Twayne, I so agree with you! It is simply one of the greatest!!! There is another version by the song's writer, I believe it is Gary White, that I can't find on youtube, but if you want to hear an equally good version by a male voice, you will find it worth while.

Beautiful song from a beautiful, beautiful lady. The photos of her around the four minute mark are from around the time when Linda recorded this song. She was only around 23 or 24 at the time and her vocal suggested the pain and sadness of lost love was quite real for her. I think this is the most affecting song ever recorded by her. And certainly her best.

What a beautiful pairing of singer and song. It's refined and elegant with the instruments complementing not competing with Linda's amazing voice. She was so young when she recorded this but she sings with the emotion and wisdom of an old soul. It's been called by DJs the saddest song ever recorded but it's also one of the most beautiful. I love this song and find it still moving as the first time.

Take it from one who grew up with Linda in Tucson, she's a great mom as well as a national treasure, and her health is not bad these days, but she's very busy being a mom, too. It's all the more amazing she finds time to do an occasional tour or occasional singing date.
