

  • well they have to try something new -i think it sounds more bob marley

  • it does sound VERY bob marley... never made that connection before. especially his earlier stuff. trenchtown rock, soul rebel, mr brown those kind of songs..

  • Loved this! First time I'd heard this version, also love the Love You Live track.

  • love you live is excelent :P

  • This is absolutely ACE. Thanks for posting it.

  • They do a kick ass version on love you live - the el mocambo side with around and around - smokin!

  • check out the izzy stradlin version

  • they did a better job covering you gotta move this version of crackin up doesnt have the original's edge

  • There's a great live version of this song done by the stones as well. i think from the 70's.

  • Great version of the song, the Stones are legend!

  • Muito bem postado! Adoro essa música! Conhecia só a versão do Love You Live. Procuro a original do Bo Diddley, e não acho...

  • That's a Bo Diddly song. They do it well.

  • Well done Luis--they do a beautiful version of this one.

  • I tend to like the rollingstones1965 stuff..

  • is this live in bbc?

    od where

  • Yep, BBC, and only there as far as I know. The official Stones At The Beeb-release should have been out to the public a long time ago, if there was any justice in this world. Which it isn't. Instead, work your way thru the internet jungle and grab the Beat Beat Beat At the Beeb 2CD. You're gonna treasure it and love it to pieces. Really.

  • EXCELLENT !! Thank You!

  • who sings the backup ?? i dont think its brian jones, sounds like keith and bill wyman but im not sure, anyone know?

  • It's Keith Richards.

  • ElmoLewiss I always look to your answers!!!!! My opinion and it is just that is that it sounds like Keith and Brian. Brian has a raspy voice when singing and the high harmony sounds raspy. Brian was still attempting to sing back up in 64..... I would like to hear your opinion.

  • The Love You Live version is the best - I keep it on several mixtapes.

  • Great Song The Rolling Stones

    5 *****

    Thank 60suploader for sharing

  • "The Rolling Stones Chess Recordings." First Time I hear of this recordings here in Germany.

  • But this recording is a live one, on a concert on London.

    Thanks for watching.

  • Incredible ! Didn't know that lovely version !

  • I'll always take 1963-5 stones before the 70s stones

  • @TDKIII Totally spot on. Well, I'd go right out to Let it Bleed, actually. But for sure, the very very best is the early period you spec'd out there.

  • @TDKIII

I'll take '65-'68 Stones over that.

  • @TDKIII i hear ya!

  • the love you live version is like the best stones song ever. this is pretty good

  • I was going to say the same as Beatlestone. The Love You LIve version is excellent. Good post.

  • RIP Bo Diddley. One of the originals...

  • @manubxl I think you just answered my question, a Bo Diddley song This is one of the very few Stones record I don't have and the very very few I've never before thanks

  • Thanks very much for this. Just when I think I've heard every last thing they've recorded someone pulls another one out! How appropriate I heard it today. RIP Bo Diddley.

  • I guess the stones never recorded this song, this is a live audio.
