  • Lars is a massive douche.

  • UMMM wheres Les Claypool??

  • @CueBaLLonE1 They were intimidated by his level of talent.

  • lars is a faget

  • metallica fucking blows...tick tick tick tock my fucking ballsack

  • robert is like the best replacement for cliff. i saw metallica live last year and they played ktulu.. damn! he nailed it!!!! i forgot something: hi cliff!!!!!

  • yea Robert was the good choice lol i can't imagine any of those other guy's in the band.

  • 3:37 he got it wrong xDDDD

  • "since Cliff" mad me almost cry...

    i'm just imagining Rob's feelings...

    "Hai, you're in Metallica"

    ".........."

I never liked him, but after seeing his audition i must reconsider... Based on the other contestant's faces, id's say he's the only one that had a lot of fun playing. He was like "Yeah who cares, i'm playing with Metallica, i don't care if it's just one or two songs. They are the fucking Metallica!"

  • Can you imagine if they had chosen Twiggy?!?! This would've been soooo weird! I mean, I love Twiggy, but he's no metallica material. He's freaking Twiggy who dresses up as schoolgirls with bad make-up and gets blowjobs from Marilyn! He belongs to MM, it could not be any other way. I think, Trujillo was the best choice they could make.

  • AN INSULT TO CLIFF BURTON

    ALL THOSE BASSISTS SUCKS

    INCLUDES ROBERT TRUJJILO

  • @Murraybethyname You're mentally incapable of a sensible sentence or thought aren't you.

  • Trujillo's like, blah blah blah, shut up and give me a bass

  • i hate my job

  • ninguno va a poder iguaar a cliff burton

  • Hey Lars Cliff Burton wouldnt show up today cause he would have left your band

  • Its about what I feel ..What a homo

  • 6:18 brlllrlrlrlrlrllrlrlrlrl JAJAJKakjaJKAJJAKJKA

  • lars SUCK MY BALLS

  • here's a million dollars to get you inspired

    . lol

  • BLULALALALAL

  • shoulda been on day 666!!

  • that album would have been 100 times better if Les was with them.

  • @wuphf No, it would not.

Nothing could've made St. Anger good.

  • Scott Reeder owns.

  • ;ETALLICA ULTRA SUCKS, its faggot think,

    Les Claypool. and Buckethead Rulez

Too cool for you old POPULAr Old faggots

    to fag mainstream

  • 3:37 EXTREME FAIL ( º_º)"

  • @SanAntonio501 3:45 I think this one was even worse :S

  • lars can just be kinda a douche somtimes. not trying to offend anyone if i did... just my opinion

  • 2:53 (lars mind) ohh shit battery!!!

  • is it just me or did kirks voice sounds like shit in that tick tick tock recording he was doing.

  • @diSmaLdrOp kirk?

  • They all probably sounded good........until "Bells"........that intro deserves a very clean, fluent bassist to treat it like it should be treated

  • it was my childhood dream to play with metallica :P

  • I always thought lars was a bit of a tool at times. My cousin's husband who has worked for security at a few of their concerts when Jason was around confirmed that lol. James apparently is a real chill guy to hang out with, while Kirk & Jason kinda did their own thing.

  • I can't picture Jeordie in the band. It just wouldn't look right. Plus, Jeordie does what he does for the music and with Metallica, well, they pretty much just do it for the money nowadays. Not that I don't like their music. Hell, I even enjoyed St. Anger. But, at this point, they're just souless, money grubbers.

  • nobody replace to the KING CLIFF BURTON!

  • twiggy sound very heavy...but trujillo is the best

  • "if cliff burton showed up today, maybe he wouldn't be the right bass player for metallica"

    wow

the magic left with cliff, metallica is just a name ever since.

  • lars is a prick

  • What a bunch of douches...

  • Who would WANT to be a part of metallica? They're such a disfunctional band...I mean, I'm not going at their music or anything and I'm not saying this just because I'm not a fan, but c'mon, guys, you can feel there's like a lot of anger betweent them...

Lars especially has the mind of a child...

I'm probably going to get bashed, but c'mon, can't you guys see it?

  • @KurdtKobain09 I do

  • Why didn`t they audition a new drummer while at it

  • @MakkaPakka666 because they would need A new drummer + A new Acountant + A new PR bullshitter.

  • @MakkaPakka666 a new drummer? how about A drummer?

  • @roastbeefdinner

watch some of the videos with james and robert playing, i think james is way better

  • he's got the crushing bass .. cool~ hahahahaha~

  • No one is going to "SOUND" like Cliff, but the closest they've been... they're there now!!!!

    Good Luck!!!

FFE...except for your crappy songs (i.e. everything after the "Black" Album")...

    Sorry

  • Where they actually being serious about the $1 million?

  • when they were talking near the end, they seamed like really boring guys

  • All I saw was a bunch of bassists with horrible technique getting crushed by Rob Trujillo.

I mean, really? Metallica isn't even all that hard as far as metal goes. If it wasn't necessary to get a big-name player, they'd be neck high in fantastic death metal bassists.

  • Obviously a tougher replacement audition than 1986 because the band was ascending back then and was not the corporate entity that they are today. Clearly must have been a lot guys who were there for the money or were more advanced musically than the group or were from different generation, etc. From clips shown Trujillo was only who really had his heart in it. I also got impression that a lot of guys trying out were secretly wondering why anyone would choose to leave such a famous band.

  • One Mirrion Dorrah?!

  • pepper on bass?

  • I bet Robert gets it.

  • I think some of the guys who auditioned where turned off by the corporation side of Metallica Pepper Keenan included

  • A Musicman, Good choice Robert!!!

  • Comment removed

  • He chose the Music Man bass. Thats why he got the gig.

  • Oh man, I'm not so sure about this. This band sucks now, they can't live without therapists around 24/7, they're on guitar hero and mission impossible, Lars only knows how to speak in "I feel" statements... oh... a million....dollars you say....well fuck yeah, I never had a doubt in my mind.

  • Good thing Pepper didn't get the gig (Y)

  • @evilkingganon707 He never intended to. James wanted him to audition since Pepper was in town at that time, but Pepper's committed to DOWN.

  • 1:37 dick dick dick dick dick dick dick Cock!!

  • james owned lars =D

  • ya ya ya twiggy :D

  • Damn , hetfield's fuckin' taller than I thought!

  • @SlashvsAdamSadler nah, kirk and lars are small dude :P

  • 4:18 - 4:22 WTF?

  • this is why KYUSS split, scott wanted to go mainsteam and get money and josh wanted to play music with heart,he wanted to end kyuss on a high note,so i am acctually happy they didnt take scott reader

  • Les claypool should have gotten the gig.

  • @junkman134 I am curious to hear what the band would have been like if les got in there

  • @towliehasnoidea Lars would need to be replaced if Les was to play bass.

  • @towliehasnoidea They told Les he was too good for Metallica, lol

  • @towliehasnoidea same here..

  • @junkman134 Les is one of the greatest bass player of all time in my opinion, but i also think that he's not and never will be the right man for Metallica

  • Comment removed

  • @robinbourgeois True story, bro.

  • BOB ROCK SUCKS, and LARS IS A BITCH

  • Lars sucks

  • SCOTT. FUCKING. REEDER.

  • This Lars Ulrich guy is a pain in the ass ... He'd be the first one I#d kick out ... I don't know what he contributes to the band, but he's definitely the weakest link of the band (as a drummer )

  • @dockaiser o my god he's kinda the one who kicked of the whole thing, he put an ad in the paper and james answered it, you need to get your facts straight b4 u can make an assole comment like that.

  • @Th3M45T3RCH13F I fortunately have better things to do than "getting my facts straight" on this band ... mf

  • @dockaiser classic noob comment obv not a metallica fan. /m/

  • Trujillo is an OUT OF THIS WORLD amazingly talented and technical bass player. Been following this guy since he played his ass off on Suicidal´s Light, Camera... Revolution and Infectious Grooves, but I truly don´t believe that Metallica is or will be showcasing his flawless talent 100%. I was really expecting SO much of Trujillo´s signatures on Death Magnetic and he just wasnt there that much. Hopefully on their next record, the can benefit of his awesome bass playing and composition.

  • I wish they had chosen Pepper Keenan....

  • Robert Trujillo is soooooooooo hot!

  • Why doe James sing like that? Its so horrible. He needs to go back to the way he used to sing. He mixed in singing with a little bit of yelling. He use to have a great thrash metal voice. Not anymore...

  • @DonutBabyEating

U should consider watching the movie if u want the answer...

  • twiggy? he's more goth rock/death metal

  • cliff and billy sheehan are the reason i tossed the pick away

  • @coltsrule5150

Cliff was amazing... u can't compare yourself to that kind of tallent!(or can you?)... it's not known until you prove yourself to your peers... but i understand the conflict...

Did it myself for years... and for some reason,... was called the "John Lennon" of Berkeley???

Do your best, and you can't fail..........

    t.j.2012

  • @jlennon2010 im no where near either cliff or billy sheehan in talent lol

just saying that they influenced me to throw the pic away and pick with my fingers

i also forgot to mention a few other now that im back on this page

geddy lee, jaco pastorious, stu hamm to name a quick few

  • @coltsrule5150 Why? Picks give a different tone which can be nice for certain types of music. Sometimes pick, sometimes fingers - why limit yourself?

  • @heftyal I agree

  • @heftyal playing with your fingers gives a lot more warmer sound imo

if the song calls for a pick sure i wont mind picking one up

but if you go back to the earlier bass players none played with a pick, and thats who influenced me,but on the other hand i had bassists like duff mchagan from GnR and jason newstead,so i pick one up

but for the most part seeing a bass player playing with no pick to old school bassists its a sign of status and cant to many do it

  • @coltsrule5150 thats right...i dont like the picked bass sound except for songs or segments that actually require it... other than that the basic bass sound should be finger picked

  • Rob sucks

  • SCOTT REEDER RE MOUNIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Like Metallica, but Suicidal and infectious were far better bands

  • Scott reed with his unique style rocks!!

  • I would hate to see Twatty Ramirez in Metallica.

  • Only a million bucks? Thats how much james by walking in the door

  • I wish...SO wish, that they never hooked up with Bob Rock. He's a great producer, but not for this style of music. My god....he changed this band so much. People don't realize that his direct influence really pushed, steered Metallica into what they've become. He had less control over them during the Black Album, which is why they maintained their style for the most part....then after it's more comercial success, they said "Well, I guess we should do whatever Bob says...". And here we are....

  • It was the right decision. Rob was a good influence in order for them to do the "Death Magnetic",..best Metallica album in years....

  • Great choice for tallica' Rob is a bass guitar god!

  • 0:56 easy Rob, easy

  • Comment removed

  • Lars is the biggest fucking pussy! I hope he dies of cancer!

  • Why... Why Trujillo? *Facepalm*

  • 'Its not about what he says, it about what I feel.'' :D:D:D:D Gooooo Lars!!!

  • God, to feel what Robert was feeling must of literally felt like a million dollars. Fuck my life sucks...

  • I think James lost his voice when he stopped drinking, lol, I mean, who knows...

I love Metallica but Im just not a fan of what it is now. I don't like Jame's voice, or Lars playing or attitude for that matter. Actually, the only person I still see the same is Kirk.

  • @MDC01FLY dont worry, their new stuff isnt the old style but a band like them cant afford to live in the past, they need to explore.

  • The marlyn manson bass player just fucking sucked at FWTBT.

  • @MpchermidafilhoA thats your opinion but jordie is a really good bass player

  • @ThaTruth223 Yeah, I kinda made a research and he is a goos bass player.

  • @ThaTruth223

Twiggy is a very underrated musician.. They were mad not to choose him.

  • Pepper Keenan > Metallica

yes and i am a huge metallica fan

  • Pepper Keenan ??? Are you kidding me??? This guy is a fucking genius!! He is an awesome guitar player, a bassist, a vocalist, a songwriter. He was doing both C.O.C and Down and wrote so many amazing songs. Pepper would have been perfect for Metallica,

You know what, second thoughts, Pepper is too good for them, he is doing great in Down

  • Thank fuck Les Claypool didn't join Metallica. He's way too good for them.

  • @TomasUjhelyi too good for them? but where is Les Claypool compared to Metallica? He is an awesome player but he would not fit in. Different style.

  • i is there a " SS " sticker, on a case in the background, as JAMES sing. look very carefully

at 1:34-1:36 and pause the vid. it's red and silver. are these guys racist ?. i grew up watching and loving their music.

  • @fervent66 Racist? I doubt it, since they hired a Hispanic bass player. I've followed these guys for 20 years and never heard of anything even remotely racist from them. Good catch seeing that though.

  • @BassmanSW YOU KNOW !!. i followed these guys too. back when their " KILL THEM ALL " vinyl / cassette came out. that would be weird to hire a HISPANIC bass player,

if they were really like that. thanks for the response. LONG LIVE METALLICA.

  • did jason got a million dollars back in the day?

  • @TheMorbidAsshole

Prolly not but he made quite few millions playing in the band anyway :D:D:D

  • I would like to know who the three guys were that James wanted to frankenstein, and what aspect of those three guys he liked!!!

  • "hey we wanna give you 1 million dollars just so you feel welcome here" loL

  • "R.I.P" Cliff Burton

  • @MrChorizo88 Second that, but also go Rob!

  • the amazing rocky dance ajajajaj 8:02

  • We'd like to offer you a million dollars. My god. What a blessing to be rewarded so insanely for devoting your life to your art and craft. Kudos to Trujillo. I just think this scene is so powerful and moving.

  • 3:38 take a look at the other bassists, they SUCK!!!!!i wonder how these guys are so famous to participate in a metallica audition...by the way trujillo fucking rocksss!!!!10/10

    the others 3/10 all together

  • SCOTT REED FTW

  • @RallyRacer188 reeder dude

  • I can't beieve how bad the other guys did...still. one guy's bass was outta tune even

  • They should've picked Pepper Keenan and let him take over lead vocals as well.

  • Somehow, just somehow I knew at 0:30 that he was going to be the new bassist.

    I wonder how.

  • @ixcaliber cause it happened yeas ago

  • Did James just use Frankenstein as a verb? badass

  • 8:01 - 8:15 epiccc

  • Seriously, fuck Lars.

  • fuuuck I cant believe these faggots came up with kill em all and ride the lightening back in the day. This is the gayest shit I have ever fucking seen!

  • let me angry to see james scraming TIC TIC TIC and bob gay saying that his voice isn't good at all ...

  • @TheAlockzin He's right though :-) James didn't sound good there, even before the 'tic tic' part... Much can be said about St. Anger (which I think is a shit album), but James actually sounds vibrant, current and good on that album. He was a bit off on some parts ReLoad, methinks...

  • @TheAlockzin: Bob Rock said James went into another voice. He didn't say his voice isn't good at all. You're a fucking retard and you can't even spell.

  • @TheAlockzin I'm pretty sure he meant it as a compliment, which is a shame cause james sounded terrible right there.

  • the thing with cliff, what makes him much better than everyone else, he was a leader, he stood up and was counted for, his playing style is like the style of a lead guitar, when james and lars first heard him they thought he was a guitarist, not a bassist, jason and rob never made anything as cool as orion or bells

  • @rattleXhead WHAT? listen to cyanide and my friend of misery bass line.also, unforgiven 3 bass line

  • keep pressing 0!

  • That part where james sings "Frantic tic tic tic tic tic toc Frantic tic tic tic tic tic toc Frantic tic tic tic tic tic toc" is definetly the most gay singir ever on metal history!

  • if cliff showed up you wouldnt pick him?? fuck you lars!

  • @wwescsazz Lol... bands change. Thats what he meant. He loves Cliff, they all did, he just meant that, in that period of time, who knows what could happen...

  • @Bludhoundz8 yeah but i mean, look at all those bass players! they all sucked! rob was the only one worthy of playing with metallica, and cliff was wayyy better then rob..

  • @wwescsazz Cliff and Rob are about the same skill-wise. Cliff was probably a better songwriter though.

  • Lars "It's not about what HE says, it's about what *I FEEL". what a dick. Always!

  • "Basicially to show you how serious we are we'd like to offer you 50 dollars to join our band right now."

  • Rob is fuckin awesome

  • wTF O.o Pepper plays bass too ?? @ 00:24

I thought he just plays guitar in Down..

  • 8:20 win metallica

  • 3:00 LARS IS A VERY GOOD DRUMMER !!

  • Thats awseome mane...7:51

  • lars is so stupid 2:14

  • Rob totally owned from whom the bell tolls

  • Back to the front!
