I wasn't a Dale Earnhardt fan, but cried like a BIG BABY on that day. I remember I was on my way home from Tyler, Texas when I got a call that Dale died...that was the most shocking moment. I know we're not suppose to be shocked whenever somebody dies because one day everybody will go. RIP Dale!!

I was there at the Daytona 500 in 2001 when he died. My dad hadn't been that upset since his dad died before I was born. He had to be talked into going to the races again since Earnhardt had always been his favorite.

When Dale Jr. won the Pepsi 400 later that year (we were there) I don't think there was a dry eye in the stadium. Was epic.

absolutely erik but, remember this is a tribute to his death, and one of the unfortunate truths was sterling was villified and sent hate mail including death threats days weeks and months later, andd frankly i wouldnt doutt that he still does in small amounts. tho its not right it did happen so there must be something about it to tell the whole story/
