  • U guys are all stupid, its not like the car is stock by any means, throw some high compression forged pistons and other forged internals and any motor can run 10's N/A. I cant argue the fact that good power to weight ratio is great, but either way its still highly modified, its nowhere near stock. Throw some 14-15:1 compression pistons in a 6 or 8 and see what happens, ur basically running a turbo without the turbo, the bigger the motor the more the power to weight changes for any application.

If u see it in person, it looks nothing like a street car haha. its a 2.0L NA B series making less than 300 whp in the video but its now making 850 WHP with some boost. ;) I mite upload a video if I get the chance if you want to see it. I love LS v8s too but my friend is running mid 12s with his 383sbc and street tires. We'll see what happens after a 75 shot of nitrous though. Look up Ericks Racing :)

  • Toyota uses VVTI which advances and retards the intake cam on most models, some have it in intake and exhaust. Toyotas VVTLI does the same as VVTI plus uses a secondary cam profile for high rpm use. Hondas VTEC uses a larger cam profile for high rpm use. Many all-out drag Hondas will use a VTEC engine but eliminate the VTEC function and use a very agressive cam profile. Maybe you should learn the facts before you go and try to be an E-thug!

    Anyway, yes I am retarded, apparently there are some NA Hondas putting up these kinds of numbers. How they are doing this is beyond me, I suppose with enough N2O anything is possible /=0P. Also I have owned and worked on Hondas (as well as many other brands) for the past 10 years. I've done everything from oil changes to whole engine swaps.

Second N2O in NOT forced induction, it does not raise the pressure of the intake charge, it only acts as an oxidizer. Also I seriously doubt ANY engine around 2 liters is going to make enough power to run 9s or 10s in the 1/4. If they do PROVE IT.

  • I've done more than a few valve adjustments, timing belts, LSD install, a tranny rebuild, clutch replacements, axle replacements, tranny swaps, etc, etc. Never had to replace broken parts because I've never had an engine that failed.

  • I forgot these cars are stripped, so maybe they don't use N2O. They don't even make 400 hp as far as I can tell, but 300+ is certainly possible.

    By that literal principle alone, containing the words 'forced' and 'induction' (not to mention by physics, engineering, and social principles), NO2 is considered forced induction.

    Also by physics, it does increase the intake pressure, because NO2 expands very rapidly, creating more mass that displaces the original aspirated air.

Because the N2O only DISPLACES the intake charge it doesn't actually add much to the pressure of it.

    Displacement occurs when mass is added, requiring all gases in an enclosed space to condense, increasing the total pressure. It's not significantly higher inside the manifold because it's expanding cold (versus hot like from a compressor), but psi inside the cylinder at TDC is equal to that achieved from an external compressor.

  • Cool. Point is that the intake charge is not being forced into the cylinder by any mechanical device, the engine is still relying on atmospheric pressure to force the intake charge into the cylinder. It's still considered naturally aspirated to most in the racing world.

    The thing I missed about these 9 second Hondas is that they are in an all motor class, not just a naturally aspirated class. No N2O is allowed.
