Mihai lives in Belgium now, he speak french fluently and has a job. Both siblings are in Romania but are parents now. Im in contact with the kids who are adults now and they are doing great :)

I grew up in kids homes, they werent great but looking back i had a roof over my head,i was fed,taken to school & in less danger than i would have been left at home.Its difficult but i still dont think its right to leave kids to live on the streets.You dont get the love in care but i know i survived better, turned out more ' normal ' than i would have done living on the streets as a kid.Some of the kids were runaways,not abuse victims, whatever their story,they have no chance if left like that.

I could go on and on about the reasons why that doesn't happen in Romania, but I can tell you I've visited care homes/orphanages here and it's not all that much better. The authorities don't care, and when they DO get taken into care, it's done to take them off the streets for aesthetic reasons, not really to help them.
