  • i have a problem aswel, everything is installed as far as i know, and my laptop picks up the shuttle, but it wont let any video come through, i hooked up my xbox to it, and all that pops up is the logo of black magic, it disapears and nothing happens

  • My Computer Rate Is A 3.5 I Think Is It Compatibe?

  • @aeyst the site of blackmagic changed can you send me the download links thx

  • i have the same exact cpu as u haha

  • Can this record PS3 gameplay without any additional cables.

  • @aeyst it also say USB 3.0 can not be found when i open it from renesas electronic's folder.I have usb 3.0 and its up to date :(

  • Hey, I need to know whether instead of running it through USB 3.0, can I just 'firewire' it?

  • 6:57 this is soo "screen ception"

  • is there an adapter so you can use it for a 2.0 port. i got a mac and i need this thing badly. please tell me there is a way for it to work. what else do i need to buy to make it work?

  • I have a few questions before I pull the trigger on one...

    1) will it work with a USB 3.0 PCI Card?

    2) will it work with Adobe Primer (non pro?)

    3) If not, how is the included software? Will it work with a USB mic for commentary tracks?

    4) How much lag is there created from the in-out setup the shuttle has? Should I just get an HDMI splitter (or composite for older stuff)?

  • @brett3xmvpfavre4

    1) Depends which one, but probably not.

    2) Yes, I see no reason why not.

    3) No, it won't, but what I'd do if I were you is run Audacity simultaneously and record to that.

    4) The lag isn't really noticeable.

  • will this device be compitable with Sony Vaio s-series laptop ? because it has a usb 3.0 but i wanna if the motherboard is alright with this device .....

  • ***** The Shuttle installation on my new VAIO S (i7 3.50GHz) took me 3 minutes: download & install BM software, connect shuttle and you ready to go. No wasting time on driver or firmware upgrades, etc. It was so easy and works like a charm. If your PC is more than year old, then yes, you have to deal with all this crap. Not for new machines where USB 3.0 is mature.

  • @eskwadrat i have the same pc like urs but i have a black screen problem in express media only voice working i ve tried eveything

  • i only have a 1tb hard drive. did you get it running without a raid. I will just record compressed anyway. This seems to complicated. Should i just go with the happauge gaming edition?

  • you need usb 3.0 and an x58 based computer or better

  • ewwwww internet explorer.

  • necesito ayuda para instalar esta capturadora si alguien habla español y la tiene que me agregue al skype eagle_esp ,quien me ayude se vera recompensado, saludos

  • Hey man i am not able to follow your instructions. I would like some help setting this up if possible! Contact me asap

  • Be nice if u can post the links for us!

  • I have a problem with my shuttle all drivers are installed, the usb 3.0 driver too but when i start media express it says: the hardware can not be found on your system please check installation.

i want capture vids on my xbox 360

    please help me :(

sorry for the bad english i´m german :)

  • @DanielWaslos I had that problem a few times.

Unplug the USB 3 from the computer, reboot, and plug it back in again.

Ziehen Sie das USB 3 vom Computer, starten, und schließen Sie es wieder ein.

  • @aeyst didn´t work :((((((

  • @aeyst How can I unplug the usb 3 from my computer?

  • do u need a USB 3.0 on ur PC to use it cause i only have 2.0

  • @ScreamsOfEvil yes you do, or a pci e port and a usb 3 adapter for pci

  • you should never update your BIOS unless there is a problem with your computer at the current time. Ask any computer IT (such as myself) and you will get the same answer. Reason being, this could cause system instability if you do not necessarily need it or if you fail to follow instructions. this could permanently damage your computer by doing so, so i highly advise to NOT do so.

  • i got intel core i3 350m 4gb ram 500gb hardrive. will it work?

  • Hello i am a gamebattles gamer and i am wondering if the blackmagic would work for me as people confuse me the first question is do u have usb 2.0 or 3.0? Would it work with my LAPTOP Acer Aspire i5-460m intel core 750gb hdd and a 6gb ram with a HD graphics card? Thanks as i need to record my gaming asi use HDMI not the downgrade of the blue green and red composite cable.

    Thanks

  • @matty1995LT2k8 This requires a USB 3.0 or it won't work. A USB 3.0 is the only USB port fast enough so far to use it.

  • im wondering if this mother board would work

    ASUS P7P55D-E LX Motherboard

  • i am going to get this soon because it works for linux

  • @justinfroot but not the shuttle

  • looks mightily confusing.

  • If I install a USB 3.0 PCI card into my PC will this work?

My motherboard supports it but the PC doens't have the ports.

  • do u use a laptop ? or can u use a laptop to record with the BLACKMAGIC DESIGN INTENSITY SHUTTLE???

  • @KondratK9 I don't know of any laptops with USB 3.0's. They are USB ports coloured in blue.

  • Comment removed

  • Can you record with a Black Magic using Pinnacle Studio 15?

  • do you have SSD to have your transfer rate rating at 7.7??????

  • Hey, I've got a BMIS and I'm having a problem. Everything is working, the USB is updated etc etc. However, when I'm in Media Express, my iPad 2 is not recognised in the capture screen. It's frustrating because there is a signal when I plug the Pad into my TV, just not when it is into the Shuttle. Any help will be appreciated! And I'm running it on Windows 7. Thanks.

  • Do you have problems with your shuttle dropping frames a lot? Mines done it ever since the new versions of Media Express came out :/

  • So the 3.0 is the same one as like wireless mouses with the little USB plugin

  • someone has a psp go

  • can some one please help me i just got this capture card but i can not get it to work with my xbox360 i

  • I GOT MY BLACK MAGIC YESTERDAY IM SO HAPPY !!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • what if u have a NEC chip in your computer but u doesn't have that software? :O

  • I've done everything correctly and my computer recognizes the device and it says its working properly, but i cannot edit the control panel functions and blackmagic media express does not open, please help.

  • @thevibeArts me 2 please help

  • This is compatible with a p55 mobo right?

  • @thevibeArts I think its x58 only. Im not sure.

  • @MisterNyaah yea and P55

  • @thevibeArts yes

  • @thevibeArts yes atleast you have usb 3.0

  • hello. i got a hd pvr but it isn't working (probably becouse i got 1.73Ghz and not 2.00) so i'm probably going to sell it and buy this capture card but i first wanna know if my laptop is good enough. my laptop:

laptop: acer aspire gaming laptop from $1000

    graphics card: invedia GeForce GT330M

    processor: intel core i7 1.73Ghz

    ram: 4

thatsbasicly it hope someone can tell me if my laptop is good enough thanks :)

  • @xBinHD prolly not. I wouldnt risk it

  • will it work on ps3 ??

  • @EzThePker

I managed to get it connected through the Component Cables to record at 1080i

But the most I could get it from HDMI was 720p, anything above and it would give the blank screen (I did make sure that the x360 was displaying the respective displays)

Am I doing anything wrong or is that just the max it goes?

  • your better off with a hd pvr BMI shuttle is a piece of crap it took me in circles everytime i tried to install it like it tells me to

  • @ultimateshadowkiller the shuttle is a hd pvr lmao. fail.

  • @NotSoFailuyr what are you talking about im talking about the hd pvr by hauppauge lol fail :P

  • @ultimateshadowkiller an hd pvr is anything that records high definition videos from a personal source i.e. gaming console. hauppauge makes their own, but it isnt the only hd pvr. referring to it as the hd pvr could be so many things.

  • @NotSoFailuyr yes... yes it is

  • Did you record this video with the Black Magic shuttle? Thing is, I can't find anywhere if it can record what goes on on the PC screen. I do not intend to record from my Xbox 360. And I wanna know if this can record 1080p from PC? I have an x58 motherboard and USB 3 and all that btw. And my graphics card has HDMI.

  • @EzThePker I used the screen capture capability of a program named 'fraps', to make this video.

  • @aeyst Ah ok. The thing is that fraps takes quite a bit to run with games. Found the answer to my question elsewhere though.

  • @aeyst Sorry to annoy you but do youthink this will worl with a LGA 1155 Motherboard??

If not I can just get the Pro version. The Shuttle would just be more convienent. Thanks.

  • @aeyst it says i do not have enough bandwidth to use it now what.

  • @Boosterjustise That means your USB3 port does not run in superspeed mode, and is not supported.

  • @EzThePker, are you freaking serious if you use a blackmagic intensity pro to record from your pc, you are just fucking stupid, use camtasia studio, there are like 100 cracked versions on thepiratebay

do not spend money to screen captrue, FAIL

  • @HsojTAN Are you okay...? Yes, you can record PC footage to a blackmagic intensity pro, I already found out how to do it. However, it's kinda complicated and costs a bit. So I simply found a fix for the Fraps lag, and I record fine with Fraps now. Might even start to make some new Audiosurf videos during this summer.

  • @EzThePker, I am sorry for getting so mad lol, I am having a bad day, I was just saying to purchase something that is 200 dollars for screen capture of your computer seemed very very ignorant, I really recommend you check you Camtasia Studio 7, it costs money but on thepiratebay(.)(Com) take out the parenthesis and search for Camtasia Studio 7, it has the best capturing available, and it also has built in software for editing your clips, you will need a torrent downloader, I recommend vuze

  • @HsojTAN I tried out Camtasia Studio 7 as well (from tpb), but I had trouble recording certain games in fullscreen, so I continued using fraps. As for editing, Sony Vegas has been really good both for editing and converting, though it's a bit tough to learn.

  • Can you use this for Xbox 360?

  • Every time my media express is open, there's a black screen. Any idea how to fix this? All of my cords are plugged in correctly, and I even tried using a HDMI splitter. Nothing is working..

  • What type of hard drive you have? sata2 or sata3

  • my motherboard is a p55-usb3 will this support my shuttle?

  • ive done everything (i think, im pretty sure....) and when i go to the shuttle control panel.. i cant change anything, can you help? also when i try to bring up the media express thing.. it says "The black magic hardware cannot be found in your system"

  • @ImperviouslyGaming This happened to me a few times. You should unplug the USB and plug it back in. If that doesn't work uninstall everything that you installed, and perform the install EXACTLY as I have shown here. Installing unneccessary Blackmagic design software from the website or disc could be the cause of your problem. Come back and let me know the result.

  • @aeyst wait.. ive been reading up even more for hours and hour. and hm. i am using a u3s6 usb 3.0, which is recommended with the shuttle and can be used on a p55. which i have talked to them already about and they said it will work.. what they didnt tell me i think is that, it had to be on a x4 slot or x16 slot... i dont have a x4 slot and only have one x16 slot which is what my GFX card is on. so i only had a x8 slot which also fits... but x8 wont be enuf bandwidth i think, is this my problem?

  • @ImperviouslyGaming If you are talking about the Intensity Pro, it only needs x1 slot. But will fit in any up to x16. 1 lane of PCIE 2.0 is roughly the same throughput as USB 3.0. So x2 would be overkill for that thing, let alone x8. All this can be seen on the the FAQ portion of their site. Hope it helps.

  • @aeyst I cant find the first download :(

  • ive done everything (i think, im pretty sure....) and when i go to the shuttle control panel.. i cant change anything, can you help?

  • Dude, ive tried everything, and can't install this on my laptop.. it's a newer laptop. I't Says when i try to install the usb 3.0 it detects intensity software on it already. I cant uninstall anything.

  • @rayrod114

As per the BlackMagic Design website FAQ : There are no notebooks currently available which are compatible with the USB 3.0 hardware.

  • @aeyst Thanks... but, do you know if their is a driver i can install??

  • @aeyst Do you know if their is anything i can by actually...?

  • @aeyst Then y does this come up when I look for How to setup a Black Magic Intensity Shuttle for a laptop dude

  • @aeyst Try my video, I found a laptop which supports it... It's titled "iPad 2 hdmi capture with a Lenovo X220 Laptop using an Intensity Shuttle"

  • Please Respond.

Are you using a 3.0 PCI E care or are you USB 3.0's on your Motherboard?

  • @MisterNyaah I have an x58 motherboard with built in usb 3.0. I just installed the newest drivers, and media express software from Blackmag design. All is well. I did notice that they no longer recommend any motherboard other than an x58 series.

  • @aeyst I see, so this will only work with Intel and not my ASUS Crosshair IV Formula AMD mobo?

  • @MisterNyaah Listed below are motherboards that have been verified for Intensity Shuttle

    ASUS P6X58D-Premium

    ASUS P6X58D-E

    Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7

    Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5

  • What about getting a Usb 3.0 PCI card? Would this be compatible ?

  • @Playerdaniel12345

if the motherboard has 3.0 usb.. then yes... my p55 has 3.0

  • 12GB RAM - Whoa!!

  • hi, could you help me please, when I get home half xpress error is not hardware, not if it's because I have USB 2.0 ports and the power must be 3.0? 3.0 drivers installed perfectly to me and if I recognize the pc but not meda Blackmagic xpress help please.

  • can you pm me a guide some things arent working

  • is this compatible with mac?

  • Hauppauge HD-PVR? Easy?

  • @zZZzzzSnooze2nd The HD-PVR does not have HDMI capture. So the two products are similar but the shuttle has a greater number of sources that it can capture from. I have not tried the HD-PVR but it looks like a great choice for some applications.

  • I have a lot of questions...

  • hey i have a toshiba satellite a665 something

    specs

    4 ram

    500 hdd

    i3 2. 56 ghz

    4.6 windows points

would it work and i think it has a usb 3.0 and im sure if it has a x58 or not ?

  • @Playerdaniel12345 according to blackmagic design you will need a USB 3.0 PCI Express card.

  • If this only works on usb 3.0 then its too much hassel for the price :/

I do plan on upgrading and getting a Desktop PC but now I must hunt one down with USB 3.0.

I am using a laptop though (im sure its only 2.0)

I found a cheaper one for half the price but this seems to be good quality (despite the comments with issues).

I have Windows Vista SP2 I do have Adobe Master Collection CS5. My laptop is a Acer 8920G

  • Can you use Sony Vegas Pro 9 instead of Adobe Premier Pro?

  • wat if i hav 4gb and amd 1055t

  • doses this work for mac?

  • @FrostyyyJ I don't USB 3.0 works for mac..

  • @FrostyyyJ I don't think USB3.0 works for mac...

  • @FrostyyyJ no

  • Media Express :

Cannot find Black Magic Hardware, Check installation.

    I did everything correctly.

  • Thanks. I still don't know how to get it to work with Comp cables. When I open media express says Error.

  • Other than this shuttle thing and a laptop (windows 7) do I need to buy anything else? I want it so I can record things off my 360 onto my laptop. Please reply someone :)

  • @H3nry0wnzAll well you will need obviously the capture software like FME etc, and if you are wanting a shuttle make sure your laptop has usb 3.0 (which is the blue USB port) if your laptop doesnt have that you can get a small memory card thing that gives you a USB port without getting a new laptop ;)

  • @PaperWeight231 ive tried that but it didnt work !!!! :(

  • just get a usb 3.0 pci express card and viola. ps why the port on shuttle a female 3.0 not a male one?

  • Just bought one, do you need to have a x58 or a p55 motherboard?

I've just bought mine, audio works, but not video.. You may know what the problem is?

  • This device only works with usb 3.0.

Adobe premiere pro CS5 should be purchased through the Adobe store.

If you control panel does not work unplug the usb 3.0, from the shuttle, then plug it back in. If that doesn't work uninstall everything and reinstall exactly as I've shown you. If you have other Blackmagic design hardware installed, you may wish to contact their tech support by phone. (Their email response is slow)

  • my blackmagic control panel wont work, what should i do?

  • @DropshotingKing

    Only 3.0 USB

  • i ve buyed BMIS but i ve a lot problems

1 how can i get adobe premier pro?

    2 my pc i7 3,06 ghz - x58 chipset - 12 gb ram - gtx 260 1,8 gb - 2 tb hdd

i ve buyed a usb 3.0 card update to newest firmware

but get error code 10 bandwitch error and i can t connect to BMSI

If you ve time please help me

    Thx in advance

  • ok so I know that this sound retarded, so the Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle works perfectly on Windows 7 32bit?

  • @Mutterjunge no you need 64bit!

  • @TuFFJaMpower ok and since I just got a new 64bit cpu will this fuck up my computer like the internal one?

  • @Mutterjunge it wont 'fuck it up' the most important things you need are: USB 3.0 and a X58 motherboard. Capturing is fucking annoying, I am still working on making it all work!, so many problems and so few answers!! Its fine if you get it working but if you have problems (like I have with my shuttle) your fucked!

  • @TuFFJaMpower

hahahahahaahha BlackMagic makes the gayest shit ever. "Wanna spend more than $500 to make a HD capture card work?" "If you said yes then try out shitty crap!"

  • this answered so many questions I had. thanks man
