  • I really enjoyed watching ur video :) And u falls are cute! haha :)

  • Your good!

and your pretty descent at your camel and laybacks spins if they're just "attempts"

I can't do sit spins to save my life -___-

  • how long have u been skating

  • Ur sexy lol

  • your walz jump is nearly perfect !

    adorable !

  • you got it in kallang?

  • HI QI EN!

  • ur really good but keep ur feet together on ur spins so u dont travel that much hope that helped:)

  • on ur jumps (salchow and toe loops) they are good but it would look more proffecinal if ur leg was straight x :) goog luck

  • Hey there. I used to skate too, and I read your profile, you started skating after O's? I'm sitting for my O's too this year and was wondering if I should take lessons again after not skating for 3 years. It feel kinda weird to start over again. Anyway, really hope your hard work will pay off and that you'll be able to excel your jumps and spins. Reply me soon :D

  • Hey there.

Are you from SG? Because in Singapore, O Level students have a whole lot of work and classes. My friend took lessons throughout O's and she got all A1s, and one A2. Shocking right.

It's all up to your time management.

I think that skaters who go back re-learn pretty fast and they get the elements better than they did the first time around (according to some of them anyway).

  • Follow your heart. You can always choose to have a lower commitment and skate when you have time. Work on stuff you could do in the past!

And last but not least, ask your parents!

  • Yeah, from SG. It's pretty hectic this year. Well, my parents encouraged me to start skating again and I guess I would after O's. Thanks for the reply :)

Really can't wait for O's to be over!! :D

  • Great!!!! Keep up the great work!!!

    Heres my schedule:

Wake up at 4:45 Skate for 2 hrs then go to school, go to my parents resturant, eat dinner, go to ballet classes, then homework, then i fall asleep in my parents resturant, then my dad takes me home, then my day startes over again...and i'm only 13...WOW!!!! My freakin double axel won't work!!!! SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!

    Loves...Hannah

  • You're lucky that your rink opens so early. The rink here opens at 10am everyday. Ugh.

And your schedule sounds like what Mirai gave in an interview! Haha...

    Good luck for double axel!

  • hmm.. is your name caroline zhang or mirai nagasu?? pretty sure that one of the judges said that was HER schedule in one of mirai's competition videos..

but to christinaeL, you are REALLY good!!!! im jelous:]

  • i envy u cause u can afford lessons....when i saw that disney movie ice princess i loved figure skating...

and advice for ur double axel:

    keep ur knees in

point ur feet when ur in the air

throw ur weight around and do all the things i just said. if that doesn't work i'm sorry!!

  • that sounds like mirai nagasu

  • Busy? That's only moderately crowded! There's no FS sessions at the rink. We share the ice with public all the time. You should have seen ice when it's inches deep in water and public skater right THERE when you're gonna jump/do a spin like camel. Worst is Friday nights. All the double jumpers and better skaters will be on the ice and in one corner, 1 could be having lesson, 2 setting up jumps. Terribly over-crowded!

  • next jane torvill

  • haha i wish... =D

  • Loop and Flip: Just keep working on them, off-ice and on-ice. There isn't anything wrong with your positions, you just need to gain muscle memory in those jumps. On your loop, just really focus on jumping off the top of your toe. Practice just jumping off that toe off-ice too. Awesome sit spin ! :]

  • Thanks! Loop has been really sweet lately. There's less of the hook/J marking on the ice.. I've been having trouble with flip. I'm not getting height, coach says my weight is not on the right when jumping, and worst, I'm landing in front of the takeoff edge... 8/

  • but only focused on jumping as high as possible. i didnt let my left arm swing at ALL and i scooped my arms up into the air to my chest as much as possible...and made sure i kicked off as high as possible with my right leg...i dint turn my body at all but i got all the way around on my first try of this method. you might already be completely aware of this...but it helped me land a loop so i figured id let u know. im sure it always me much easier for u though...cuz im 5'1 and weigh 185. hah =]

  • Thanks! I've more height now, according to coach... But I'm pretty sure more height is just a small encouragement in comparison to the puny jumps i have. Loops have now been very consistent, I just need to land flip at the right spot! Thanks again!

  • Hey great! Id say were about the same level. About the loops...i have been skating for a while without a coach...i finally got one she is teaching me the loop though ive never done one before. but i actually was able to do a loop that same day. what helped me was knowing that in order to get a full rotation you need a lot of heighth...because you have no toe pick to propel you into the air. so i INSTANTLY landed a loop when i didnt focus at all about turning...

  • Thank you ^^

  • Good spins, your spins are always centred !

What's the name of the song ?

  • Thanks! I'm still trying to get better backspins!

The majority of the first song is Catch a Falling Star by Nina Wall. I didn't know if YT will remove the song so I kinda added Perry Comos' version in to mess up their detection, if any, haha. The last music is from Hana Yori Dango's theme. All songs are available on YT. =D

  • one thing...to improve your loop..

try to jump up and put your hands close and tight to your body..it may help to jump higher and get a better rotation and position:D it's the same for flips..after turning make sure your right leg it straight before picking it into the ice and use your right hand to swing cross and close your arms...:D hope it works for you...

  • Thanks. I need to get some decent practice in. =)

  • Nice skating! I actually like the sit spin...

well, I have never tried any of these before, I have just heard of it, I think you should check your free leg at your flip and keep your free leg straight at the camel.

  • Thanks!

My flip is a work in progress. I'll try to check my entry and not rush. Everyone has been saying that! Haha.

I'll straighten the camel out. It felt better. Anyway, THANKS! All the best to your skating!

  • great backspins,i can't do that!!!

  • Practice, practice, and practice. I took a few MONTHS to get it. I tried out many different ways to do it. In the end, i got it as a back one-foot, and then slowly I got a backspin. If you get tired of it, do something else! Backspins were the pain in the rear for me! Good luck, and thanks!

  • HELLOS

ooo..you have improved so much...from the first day i saw you at kallang till now..:D

    see ya around

  • Thanks, see you around!

  • Nice straight back in sit spins! Dick Button will LOVE you!!!

  • I'm shaving ice on sit spins, since sharpening. And thanks!

  • Wonderful video! I can tell you have a good coach. I am seeing lots of good technique. You have a talent for back spins, which will really help your double jumping. Good loops, practice them a lot....and try waltz/loop. The 'Blooper' reel is a nice touch too. Looks like great fun. best wishes

  • Ah. Among all spins, backspins took the longest! I'm glad it "clicked" though. I love my coach! He's sooooooo patient.

    Merry Christmas!

  • Your loops improved a lot since the other videos, and you definetely seem more confident with the jumps too.

  • Thanks!!!

Meant a lot. I am a horrible jumper. I STILL need to go up in loops... i think my loop is still iffy!

  • Nice skating. Your sitspins and loops are getting so good, along with everything else you do. Great catchfoot spin and camel attempts. I wouldn't hesitate to try new things unless your coach told you not to. You can teach yourself a lot by trying things yourself, and sometimes it's easier, because you don't feel pressured to get it right. Anyway, great job as always.

  • Yikes, I thought I replied!

Thanks! I had a terrible lesson and skate yesterday. Still recoiling from that.

Your words make me think that i did some good stuff once, so at least I may get it back!
