  • Is Muay Thai a good beginner martial art, stupid question but i need to know.

  • you forget the liver shot of the left.

  • that isnt muay thai.. just saying

  • I like this

  • ballpin hammer beats all arts and artists, even the world champ, but this was a pretty good move.the one thing about muay thai is its a sport with rules people train for(not grion kicks therefore no drills to kick the groin an no drills to protect for it(you see fights stopped for it all the time)muay thai fighters are always open to this but in the ring its a foul.Don't get me wrong, I love muay thai and pay good money to have my daughter learn it and mma.Streets differant than the ring

  • search this "Muay Chaiya Self Defence techniques เทคนิคมวยไชยา"

  • What bullshit when you fight a guy on the street it never goes on like when you practiced in class. Watch "Sammy Franco first strike" beating someone is briging your hands up faking that you dont want to fight and strike the head of your oponent first he will be suprised and destabilised by your first hit then you continue striking the head until hes down, ounce down continue to kick the head then run lol!

  • when you parry he can tag you with his left before you elbow strike

  • @Matrixkool99 Its specifically mentioned that everything is done at the same time

  • why telepath the elbow?

  • Great vid that's a very good combo.

  • Hmmm we learned something just like this in Taijutsu. Only the attacker wasn't throwing proper punches. Alot of those moves wont work that well. The very first combo will work well. A parry followed by a nicely timed elbow strike to the head should knock them out so the rest of that combo shouldn't be needed.

  • what if the left hand of the other fighter hook?

  • @Marcusdionisios1 the hook wouldnt be powerful because he is being forced to lean over. Unless the opponent is a professional fighter, his first intention in that position is to break free from the arm lock. He wouldnt have time to think anyway, all that is done under four seconds.

  • in my opinoin, if this was done, as you say, on the street, it would be over and done with in under 3 seconds. and lets face it as cinoh said, knee someone in the face and they are going to be stunned for a second or two ;-) or the may just drop to the floor!

anyway, nice video! i was thinking, would it be worth adding a leg kick before you push away? so you wrap the arm, knee to the face, low roundhouse to the leading leg, then push away etc? or better to get out of the clinch fast?

  • @leboosh what i would do is just flee the scene as fast as I can. you never know whats on the opponents reach.

  • @dew000197 100% correct, best form of self defence is to be as far away as you can! then again, fleeing isnt always an option (could be backed into a corner or maybe trying to defend a friend who is hurt and cant run away with you) this is why its always usefull to know a few moves such as this

  • That's cute but the for the street it's stupid...lol if you got him in what you call a "Arm Wrap" why would you Knee him then push him back to throw a bullshit kick so he can recover & pull out his gun or knife? No disrespect but if you got him in that possition to knee him then why not finish him w/a Aikido/Jui-Jitsu or Hopkido arm Lock & breaking teachnique to break & take him down then the fight is over...

    Feel Me

  • @Cinoh10 That is true, but notice the knee him in the face hard enough. He would have to take much more time to recover. Therefore he would be clutching his face when you get a clear shot at smashing his sides.

  • why isnt the asian guy the teacher?

  • @HAYU571018031 thats cos da blonde guy is Scott Sullivan *Former Heavyweight Kickboxer & Shootboxing Champion.

  • @dew000197 so why is a kickboxer/chuteboxer teaching muay thai? that circle and wrap the arm thing is dumb. takes too much time. just get the arm out of the way and throw the knee..

  • @miraclemuaythai actually I've practiced it and it works. it gives you more grip. the person i did it to did know how to react. And If you research muay thai in thailand you will see some of them using some of the clinch techniques you'll see this guy teach.
