u need to get a moat!!!! u could get a draw bridge and a water wheel thing so when water goes by it makes energy. but get something to move the water. yea do somethin like that
Hi. Is there any particular reason you have not painted your cabin? If I had to make an educated guess, I would say that you preferred the natural look...
Would there be any negative side effects to painting the cabin?
I do like the natural look and once you paint you have to repaint every so many years. There is very little benefit to painting wood but a good sealer after it has aged will add protection.
Hey LaMar I'm a big fan and I plan to build the 14x14 cabin when Im 19 or 20 but I was wondering how much did the solar system that you use cost? i'm trying to get all the numbers figured out so i can save enough to do this.
For a 600 watt system it would be about $3000 for everything but prices are coming down quickly. I started with a small system and added as I had the money.
im interested in how you earn your income out there

I made a very nice trellis got my girlfriends garden using this simple technique for making a net.
Search on You-Tube for "how to make a net"
Maybe you could use some nice nylon twine or small rope to make some nets to hang underneath your hitching post fences?
Sorry that the guy in the army jacket video makes so much unnecessary noise.
There are better net making videos out there but the way I saw in his video is the simplest method I have seen.

@solarcabin a reminder, you have the store tag still on the wood.

Nice little idea there -- there's so much free stuff being thrown away that's useful it's incredible.
I've gotten a lot of stuff from a friend of mine who dumpster dives, lots of books for example.

You should grow something on your new fence, like ivy or even grapes. Harvest them and make your own wine. LOL! ^__^
