  • The music industry is flooded and it is hard for true artists to stand through all the crap. Do these things and they'll start dropping like flies...

  • to take down pirated files and instrumental tracks.

  • Have the big 4 record companies make up a fund for the FCC to pay off Internet Service Providers to block websites that deal with piracy. After this is done make sure the music industry quits putting crappy artists on the radio by the FCC acquiring a system to keep track of all radio "advertisement/payola" deals. Also, get people that are representatives artists

  • fuck the RIAA

  • YEAH I am totally gonna save them, it is as ridiculous as saving the Queen, they are RICH RICH RICH RICH RICH AND ALL POWERFULL, USE YOUR HEAD!!

Music is an art, not a product, the RIAA can kiss my ass!

  • RIAA is an entity from times past. It's refusal to adapt to a different era as well as its decisions to take aggressive action on people who won't buy into their b.s has made this tyrant obsolete. We don't need music Nazis.

  • they should make a program were you could get a subscription and pay 10 bucks a month and lets you download all the music you want and distribute the earnings of the organization that is managing the program between the artists, and the record labels(if its necessary)

  • record industry can just move on, I am sorry but they are obsolete now, I like to see a web site where artists themselves can upload the demo songs and charge what they want to charge even $0.00 for gaining popularity at initial stage let the consumers decide what they want to download. It will make sure 90% profit going to actual artists, lowing music price to reasonable line. It will also give fair chance to new comer artists who are denied by RIAA assholes.

  • I have a terrific idea on how to save the music industry... Destroy the RIAA by not buying music from RIAA contributing record labels.

    The RIAA has

    1. Through their powerful lobby caused the public domain to freeze completely.

    2. Oligopolized the music industry.

    3. Made it very difficult for musicians to make money.

    4. Made it very difficult for listeners to expose themselves to a broad variety of music.

    5. Engage in cyberterrorism(like the sony rootkit scandal)

    6. Destroy lives with lawsuites

  • record labels should release albums that have more than just 2 good songs on it and they should stop signing shit artists. i buy mostly vinyl from "indie" artists that release albums that are a joy to listen to from beginning to end. music is a experience to me, i love buying whole catalogs from bands to hear the growth in sound from that band. i won't lie i download whole albums to put on my ipod but still buy the vinyl to add to my collection but also because no tv show is better than music.

  • I just don't think the music industry needs to be saved. It needs to die so an alternative industry can take its place.

    Fuck the RIAA.

  • lollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • epiic fail

  • They need to stop shoving crap down our ears. The whole music industry is built on celebrity when it should be built on MUSIC. Songs seem to have shorter and shorter lifespans, meaning that they go out of style very quickly. It is a cycle; four or five new songs are released to the radio, those songs are played in a loop every 30 minutes, people mimic the hook, and then it gets old: cycle repeats itself. Music has been mcdonalized and the only way it survives is through mass brainwashing.

  • Go fuck yourself dude. Your Lame. Id love to see the RIAA and MPAA gone. Apple can suck it too.

  • the tape thing was funny

  • Two words for this guy.......... Lame Sauce

  • i think a unlimited download sight with a fair

    monthly fee (drm free)

i think its better for the record companies to make a little bit of money than no money at all.

  • go piracy

  • fuck you!

  • i dont go that way sorry, have fun with your boyfriend though

  • Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) has been credited in publications for being the most wired city in America. So if were truly fighting a war against piracy, then Dallas (DFW) is ground zero on the fight against digital piracy.

    Why DALLAS?

Technology: Telecom Corridor is larger than Silicon Valley. Dallas is wired for the 21 century. The region has the most cel phones per capita and the most cable and fiber optics in the ground than any other major city in America.

    Drew Diggs

  • Torrent wont work for us making music. Cant give out a mp3 file or something any more. Theres always some seeders that take them and give it for free to outhers. !tunes is the only one today. spotify stream but dont give you the chans to get the money from the albums.

  • i hate how itunes locks its music. for example, i have a phone that can play mp3s, but i can only put on cds i burned onto the computer and songs that i pirated. and i used to have a problem with wanting to edit a song into a video i was making but the song was locked. i use adobe products now and for some reason adobe will let me use locked music in my videos.

  • the only reason the music industry is failing is because the "artists" that they sponser can't make music for shit these days, and expect us to pay for it.

  • Im going to download even more music that I did not buy :)

  • I'd love to see the RIAA and the other entertainment maffia companies die out.

    Death to the RIAA.

  • @Shavarnarak I'm black and I'm 27 and I support the RIAA and FBI in this fight against music, movie, and software piracy.

  • @Shavarnarak so no music for you?

  • even though u got a lot of thumbs down i agree with u. ...

  • I dont even know what I said anymore hahahaha

  • they want too much for those Sh*cough* songs

  • The RIAA and the music industry aren't worth saving. Let them die.

  • @Zyozyoma i agree

  • DRYYY LOL

  • I do agree with you about some music is bad and also that illegal downloading of music has caused a decline in physical music sales. If the record companies are desperate to make sales why don't the RIAA change they sale figures to keep up with the music treads by halfing them?

  • music should be free, i believe they dont make money off it, i think they make 10% off each song and the record companies get all the money, they get money at concerts and such.

  • Major labels yes, but a lot of indie companies are really getting good musicians out there. Even better, many musicians are getting themselves out there by making the music free and downloadable. That's the way I'm going (free music = bigger audience)

  • yeah most ppl learn new music by free downloads.

  • what about the songwriters, producers, and engineers? how are they going to get paid if music for free?

  • @ontopp247 By doing something else.

  • @DSXmachine then i guess a lot of new music won't get put out. yes music is art and people should do it for the love of it, but who would put in all that hard work for nothing?

  • @ontopp247 A lot of crappy music wouldn't be produced. No loss there.

Ending the current IP model would merely create a new market system without oligopoly corporate control.

  • iTUNES IS GOING DRM FREE W00T!!!

  • lmao at the sellotape jokes.

i dont know wtf the RIAA is. but im guessing its a government music industry thingy to stop ilegal downloads. like the FBI for music lmao

GO FEULEDBYRAMEN AND DECAYDENCE AND TRUSTKILL AND ALL THE ROCK/INDIE/EMO/PUNK LABELS OUT THERE

  • While I do have a problem with free downloading, the RIAA is a joke. If you download an album and you like it you really should buy it, especially if it is from independent artist and label. I do this quite a bit, I have been burned too many times buying shitty records. The RIAA only helps the major record labels, it does very little for the artist and it does jack shit for the small independent labels. I am an old school fucker, I like to buy my music on vinyl if it's available in that format.

  • However my point is that downloading is detrimental to the labels and and the real music retailers, for the most part it helps the artists. The labels do jack shit for most artists, they see very little money from their album sales. This I know first hand. Fuck the RIAA, it is just the major labels getting together to save their asses. If you are in a band, a label can not do anything you can't yourself. Either go independent or DIY. Fuck the majors and fuck the RIAA

  • i disagree & agree. the internet has put the power in the hands of the people...and we're taking full advantage of it! if anything, the record labels will stick around because people by crappy pop music, not because of some conspiracy by politics and business to keep them around.

  • I don't want to save the RIAA nor the music industry.

I want them both to die and go away.

Those mtv or radio musicians should all disappear and never return.

DEATH TO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY, LIFE TO REAL MUSIC.

  • i support piracy.

  • Awesome to hear of their mass losses and they will continue until they no longer exist or have been dissolved into a million pieces with another institution. no sympathy here for their ignorance.

  • The entertainment industry is runned by Labels. WE DON"T NEED LABELS! Their dinosaurs! They screw both the consumers & the artists. Its a fascist way of business. I say pirate them down!

  • cris pirillo a little bitch.

  • If anyone wants a Demonoid invite - PM me.

    Fuck this douchebag.

  • jhgvhfj

  • why are vidios "were sorry, This vidio is no longer avalable" WTF

  • put buy now links right next to the youtube video of the song even if it was uploaded illegally

  • What record companies do best is market artists and get artists on national radio and TV and basically get U to the actually buying audience. It's a lot of overhead in that expect of the business. As much shit as people like to talk about the internet, no artist has never really move a lot of units that was only known from the internet. Radiohead and NIN were brands built by major labels. U might be able to move 50-100,000 units in 2 years off the just internet if U are really doing well.

  • I don't think the music industry is dead. I think the ablility of major record companies to continue to make billions off it and support these huge corporate structures will start to break down into the independent record companies that was there before they consolidate them all.

  • the record labels are now out of date. bands don't need them anymore...they're dinosaurs...give it time, and the majority bands will simply use the internet to distribute their music.

  • Oh sure...& while your at it, make everyone pay for downloading .gif & .jpg images online! People can get them free! While your at it, make everyone pay for seeing their emails & downloading Adobe Flash Player (which people get for free) Fucking douche! Librals suchs as yourselves are what made the record companies shoot themselves in foot! Music is art, not a product. Stop ruining people's lives!

  • As I recall... OiNK never stocked much wav. most of it was pcm, hi-quality mp3, hi-quality vorbis, and/or AAC. Good call on the Radiohead reference. Their scheme is something that works. Its proof of concept, in actuality.

  • err: I meand to say FLAC, not pcm ... difference between wav and pcm is only 44 bytes anyways.

  • The people control this now.

They are NOT gonna buy just ANY music in 10 years time.

    Talentless artists will vanish.

Only those with talent will succeed.

Just like we all pay extra money for QUALITY products from food to cars, we will also pay for QUALITY music without hesitation.

  • This is a really slanted ass way of looking at things. Of course he's willing to pay for it, as he's surrounded by his iphone, 24"? monitor, and the other monitor, appears to be a 30 or 32 or so of course you don't mind shelling out 100 bucks for 5 CD's, but I sure as hell do. I simply don't have it. Now is it my fault for not having a job? Perhaps, but as I'm pursuing an education (college) right now and can't afford to work at the same time, I'd prefer to pursue my education with music.

  • wow this is an annoying internet hermit guy and the people in the chat room must be the lowest of the low when it comes to nerdy human waste...

i can't believe this annoying guy has an audience

  • You know, nobody is forcing you to watch Chris's videos. He's a cool guy. Take him the way you want to. Love him or hate him. Take your pick.

  • DRM MUST DIE! I buy my music, so I should be able to do whatever I want with it! What's worse is that only iTunes has all TV show episodes available for Download. I want a Zune but if I can't watch my shows from iTunes on it, then I have no choice but to get an iPod. Screw you iTunes!

  • Music is just like sex! Some people have to pay for it, Most of us get it for free.

  • lol

  • lol. omg, that was classic.

  • that has to be your official quote, damn that was good.

  • Save the RIAA??? LOL!!!

The same company that's been screwing people over with lawsuits?

I think I speak for everyone when I say: Fuck 'em!

  • #1 tip

copy radiohead and screww RIAA and big producers,

    artists get more money,

people get better deals on music.

everyone wins except the greedy project champions at big labels

    yay for music

  • The best tip to save the RIAA & the music industry:

Make music free & legal! Period!

  • "Make music free"? Why do you feel that artists shouldn't be compensated for their work?

  • I do feel artists should be compensated for their work. I just believe it will not hurt their profit. Remember in the year 2000 when it was legal & free to download---pop charts were up. But ever since this law was pasted, pop charts have hit record lows.

  • What about lesser known artists and small record labels? Most musicians are just regular people trying to make a living, just like anyone else. People downloading music isn't going to put Britney Spears in the poorhouse, but it may have a huge impact on an artist that is just getting by.

  • Some consumers like to preview or hear 1 or 2 songs made by the artists before buying their album/s. (By "preview" I mean listen to the entire song). If an artist makes a really good album of songs (ex: 18 tracks) there is a good chance many people are song to buy the album. However, some music artists make only 2 or 3 songs that are actually worth listening.

  • I remember 50 Cent's album "Wangsta," there were only 4 songs out of 18 worth listening. As for those lesser known artists, well its their loss. Besides, if a artist does not make music that a certain group of listeners enjoys then there is a good chance they won't make any profit. Its just the way the music industry works.

  • "What about lesser known artists and small record labels? Most musicians are just regular people trying to make a living, just like anyone else."

the internet is actually helping unknown artist. Alot of them put there music out there for FREE and then ask for donations or ask them to go to the concerts. Where the real money is at. Fact is unknown artist are doing better today then they ever have before because of the NET. Copyright is not there to protect artist but the distributor instead.

  • man i wish i was there for this one. well i see less advertising for the record sales now more than ever. and as always concerts are still selling out. however i cant get to many concerts so i buy the records. and yes i do have a itunes account. but i bought the same cd 14 times because people kept taking it. so i backed it up and have it on itunes as well. the point is if i like something i am willing to buy that music from a music store.

  • dudes wake up and stop stealing tunes, yeah people used to record off the radio or make copies but the fact is downloading music is so easy and only a single person can distribute it across the globe, whereas before you might buy something and copy it for a few friends.. musicians rely on huge numbers of record/mp3/merchandise sales to pay for equipment/sound engineers/ advertising/tansport etc.. increase record sales? stop stealing and pay them for the entertainment they provide...

  • agreed. pirates are just selfish!

  • You could do what we used to do with our cassette tapes back in the day. Record music from the radio. Actually my simple suggestion would be to quit pricing albums so high.. and/or if it's gonna stay that high.. give us real music instead of the stuff pumped out of a pop-culture factory.

  • CD's are OUT. Digital media formats are IN.

Why can't they make an in car stereo that uses flash cards or USB drives? That way I could load up my 'legally' bought MP3's onto a SSD, plug it into my car and GO!

  • car stereos like that have been out for ages,

i have 3 brothers with stereos that do that

  • CD is a digital media. and there are car stereos that support usb sticks and some also suppors sd cards ;)

  • $0.25 per song is a reasonable price for many songs out there. $0.99 per song is just too expensive for many people. Especially if your a DJ who creates mix sessions for a living.

  • The only way they are going to get money through record sales is to start listening to the "underground" music scenes and say to those artists "hey, we like you". There is some truly great music out there, you just have to sift through the crap to get to it.

  • Fuck the RIAA, they make enough fuckin money!

  • Who cares about the RIAA???

They certainly don't care about us!

  • Fuck the RIAA

  • I wouldn't save the RIAA if they were stuck in my arse, bunch of parasites who need to listen to consumers and not try and kill internet broadcasting by trying to make broadcasters pay $500 a track. As if they could enforce that ruling anyway.

  • Screw the RIAA pirate them to death for all I care. The music industry is doomed anyway.

  • I agree. For sure we will see rap/hip hop kill the music industry. RAP is short for CRAP. The only people who listen to CRAP are the RAP (Retards Attempting Poetry).

  • I guess I should have have mentioned this in the last replay I made:

I agree with "The music industry is doomed anyway", but I do not agree upon pirating music.

  • continued...Logging onto the website, searching for a song, clicking on the one you want, finding your credit card then typing the details in, then going to a url link that was emailed to you and finally downloading the song is not as easy as opening limewire, searching for the song, downloading it and having it on your computer within a couple of minutes. So if they can make it easier, then legal music downloads will eventually become more popular than illegal music downloads.

  • I think the music industry needs to make it easier to buy music than to download it. The reason people illegally download music is not just because it's free but also because they don't need to get up. So the simple solution is for music distributors to sell their products online in a very quick and easy way.

  • my firewalls save my ass from the RIAA everyday.......

  • Fuck the Riaa

  • I agree...

They've pretty much screwed every artist who's ever tried to break into the business. Only 1 in 1,000,0000 actually make it..and they still get screwed.

    Do it yourself people!!!

  • I agree with DsmB2007.

  • "promote yourself with your music and sell concert tickets, t-shirts, etc.."

That's final idea that the music industry will come up.

  • Indeed. The record companies are greedy.

  • they should fucking listen to the consumer because if you did not know the consumer is never wrong. if they are losing money it is their fucking problem.

  • this is a wierd movie.

  • there's actually a new-found interest in vinyl. a lot of new albums are released as special editions on vinyl LP's.

  • save the riaa?

  • stupid ass motherfucker lol

  • 8 tracks ftw

  • i hate it riaa
