@tackanderson - It's nice to sit on a bench with your DOPE sheet & calibrated Night Force scope (S&Bender... etc) but try this event for fun, ...with a 3X10 fine-plex, .270 cal hunting rifle (like me). Off hand, sitting, prone & some unspupported... Why don't you challenge yourself and use something other than your $5,000+ custom shop rig. There are as many competitions/course set up variations as there shooters... I don't see you in ANY competition videos or even as a side bar mention...
"An idiot" nice board manners "omgimsoborednow" I ended my post with "But I will leave you with this, if you guys enjoy it, who am I to rain on your parade. Enjoy". I shoot calculated distances twice a week and my sniper rig is capable of 1 shot strikes out to 800 yards using my "DOPE" sheet every time. This is why I don't see the challenge. Try a 3 stage tactical course and write back, I think you will agree that one is like tying shoes, the other is like doing math while carrying a piano!
@tackanderson Youre right, Im sorry. I mis-stated. Youre an arrogant, self righteous elitist incapable of the tienciest level of humility necessary to be able to allow others to indulge in a pastime of their choosing without disparaging the "obvious" deficiencies. Also, qualifying said disparagement at the end of a statement is disingenuous. It would be far more credible to offer to assistance to anyone who cares to participate in the more technical discipline that you advocate.
Sorry but this is the most ridicules event I've ever seen. What's the point here? Guys walking around taking a 1 on 1 with a known distance target. What's with the walking? Step up and create a tactical course? . Timed rounds, NO known distances, moving targets, triangular shots, target identification F/F and even jump shots. What you guys are doing is golfing with guns. Where's the challenge? But I will leave you with this, if you guys enjoy it, than hey..who am I to rain on your parade. Enjoy.
Youre an idiot. Clearly you have no real experience shooting at long range.
Also you didnt even listen to the vid. The rounds are time limited and the terain is varied creating what is essentially a tactical long range scenario. The whole point of providing ranges is twofold. First it eleminates a redudnant step considering todays laser range finder capabilities and second it expidites the process considering that at the last event there were 45 shooters to run 10 stations.
It took 8 hours to run the entire course and that is a challenge in its self. Not to mention if it were so freakin easy everybody would be shooting 100%. Just go to the web site. You'll see that its a challenge for everyone. If you dont believe me go try it for your self. ...On second thought, dont. The last thing this great bunch of guys needs is a knowitall prima-dona like you to spoil a good time!!
