What is an ideal price to pay for an excellent condition M6? Good condition? Can you also tell me what to look for when buying a used M6? Thanks again and great video.
@BahGolfer I'd say $1400 is the most you'll want to pay for a used M6. Keep an eye out for M6's that have developed the dreaded paint bubbling issue due to the zinc top plate. Otherwise, make the sure viewfinder is clear, no marks on the framelines, condition of the shutter, all speeds working correctly (helps to bring an accurate timer), focusing accuracy of the rangefinder itself etc. Also check the battery compartment for corrosion.
@8AxeProductions8 The only thing is I'm buying on Ebay since there are no Leicas available where I live. I guess I can ask the seller all those questions. I'm also looking for a 50mm summicron. How much did you pay for yours if you don't mind me asking? l want a summilux but that is too expensive. So is owning a Leica M6 worth the hassle of getting the film developed and scanned? Thanks again mate.
@BahGolfer A current version 50mm summicron would go for around $2000, mine was just under that in excellent condition. Also keep an eye out for the chrome versions which looks far more pleasing IMO.
Each film emulsion is going to have its own aesthetic, compared to digital which always looked a bit dull and clinical to me. You can easily develop B&W at home (I'll be uploading a complete guide soon), and most photo labs will process C-41 and slide colour film.
@8AxeProductions8 Yes! I finally bought an M6 TTL version and a 50 summicron. Paid $100 US over what you recommended but it's a TTL and according to the ad it's 9.5 out of 10. We'll see when I get it. The 50 cron is in pristine condition type 4 w/out the built in lens hood. I was going to get a cheaper Nikon FM2 but it is the Leica mystique and the rangefinder experience that keeps me wanting to have it. Your vid was the last deciding factor to go with the M6. Thanks.
I'm thinking of buying a leica m6 but wanted to know different between normal and ttl, and I wear glasses do you thing .75 will be fine or should I get .58?
What a terrific video tour! Thanks so much for taking the time. This is invaluable to us M-rookies about to venture on the expense journey of a lifetime (cough...cough... m6-ttl 0.85)
@zhemin I agree, it's just with digital that there's a tendency to want to upgrade whenever a new body is released, with film, any Leica M is pretty much the top of the line for 35mm. Enjoy your M2, I'd love one someday to complement the M6.
What do you think about your 50's focus throw? I'm kinda worried about that, as I'm purchasing a 50 sometime this month.

Is that something shading the frame line window? I finally experienced the dreaded flare while I was using my M6 today...

@heavensSinner324 Yep, it's the "SHADE" product from Leicagoodies. Works fantastically.

Ahaha spec on a m9 is not perfect but its definatly good enough for maybe next 10-20year ;'D
Simply because it shoots raw ^.^
I highly doubt it be 1000$ dollars anytime soon ;'O but i definatly wouldnt spend that much money on a digital body, unless if it makes me money.
I use a M2 and is great ;'D so warmed out Love it ^.^
